Got a pair of Asics GT2000 GTX that will grip on anything except blank ice, while keeping my feet dry. I don’t mind the snow or cold but the last few days we’ve had winds. I can dress to handle the cold expect for the face, which starts to get cold in seconds.

If you run in the winter in the wet you have to accept that your feet will get wet. IME it's better to have a shoe that breathes when they get wet rather than a shoe that will get wet and then keep your feet wet/moist. Running in goretex shoes always leads to blisters for me. Trail shoes are generally inherently more stable. If you like asics, there is a GT 2000 trail version with more grip.

I’m proportionately heavier at 5’6” and 190ish. I’ve run in Saucony Peregrines for over a decade, but just added Asics GT2000TR to the rotation as my mileage continues to increase.

GT-2000 TR. They're light stability daily trainers with some small cleats in the TR version. Grippy rubber too imo

I use ASICS GT2000 TR as my do it all travel shoes, with which I’ve been doing everything you describe: city walking, hiking/trail runs and easy runs.

Appreciate the Altra Olympus 6 rec! And I definitely plan to try any of these on, just trying to start with a long list -- haven't hiked enough in trail runners yet to know my preferences. I know that Asics trail running shoes feel great even on 20+ mile days for me, but I find that they wear out quite quickly and imagine this might be why I see them recommended less on here.
