The single motor corner desks do only have a 5/8" thick desktop and can be counted as our value options. As you've found, they do work well and give you a lot of space for the price, but may not be quite as solid as the higher cost models with thicker desktops (our inch thick 83" x 60" kit with 3-motor frame costs 50% more than the 84" x 60" single motor desk). We hope it continues working well for you!
Used this VIVO Electric Stand Up Desk Frame... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H8SXRG9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share + a butchers block from home depot. Still standing since march :p
Bought a VIVO L shape. 500$ cad. 0 complaints. Owned others and its the same thing lol
I have a couple Vivo desks from Amazon. Most affordable and still working great years later.
I have a three monitor setup. No issues. My wife has two. They have also the accessories you need. If you buy another brand desk, I’d still consider their accessories. They’re also the best priced.
FlexiSpot is a great bet for a budget-friendly and reliable desk. They have a solid reputation and good customer service for parts if you ever need them. VIVO is another excellent choice, and they even let you buy spare parts directly from their website, which is a huge plus for long-term repairs.
I have a Vivo and a Flexispot EN1. Both are solid choices.
One thing I wish I knew before buying: they leak oil down the legs.
Mine is Vivo. From their customer support when I reached out to them: “We have checked with our tech team on this and they have confirmed that we have seen these leak the excess oil even after a long amount of time. It could be that it takes a certain amount of stress for it to flush out the excess, however, if there were no changes in performance by the desk, then this should not be anything to cause concern.” Nothing to cause concern? What about when it drips onto the carpet and stains it? Typically, if there is a change in performance in addition to the oil leaking, that would be cause for concern.
I have one from Vivo. Was decently easy to put together and is still working great 5 years later
Steelcase is often the standard for office environments, they just don't die. That said, they are crazy expensive. As a more budget friendly option that is still good quality, Consider the vivo brand ones on Amazon. It has worked great for me!
The number of motors is going to be a good initial indicator of performance. For example, a lot of Vivo desks have one motor driving two legs via a drive shaft, so their weight limit is a mere 220lb, and they move noticeably slower when loaded with weight. By comparison, my Uplift has one motor per leg, in addition to each motor having a higher weight and speed rating than a single Vivo. Also keep an eye out for safety features like collision detection; my Uplift will stop if something gets in its way, my Vivo won't, and while I get by without this, I do have to pay a lot more attention to my surroundings when changing desk heights on the cheaper desk. Chances are, if you get a desk frame with a motor for each leg, it will be more than enough for your needs, capacity-wise. Anything else is just icing on the cake like choice of control module. And as the other user noted, warranty is a good indicator of a brand's trust in their product. 10 years is not unreasonable.
