I have a few different trail shoes that work in the mud: - Salomon speedcross (I think the 4): best I’ve tried but horrible on the road - new balance summit unknow v4: surprisingly good on mud, drain water well and can run ok on road. Sizing is a bit weird but if you can get the right fit I think they are a really good compromise for lots of terrains. Not super cushioned though Others: Nb hierro v7, asics trabucco max 2, North Face Enduris 4 (love these shoes by the way for everything other than deep mud) are ok on light mud but when it get really deep and thick don’t have the right lugs. All that being said, there is muddy trail and muddy trail - what are you really dealing with ?

Just saw this is on sale now, and I haven’t seen any reviews online. Has anyone tried these? I loved the NB summit unknown v4 and I’m hoping these might have a similar fit (although they look much higher stack).

That’s interesting, thanks. I had the summit unknown v4 who had no plate but the fuelcell foam and I actually really liked that they were low stack with very good foot hold and enough cushion to do a little bit of road. That being said not much energy return also. But given they are lower stack I got some good push off the ground

Ok I tried these in the London NB store. I was overall unimpressed for a premium shoe. On the same day I tried the Sylan 2, ultrafly, Agravic Ultra, s/lab genesis, rocket x trail, TNF sky 2 and ended up buying the TNF pro 3, and this one felt nowhere as exciting and premium. Very short shoe for me (had to go up in size). Upper needed synching down for me and hold seemed actually good. Midsole felt relatively soft, plate not too hard. Outsole is more of a summer/ groomed trails type of lug. Would probably make a really nice comfortable daily if you get the size right, but a lot less exciting than all the others which are in a similar price.

I currently use new balance garoe, previous ones were fuel cell. As with all new balance you wear them in and not wear them out. Perfect trail grip too.
