I’m a certified Nike hater so I’d say there are a thousand better options. The adidas speed ultra is comfortable and speedy but a bit unstable. I recently get the speed ultra 2 and it’s been great. I’ve always ran in hoka Speedgoats which are super cozy but I was running slow. As I’ve sped up, I have switched to the ultra speed.
The do feel stable and very responsive, they really roll you forward. I haven’t had them long but I’m a big fan so far.
I got the Speedgoat 7, hated them. Got the adidas ultra speed 2 and the mount to coast T1 and have really enjoyed both
I use the speed ultra 2, they’re very light and fast. I like them but they are hard on my calves. But mostly the days following haha. I do feel like they work against me with I’m fatigued and start heel striking, but if you don’t have that problem then you should be good to go

This is the answer. I have the Evo SL for everything non-trail and the speed ultra 2 for trails
ASU 2’s are amazing. I wore the originals past 400 miles and the 2’s are an improvement on those.
I ran 100k in original ASU. No issues, but I did a lot of my long runs in them to ensure I liked them. I’ve transitioned to the ASU 2 now and wow - such an upgrade. I absolutely feel they make me faster and more efficient. I recently demo’d the ACG Ultrafly on very steep technical trails and they beat up my Achilles. May be a different story on groomed rolling single track though.

The Ultra has more spring in it. I absolutely love the shoe. I’ve used it on a 5K trail race all the way up to 100K trail race and everything in between.
Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra. Super fast. ETA: the non ultra version is also fast, lower stack height and no plate.
Not sure about that. Ran at 3:45min/km in mine yesterday. I only wear them when I want to go fast and I’ve got over 400km on them.

Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra 2. Super fun. Super fast. I put 500km+ on the originals in every type of trail imaginable. The 2’s are even better.
I change it up between Nike Zegama 2, Speedgoat 5, and Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed & Speed Ultra. Always rocking my Salomon Adv Skin 5 pack and Carbon Z poles.
Adidas Terrex Agravic speed ultra. So fun and fast.
I have pretty wide feet. I went true to size and they work really well for me. Just played with the laces to get them right. Took around 20-30k to adjust to them but now I’ve Put around 300k on them so far with no issues. They’re fun to run in!
I have about 30 miles on the T1s and like them. I've only used them in kind of muddy conditions and dry though, not rain or light snow. The upper seems more comfortable than the Terrex Agravic Ultras which I went thru 2 pairs of beforehand
11 Road: - Saucony Endorfine Speed 3 (retired) - Adidas Takumi Sen 8 (intervals, ~5k races) - 2x Adidas Evo SL (daily trainer, 3rd pair ready to go) - Adidas Pro 4 (just used for a HM) - ASICS Superblast 2 (used for long runs, ultras, dislike) - Brooks Adrenaline 22 (retired, just for hikes) Trail: - Saucony Peregrine 13 (stiff, only when muddy) - Hoka Speedgoat 5 (have miles left, but Zegama are infinitely more comfortable - sort of retired) - Nike Zegama 2 (daily trail trainer / trail ultras, new pair ready to go) - Adidas Agravic Speed ultra (short trail races, gives me heel blisters)
Endorphin edge had a great ride but holy shit the rubber has zero grip on wet surfaces. It was closer to ice skating than running. Closest to them in terms of feel would be the adidas agravic speed ultra, really roll you through the stride like a road shoe but not the most stable. Carbon trail shoes have moved away somewhat from being ultra responsive. They are now more stable than they were and offer more control for the foam. Endorphin edge used a road plate and geometry which is why it was a fast but unstable shoe on technical terrain. Personally loved it for open firetrail
Tecton x2 is one of my favourite trail shoes. Not a soft ride and not the quickest I have used but does everything I want really well. Is hard wearing too. Personally I would say the tecton x3 is the quicker shoe. Much bouncier ride though does sacrifice some stability for it. Adidas speed ultra. You dont have issues rolling ankles? You will in these shoes. Fastest shoe ive tried on open fire trail but you hit the slightest bump wrong and it tries to murder you. Definitely not for heel strikers. Fit didn't agree with me either so gave them away. I will echo other that the prodigio pro might just be the best all round shoe I have used on the market. Not plated but holds speed just as well and handles technical terrain with ease. Sizing can be tricky with them though Have tried the metafuji trails on and the heel felt wildly squishy and unstable. Seeing them used on trails confirmed that for me. Everyone I have seen using them collapses in badly through the heel once they get off the forefoot
