I've looked into standing desks for over a year. I changed my unused dining room into my office and it's the first thing you see when you walk in my front door, so I wasn't too keen on the look of standard standing desks. I wanted something that kept the furniture look, so researched several Parsons-style desks. I went with Uplift because the company has been around awhile and has a 15-year warranty. What you want/need may be different, but I wanted to add my two cents for anyone researching. I had no real idea of what I might want or need outside of a desk that looks like a piece of furniture. I got the 48" x 30" white frame with the Ash Gray laminate top. I also purchased two Zilker monitor arms, which I mounted through the grommet holes. I got the writing mat for free to protect the laminate. Putting it together was fairly simple, but I'm an avid DIYer, so the drilling didn't intimidate me. If you aren't a DIYer, just use the included drill bit, clearly mark the holes with a Sharpie, and you'll be fine. The assembly instructions were easy to follow and I assembled by myself in about 30 minutes (not including the wire routing time). Once assembled, the desk is heavy and solid. One of the biggest questions people seem to have is about the possible wobble. At my standing height, 42.7, I grabbed the side and shook the desk and the monitors did shake a bit, but I think that was more because of the tension setting I have on the monitor arms - after some use, when I get them set how I like, I'll tighten the set screws. I pushed the Parsons up to the max height, and the wobble/monitor movement was the same. The wobble is minimal, but I imagine worse than a traditional standing desk with crossbars or two wide feet. When I stand and lean on the desk or move around to type, nothing moves. [https://imgur.com/wJuhGr4](https://imgur.com/wJuhGr4) \- video of wobble Wire management was a big issue for me. With my last desk, I attached a couple shelves underneath and pushed what I could into them. I didn't want to drill through the desk, so the monitor wires were obvious and ugly. The Uplift Parsons has channels through the frame that allow wires to be routed to wherever you want. There are also included sticky square things that you tape onto the bottom of the desk and feed a piece of velcro through that holds wires. I was able to nicely route/velcro the wires for two monitors (two cables each), my laptop charger, a lamp, and the desk. I used some 3M fabric velcro to attach the two "boxes" from the charger and monitor. I also attached a docking station using the sticky squares and two pieces of the velcro ties (if these don't last since the docking station is a bit heavy, I'll use the 3M velcro). The only wire you see coming from the desk is a power cord. I can't compare the sound the motors make when raising/lowering the desk to any other desks, but it isn't loud to me. I would be comfortable adjusting while on a call. My sister has a standing desk and she said it's no louder than hers (not sure of the brand). [https://imgur.com/yzMzEBx](https://imgur.com/yzMzEBx) \- video of motor noise (actually sounds louder in the video than in person) This is all the info I can think to include that I was worried about while researching, but if I missed anything, please feel free to ask. https://preview.redd.it/d0yg4tlt31zg1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f1d6f2f389a49313f54e4d7334c0b179150ece9 https://preview.redd.it/wv4505im31zg1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42e87a835c0d6ac599953239512f8b0cfd6b2eda https://preview.redd.it/wf551him31zg1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd839da4bf777987c5d83c17ff9808dbf9b7f67a https://preview.redd.it/mypb9ljm31zg1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e6fed298fc1b7d5dcb2730ce8df961069f14e27 https://preview.redd.it/0l5cx2im31zg1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc77d05b117ba795973b9d1d79f6974860a69df3

Agreed. Why worry about buying a nice-looking desk just for it to have messy wires everywhere. Was genuinely impressed with the wire management options with the Parsons.

Thank you! Here's the [power strip](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Philips-6-Outlet-Surge-Protector-10ft-Braided-Cord-1080J-White/586236553) and I used two long pieces of 3M [fabric velcro](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P8FWJHT?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1) I already had on the side to mount it. I made sure to also velcro any wire coming from the power strip to the bottom of the desk so they wouldn't pull on the strip. The Uplift power strips have very flat edges to fit flush against the desk and include metal hardware to mount on the side, but they only sell them in black, which would've been too obvious in my room. There aren't accessory mounting holes in the Parsons frame, but many of the accessories I saw on Uplift's site looked like the mounting bracket opened wide enough to grab onto the frame. The desk top and frame together are just over 2.5", so if you buy accessories with mounts that open at least 2.75", they should fit.

I’m a big fan of dual motor sit stand desks. Have not really cared about the brand, they likely come from the same production line and might not be worth the premium for a known brand name. I do recommend solid wood table top, I’ve got a birch butcher block one, 2ft by 6ft and been using it for over 5 years, looks barely used.

Love my Uplift 4-Leg! https://preview.redd.it/iezq1fzmss1h1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a38312d62a3bc8468a7546616987cbea357366ce

The two-leg Uplift desks are much heavier than you're imagining, stiff and very stable. Now if you put it on tall, soft carpet then it may wobble, but the 4 feet that actually sit on the ground would likely sink into carpet enough to stabilize it. NOTE: both the two and four-leg desks still only make contact with the ground at the four pad feet. The two-leg is just as stiff as the four leg, so any wobble will come from the surface you set it on

I think there are nuances when it comes to what people refer to as stability. Deskhaus is famous for the videos of pushing desks around at various heights and you can see them bounce around. I think at this point in the standing desk game the designs are so similar you may really not notice a difference between the 3 (i have the uplift 4 leg with connected feet) in that regard. I think rigidity is also important when it comes to something like monitor wobble. I had a thin 1 inch rubber wood which I hated because it was neither thick or rigid enough to absorb day to day actions. For example I could feel typing vibrations thru the rest of the desk which obviously can make monitor wobble more noticeable. This went away when I ended up swapping for a 1.75 inch walnut desktop. Point being I'd focus more on trying to get a thicker > 1.5 inch hardwood desktop. I think the added rigidity will help with monitor wobble.

I ended up getting the one from Uplift. 72x20 Walnut for 800. Haven't had to do any upkeep its kind of up to you. I used to care more and would put some oil on it periodically, haven't done that for years tho lol.

Uplift makes good 4 leg standing desks, but shipping might cost a lot more.

I have the uplift v2 3 leg L shaped desk and can sit (220 lbs) on it, and it seams like the motors do not notice the extra weight. So any uplift 4 leg would work really nice and quiet. I got uplift because a lot of other desks had loud motors

I got an Uplift desk because I tried out some other brands and most desks when at a standing height wobbled too much or had noisy motors. I did not go with the fully custom top but went with a solid bamboo top for about $1800. One option you could consider is only buying the frame from Uplift and getting a local top made to your preferences. If you can get someone to make you a top for less than $1500, you would be saving money.
