Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
Love my EVO SL, even more than my Vomero Plus for easy runs. I’ll definitely get these when my current pair are up for replacement this winter.
It’s lighter and bouncier. Though I’m an experienced hobby jogger, so I wouldn’t recommend it for new runners.
Pretty interesting, I saw they did this before with the Rise ATR (which I tried to order from ASOS last week and a pair of regular Rise 2s turned up in the box) but that had a much more substantial Continental sole that looked genuinely super grippy. I’ve never experienced much slippage with my SLs but I was surprised to see that RunRepeat scored them as really low in the traction test, 0.40, which is lower than lots of Sauconys that are regarded as being really slippery
I’ll be all over these like a rash. Just what I’m looking for in a winter shoe
Absolute no brainer for me as a UK runner. Good for run group on the road in the rain with leaves underfoot. Good for parkrun. Hopefully easy to clean, and doesn’t get too wet inside too. I was wanting a winterised MTC H1 but I’ll grab these in an instant (if real).
Mount to Coast H1 or Adidas Evo SL ATR. At the moment I think I prefer the MTC, but the Adidas are black and somewhat water resistant so better in the rain!
I run on dirt trails in a forest, it’s pretty even overall but the evo sl is too slippery when it rains for a day and some mud appears. I think that’s gonna be my fav shoe, we’ll see
The original is the ideal shoe but I've slipped in them on wet roads or tracks. This solves that problem.
Wow. Really interesting! I’ve got 561 miles in my EVO SLs so far and they still makes me happy every time i start a run in them. They’ve been my everyday trainer this summer and while travelling with them as the only brought running shoe they’ve seen plenty of trails as well. While not the most stable I honestly questioning those who claim to twist their ankles as soon as they’re stepping off-road… just come on… I’ve seen quite some (although probably pretty capable) runners do ultras with a fair bit of rooty single tracks wearing Nike Ultraflys while still crushing it, thinking it’s more beneficial for them to sacrifice some stability for the gains they get with a super shoe. If the grip in these ATRs can cope with wet and slippery trails I wouldn’t mind bringing them to the next rece as a compliment for my Agravic Speed Ultras…
Sweet, I love my Evo SLs but they are absolutely terrible in the wet. If there's even a hint of dew they're sliding around. If they managed to get more traction without much more weight I'll be happy
Given the sole and the height of the lugs, I wouldn't use them anywhere other than wet asphalt, certainly not on muddy trails, but possibly on dry ones. However, it's a good initiative from Adidas, because I find the SL2 version sensational, so comfortable and responsive. Just FYI, the lug depth of the ATR is 1.5mm vs the H1’s 2mm. It’s not a huge difference, both fall into the category of “road to trail” or gravel shoes. Neither are going to be suitable at all for technical stuff, and neither are going to be bad on gravel trails / fire roads / dirt roads etc. I’d go for what fits best as they are both awesome shoes with awesome foams.
I hope they keep the upper the exact same bar a bit more support, the more spacious toebox is one of the biggest selling points for me for the sl
I love them for that too, granted the faster end of easy but they are just the right mix or lightweight but stacked for me to cruise along with them. Never used the volmero but looks bulky
Never had a stability issue with them personally
I run in the rain in my park with them all the time without much issue, they are not as good as my adios pro 3s or endorphin pro 4s but they work, unlike the novablast that I found unusable in anything but bone dry weather.
