I got a flexispot frame and added my own worktop and absolutely love it. Have been using it for a couple of years with no issues and it goes up higher than any other desk I tried which is great for my height
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Standing Desk ->I got a frame from Amazon (SANODESK EZ1) for about £120 and a big bit of plywood and some woodstain from B&Q. I like it, it works fine.
r/UKFrugal • Best budget standing desk in UK ->I bought a flexispot but just the frame as I already had a desktop I wanted to use from Ikea - it was £135 and really easy to fit
r/UKFrugal • Best budget standing desk in UK ->I got a flexispot frame for £135, I already had a top I wanted to use from Ikea which was dirt cheap so just bought the frame. One reason I wanted a flexispot is it goes lower as well as higher. I’m average height (5ft6) and the average desk is too high for me (70 cm) so having something which goes lower is just as important as something which goes higher. Going to grab a stool to go with it
r/UKFrugal • Best budget standing desk in UK ->It’s great, I’ve had one for about a year. I bought a frame from Flexispot, and a nice desk top from Ikea. Monitor is on an arm so that’s also adjustable. I spend about half the day standing, half sitting. Buy a decent chair to go with it though.
r/AskUK • Home workers of the UK: Are standing desks worth it? ->I did the same, got a nice frame from flex spot and a massive fuckoff piece of oak that I couldn’t even get up the stairs without help. Definitely worth it and much nicer than the plastic mdf stuff they have.
r/AskUK • Home workers of the UK: Are standing desks worth it? ->I spent around $900 making mine. Its 6 feet long and 36 inches deep. My wife and I can both sit on it and it still will go up and down no problem. Flexispot legs a I bought a pine slab and finished it. Most desks that I bought (then returned) on Amazon would shake and wobble during use because they were cheap as hell and junk. The tops were all particle board with a laminate or paper top on them. If anything happens to the top of mine, I can refinish it. I can also opt to get a butcher block counter too to use, especially since I opted for the extra heavy duty legs.
r/WFH • solid diy standing desk plans that won’t fall apart? ->Yes they are worth it as long as you can get in the habit of using it. £500 is a lot though unless it's something special. You can pick up electric ones around £100-£150. I managed to pick up one similar to https://amzn.eu/d/9vay5nR on sale for £70. Integrated sockets aren't worth the extra to me. My preference would be to mount an extension lead underneath to hide them away. You can also get various mounting options for diy like this https://amzn.eu/d/hjQWlwC
r/AskUK • Home workers of the UK: Are standing desks worth it? ->Yes. I don't even use it for standing. I use it to get the right height for whatever I'm doing. Gaming I have it a set height. Working on something is another height. Mindless Teams call is on another height. I have a sanodesk. Probably just a knock of Amazon brand, but I've had no issues with it, and it was the only one at the cheaper end that had a single piece desktop. Flexispot are good but they expensive. If this one ever dies I would probably upgrade to something like Flexispot frame and buy a nice bit of hardwood for the desktop.
r/AskUK • Is a standing desk worth it? ->Flexispot is the best budget brand there is while still being good quality & good customer service. They have the best budget options in pretty much every style/weight capacity desk. You could also checkout the E6/E5 on Amazon.
r/StandingDesk • Best standing desk under $250 ->Same, I love my Flexispot desk. It has enough dept for 2 laptops and a third screen to all be used at the same time. Never had a problem raising/lowering it unless it came unplugged 😁 think I got it on Wayfair, have had it since 2020.
