Peg Trail is a great shoe. I have the Peg Trail 5. Apparently, the ACG Peg uses the same foam, with modifications mostly to the outer (it's grippier) and upper. If you get the Peg Trail 5 for a huge discount, you might prefer saving the money and then you can decide, if you'll be running more trails, you want a more dedicated trail shoe. The Peg Trail is great for everything up to moderately technical in my experience. The foam is firmer than some of the top trail (or road) shoes (like the ZoomX in the Zegama or the more trail-focused brands), but it is a great all round shoe. Add the Mount to Coast H1 and Salomon Aero Glide 4 Grvl into your list, but they're a bit more expensive.
I just bought the recently released Nike ACG pegasus Trail shoes (essentially the Pegasus Trail 6) for my all-in-one travel shoe. I also like to run as well during my travels.
They are so comfortable and easy to run it. I agree about it being a great holiday shoe. Whenever I am away I just want to explore the areas around me running/hiking/biking. That can take me on a trail, beach, mountains, roads, this shoe can do it all comfortably and also looks nice for walking around.
