The benefits of a standing desk are totally worth it. Without a doubt. using one the right way is important for your body too and that means taking regular breaks and listening to your body. Although not exactly under $500, the Sanodesk is a great option at $650. It has a large surface area (28” x 55”), great height adjustability (24.0″ to 49.2”), a minimal design, wireless charging, multiple ports, 4 height presets, and a cable management tray. Flexispot Comhar. You can customize the frame color and desktop. I love how easy to put together it is, and it has held up well for the last 5 years. https://www.flexispot.com/comhar-all-in-one-standing-desk-wooden-top-48-w?value=ew8m&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20436317171&gbraid=0AAAAABrSKr0s164jbXyikrw9CTNqVEwjo&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIupGthPaxkAMVKhqtBh3nFB4LEAQYASABEgLYXPD_BwE

I bought two and pushed them together. One goes up and down and the other is a nicer wood desk. This is the standup desk: FLEXISPOT Comhar Electric... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SBL81LT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share The wood one is also white and nicer. I think it came from Crate & Barrel.

This is how I got mine. Sold my old (not height adjustable) desks for the pair and spent an additional 100 to buy a secondhand flexispot. It really was a steal and too some patience and searching to find. Dual motor is a must in my opinion, as are at least 2 programmable buttons. If it is for home use, don’t bother too much with it being too noisy or quiet

Flexispot but get the dual motor. Mine is 55" long and fits two monitors, laptop stand, and portable monitor with enough writing room and keyboard space. Super sturdy no shaking when changing levels. Really smooth and under $300. No need to splurge on Uplift

Got mine a year ago and use stand mode everyday, usually beginning of day and after lunch. Adjusting height while sitting at different levels for typing vs reading can also alleviate bad posture. There is no reason to spend a grand on a standing desk. Look for a Flexispot dual motor on Amazon. Amazing quality, easy set up, and so smooth. I would only ever get a dual motor. Mine was no more than $300.

FlexiSpot. During COVID lockdown I bought the FlexiSpot dual-motor frame/mechanism, put my own waney edge solid oak top on and waxed it to within an inch of its life. Looks and feels lovely, moves up and down quickly and relatively quietly, and has 3 memories for height. Zero wobble too. I use it daily when WFH - I generally do any meetings standing up because I find I'm quicker and sharper in conversation when standing, and sit down when I'm doing technical work. My only complaint is to do with my WFH office space rather than my desk _per se_. It's a fairly small box room - more of a large cupboard really - and my desk space is necessarily limited. I wish the desk had a bit more width and especially depth - 60cm/2ft depth is only _just_ enough even with the monitor on a clamp stand, and sometimes feels a little cramped. I also do not have a lot of space to push the chair out of the way when in standing mode, so if I start to pace I sometimes bump into the chair. First world problems...

I had one of the Ikea ones when they first started doing them maybe a decade ago. It was OK but I found I left it down a lot of the time and if I was standing I wasn't standing in a great posture anyway. Biggest thing was that it had no memory so it was always a bit of a faff going from one to the other and tweaking it up and down a bit to get it right. Ended up in the kids room. Due to change rooms around again at home so I'm tempted to try a Flexispot (with position memory this time). I found it was good for the afternoon lull you sometimes get although my WFH routine rarely has me sitting for hours at a time, I have a wireless headset and wander about if it's a long call, or nip downstairs to make a drink through the day.

so i used FlexiDesk first and the height adjustments were ok but not smooth. then i got a Dezctop desk with the lift system and modular D Boards. switching between sitting and standing throughout the day became effortless. my back feels way better now

Yes they are. You can even get a desk cycle or walking treadmill to make meetings a workout. I've got the Flexispot electric desk and it's been very good and on around £230 as a Black Friday deal.
