Vari - Electric Standing Desk 48x30

I've never used an Uplift, but I've been really happy with my Vari desk, which looks to be the same general design as the Uplift desks and around the same price.

Just chiming in to second that 48 inches is definitely enough. I have an L shaped desk at the office, and during lockdown, I got a 48 x 30 sit-stand desk (Vari) for my at-home set-up.  While I've recently changed it out for a longer desk, that was because I wanted space to sew, not because there wasn't enough room for my dual monitor work set-up.

I'll warn you off one. I got the [VariDesk](https://www.vari.com/electric-standing-desk-with-comfortedge-48x30/FD-ESDCE4830.html) b/c it was recommended as the sturdiest / hardest to tip over. While that part seems to be true, they put some of the control components directly in the center of the underside of the desk. I bang my knees on it dozens of times a day crossing or uncrossing my legs. Other than that the desk has been rock solid for almost 5 years now so the quality is there. Varidesk has one that sits on top of your current desk and easily pops up and down. Had one for years at my last job.

Independence day sales are right around the corner. Likely cant go wrong with standing desks that costco sells. Ive personally only had varidesk in my home and they are fine for the price if bought on sale. A tad bit wobbly especially when raised in the standing position but not terrible by any means. Ive heard great things about DeskHaus brand but they may be out of your price range unless they have a massive sale, or you decide the higher quality is worth the money. Hope this helps a little, if you have the opportunity to see the desk in person and test the sturdiness that would be best. For example, you could go to your nearest costco warehouse to see how you like the standing desk(s) they have in stock.

Vari Electric here—set it and forget it tank. The feet are longer than most which helps stability. Height change is slower than Uplift but quieter. Cable management isn’t fancy—just buy an under-desk raceway and velcro straps.

I had a budget one and it was fine. My last job paid for a vari brand one and it was nicer for sure. I typically use mine until lunch standing and the. Sit for an hour or two and then go back up. Worth it for sure.

I love my Vari. When I was shopping for one there was a deluge of cheap, foreign made ones. While I initially hesitated due to price I had to challenge my commitment to supporting Companies based in the US. I have not regretted the decision. It's well made, high quality, sturdy and is designed so you cannot possibly put it together incorrectly. Set up was a breeze and ready to understand. Since then, I've added some of the extras like attachable monitor arms, attachable laptop stand and monitor mount combo and attachable power and USB hub. I absolutely love my Vari desk.
