Brooks Divide would be great. Non technical means different things to different people. To me, I would use road shoes on a non technical trail. I ran Javelina 100k in Brooks Ghosts
r/trailrunning • Lightweight trail shoe that also doubles as a road runner? ->Brooks Divide is marketed as an all-terrain shoe. The rubber is harder than things like mega-grip and the lugs are shallower than typical trail shoes. I bought a pair to try out since I generally run exclusively in trail shoes, even when logging city miles. My take is they truly are an “all terrain” concept, so when I’m on roads they are fine and when I’m on gross (wet or muddy) trails I do notice the lost traction, but they get by and are much better than a road shoe. On dry trail I cannot tell a noticeable difference with something more aggressive. Would recommend, but if you are OK with more aggressively wearing down some trail shoes, I’d just get a pair of trail shoes. I still prefer my Hoka Speedgoats over anything.
r/ultrarunning • Best hybrid shoes ->Trail runners - I run my street and treadmill stuff in Hokas but do not like their trail runners, so I use Brooks Divides. I get at least 2 years out of a pair, playing 2x weekly. Fantastic grip and feel. Only problem is they're not waterproof.
r/discgolf • Disc golf shoes? ->Brooks Divides, been using the 3's and 5's with zero issues.
r/discgolf • Looking for durable minimalist-style trail running shoes that hold up to disc golf. ->Brooks Divide, marketed as a hybrid trail shoe. I used it comfortably during my transition from road to trails. I would wear it for the very rugged trails though.
r/trailrunning • Lightweight trail shoe that also doubles as a road runner? ->Check out Brooks Divides. They are a hybrid shoe for trail and road. I find them to be very stable. I also love Brooks Cascadias but they have a rock plate which can be really firm.
r/trailrunning • Trail shoes for weak ankles ->I would try a pair of Brooks Divide 5 trail runners; it’s a model designed for both running on pavement and easy trails. I bought three pairs for easy hiking (dirt, gravel, grass, rock), and I’ve really liked how they feel as they’ve helped me with my Achilles problems. I’m well over 300 miles on each and they’ve held up quite well. Brooks says they’re a 300-500 mile shoe. But best of all they’re super affordable at around $100 bucks. Recently, I’ve seen them sold for as low as $76. I consider them a great buy. Check ‘em out...!
r/hikinggear • Is it reasonable to have 1 pair of shoes for hiking, trail running, and walking on paved paths? ->When did they discontinue the Divide? I saw it on their site a few months ago. Actually, I think the Divide 5 is a bargain of a shoe for its price. Excellent shoe for easy trails. And if one suffers from Achilles tendonosis, the high drop on them is a lifesaver…
r/trailrunning • Brooks Ghost Trail ->Currently working through a pair of Divide 5. I personally love them. They have nice cushion and I didn’t feel the typical need to wear them in feel that most new shoes have. The toe box isn’t large so would consider that depending on your foot size.
r/Rucking • Looking for rucking shoes ->The Divide works well for me on the road and is so much better on light trails than a road shoe.
r/trailrunning • Hybrid running shoe ->Adidas Agravic 3's tend to go no sale quite often. That's a solid trail shoe. Brooks Divide is also a solid budget option - cheap to begin with and they also go on sale. Keep an eye out for Merrell sales too - Long Sky 2 Matryx is great, but the regular non-Matryx version is also good, and cheaper.
r/trailrunning • Need help choosing budget trail running shoes ->I bought a pair of Divide 5 (non-GTX) on sale at around 85€, they are pretty decent trainers, used them on road to trail and even on technical with good results, kinda slippery on wet terrain and wouldn't use them for an ultra but I think they are good all around cheap shoes, the kind OP probably wants for a first pair until they figure out what they need/prefer, the only problem I had is that the upper was tearing already at around 350km (the outsole seems very durable though). I'm currently running with other shoes so cannot comment on the performance after 350km but I think I'll squeeze at least another 300km out of them, so they are worth the price
r/trailrunning • I want to buy my first trailerunning shoe. Is this a good choice? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
