I'm in an 11 in the Cloudultra Pro and an 11.5 in the ultra 3's. I have odd sized feet though, where I'm either between an 11 and an 11.5 and can seldom find that perfect fitting shoe (thank you Salomon s/lab Genesis). I was initially in an 11.5 in the Pro's, but was kicking so many rocks and catching my toes I had to go down a half size. I don't find that to be the case in the Cloudultra 3. I feel like the 3's have more volume in the toebox and are more spacious than the Pro's. They also feel more stable than the Pro's as well.

I switched from the lone peaks for probably 6-8 years after a bout of planter fasciitis. Pt recommended On clouds. I have been in the could ultra 2 and 3 with no issues. I also tore my Achilles while on Team Altra but never correlated the two.

My Cloudultra 3 are brilliant, serving me well for comfortable trail runs when I'm not in Norda. Was wondering why CU 1 & 2 hadn't been on my radar!

The fit is very similar to the pro, moderate heel leading to a more narrow midfoot and a wide toe box. There is a nice amount of volume in the toe box as well, so it should accommodate moderately wide feet well. The ride is solid, responsive and stable with the foam being softer than past versions. I’ve enjoyed the 3s for the 30 or so miles I’ve put on them, love the pros though

My first real trail shoe and I wanted something that I could use to attack our muddy, mushy and a touch of rocky terrain trails. Had heard first impressions about that they feeling stiff and not so cushioned, my feeling is the opposite. they feel perfect on muddy trails, responsive, fast and balanced. Almost to soft and unstable sometimes, but might be due to heavy rainfall that has affected the trails. Can’t compare to other trail shoes, but Uses evo Sl and Mach x2 as road shoes and feel that the cloud ultra 3 is the perfect trail companion.

Have the 3 and the Pro. The 3’s are decent but absolutely love the Pros. Personally no issues with durability, they’re about in line with other similar models.

Trail: Hoka Speedgoat 5, Brooks Catamounts, Altra Lonepeak 7, On Cloudultra 3, On Cloudultra Pro Road: Altra Torin 7, Altra Fwd Experience, New Balance Rebel v5 Sitting at around 1,800 miles for the year, favorite shoe this year has been the Cloudultra 3 which (at 250+ miles on them) still feel great to run in. Only reason they rank over the pros is because they are cheaper and feel more like an everyday kinda trail shoe that can compete with the trail supershoes on the market. The Pros are my race shoe and pretty much only get worn for that purpose.

I’ve been loving the On Cloudultras I moved initially from the speedgoats to the Brooks Catamounts though.

I have been going through some serious shoe testing because I've been struggling with some odd calf tightness after 5 years in Lone Peaks, several long utras, and lots of trail and road miles. I have enjoyed so far: * North Face Altamesa 300: specifically made with a wider-toe last than their other shoes. The toe box volume is also roomy enough that my toes aren't slamming the upper. heel: 31 mm, stack: 6 mm * On Cloudultra 3: not specifically different, but when I put them on the roominess in the toe box was adequate without feeling floppy. heel: 32.5 mm, stack: 6 mm * Norda 002: these feel like the Lone Peaks when I put them on. They can feel kind of floppy/slappy if you aren't used to that, but given your experience with LPs you'd likely like them. I know you said that you can't find them locally, but size-wise I did have to go a whole 1.5 sizes above my usual size (up to 9.5 from an 8). Helpful details: * longest second toe (Morton's toe) * relatively wide space between my big toe and second toe such that the width at the ball is the same as the width at the widest part of my toes * arch is on the higher side * I supinate moderately (underpronate)

On does make some solid trail shoes, but they tend to work best for mixed or moderate trails rather than really technical terrain. Models like the Cloudultra are designed more for long-distance trail running and ultra efforts. They’re known for being comfortable and breathable, and they handle gravel, dirt, and rocky trails fairly well with good grip and stability. But they aren't always ideal for very technical mountain trails. If you like the feel of your On road shoes, the Cloudultra or Cloudventure are probably the closest trail equivalents.

When I started trail running, I went with the Mafates - I thought they were a good middle ground trail shoe and they were great. Then I got the On CloudUltra and hated them - for all the hype they felt like running with cinder blocks for the soles. Now with Speedgoats.
