I got my On CloudUltra Pro’s a couple of weeks ago, and after hemming and hawing about not getting them in my Brannock device measured size of 12.5 I’ve accepted that going up a half size to a 13 in these $260 trail running shoes was a good choice for me. When spending hours on your feet more room is definitely better.

These new breathable uppers like the Cloudultra Pro have don’t really lend themselves to forming around your feet. But I’ve not gotten to 100 miles yet in these On shoes which are my first pair from that company, so we shall see.

I'm in an 11 in the Cloudultra Pro and an 11.5 in the ultra 3's. I have odd sized feet though, where I'm either between an 11 and an 11.5 and can seldom find that perfect fitting shoe (thank you Salomon s/lab Genesis). I was initially in an 11.5 in the Pro's, but was kicking so many rocks and catching my toes I had to go down a half size. I don't find that to be the case in the Cloudultra 3. I feel like the 3's have more volume in the toebox and are more spacious than the Pro's. They also feel more stable than the Pro's as well.

Long time Bushido II guy myself, actually have 2 unopened men’s size 10s in my garage if you need one 👌 The On Cloud Ultra Pro is truly unbelievable— used it to train weeks of flat road miles on a beach trip, scrambling some ridges, and have worn them for 160km without ever having to tie or adjust them over the whole endeavor. What’s more, I have one pair with 650+km and another with 500+km on them and they’re still kicking.

Ride is close - has a smoother, less aggressive ride compared to some other super shoes, similar to the Tecton X 3. I'm always surprised by my paces then I run in that shoe - just feels efficient. This has a similar kind of feel.

I was actually just walking around in them this weekend casually and it was noticeable how fresh they felt, not much if any noticeable compression.

Yes, I noticed some pinching on the lateral side - right at the edge of my foot, base of my pinky toes. The material seems to "crinkle" up at that point. I didn't notice it anywhere else across the toebox. But that spot was very noticeable. I was very concerned about it, but it was a non-issue over the 108K race. It has softened a little bit, but I still feel it - but again, it hasn't caused me any irritation or blister.

It's on par, maybe slightly better. I think the lacing here gives you a better hold around the midfoot, but the shoe overall is pretty roomy, especially in the toebox. A lot will depend on how your foot fills up the volume inside the upper.

The fit is very similar to the pro, moderate heel leading to a more narrow midfoot and a wide toe box. There is a nice amount of volume in the toe box as well, so it should accommodate moderately wide feet well. The ride is solid, responsive and stable with the foam being softer than past versions. I’ve enjoyed the 3s for the 30 or so miles I’ve put on them, love the pros though

Have you tried the On Cloud Ultra Pro? I want to love the ASU but at tempo pace on the trail I cannot think about anything other than flipping my ankle. They feel so unstable (or maybe that’s just my ankles at pace..). I found the On shoe is still pretty quick but feels much more confidence inspiring, especially on descents.

I found the Ultra Pro to be like no other On shoe (in a positive way..), but I generally find my ankles are the first thing to go when running hard/faster at race pace. As noted, I want to love the ASU, and it feels like the only trail super shoe on smooth/fast trails, but I may end up selling the extra pairs I purchased for racing and replacing them with the On shoe.

Maybe consider the On Cloudultra Pro. The terrain sounds perfect for it. It’s a fast and comfortable race day shoe. The toe box is surprisingly accommodating and the foam will be far superior to what you’ll get in a Speedgoat or Genesis.

Man I really wanted to love these shoes. I wore them in a 50k this weekend and had to drop halfway through. Didn't notice it while running but once I stopped at an aid station, I had shooting pain through my arches. I've got low arches and these have a bunch of built in arch support from what I can tell. As they say, don't try anything new on race day 🤦 could barely walk back to my car! Fun shoe otherwise.

I tried them yesterday in a shop, really comfy shoes, the toebox is surprisingly wide enough and good volume for my Mid to Wide feet, but! when walking the upper was bending and putting pressure on the beginning of the toes, making the ride quite unpleasant. Dunno why ON decided to use this hard mesh, will this bending go away after break-in? PS: Size was weird, with my usual ON 11.5 with these shoes, it wasn't at ease as the CloudEclipse, I also tried size 12 which was better in terms of length (thumbs wide empty) but the volume was obviously too much by the look of it.

Do you get any bend from the upper when walking? If yes does it go away after break-in period?

New Balance Hierro, wide, they are comfortable but pretty heavy. Just got a pair of OC Cloudultra Pros, medium width, little spendy at $260, but they are supposed to be a wider than normal. Also got a pair of 13W SG 5's off ebay.

I’d stick to the tectons! - there’s the rocket x trail if you aren’t running on anything technical but I love the sock liner on the tectons because it stops all the little irritating bits of dirt getting in. That said, the on cloud ultra pro is a great shoe, and one I find myself reaching for quite frequently.

My latest road shoes collection update. I'd say I'm set and content now and for a good long while. Famous last words, I know, but I really can't think of anything else I'm interested in except maybe the Dynafish Xiaonian which is only available from a Chinese site. I also have the TYR Maverick-V1 that hasn't made its way to this showcase, but very impressed by its performance. The only shoe I'm really looking forward to next year is the Superblast 3. Currently, the shoes that are getting the most mileage are the Megablast, Velocity Nitro 4, Vomero Premium, Vomero Plus, Neo Zen, and Wave Sky 9. Older shoes with lots of mileage in their boxes but used occasionally are: Rebel v3, Mach X 2, Deviate Nitro 2 & 3, Hyperion Max 2, Sky & Edge Paris, more pairs of the PXSv1 in the OG off-white color, Takumi Sen 10 & 9, Adios 9, SL2, Mount to Coast R1, S1, and P1, 1080v13, Glycerin Max, and Skyward X. https://preview.redd.it/f614upym640g1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=852f5dc9bcd3f46a2d7c6751cc376e3c5ced657d

And here's the latest updated trail collection. Trail running takes up around 40% of my mileage so there's an appropriate number of trail shoes compared to the road shoes. Like with the road shoes, pretty happy and feeling set with these for now and through most of 2026. The only trail shoes coming next year, so far, that I have some mild interest in is the Brooks Cascadia Elite, but it could be redundant when compared to shoes like the Tecton X 3 and Cloudultra Pro. The trail shoes that are getting the most mileage lately are the Cloudultra Pro, Prodigio Pro, MTC H1 & T1, and Enduris 4. I have over 200 miles each on two pairs of Tecton X 3, so backing off those for a while. Ditto for the Speed Ultra and Vectiv Pro 2, which I also have two pairs of each and with around 150 miles on each pair. Really enjoying the MTC H1 for the road-to-trail excursions (13\~15 miles) which I like to go on every Sunday. The Agravic Speed and Puma DNE Trail are two other shoes I use for road-to-trail, but the H1 just feel and ride better for the road and flatter trail terrains. Can't say I really 'need' anything more now but I'm sure I'll always be checking on new stuff coming out. https://preview.redd.it/k6edk126940g1.jpeg?width=503&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1edfeb64134c7dfde6873e6f375d6cd30027362f

I’ve recently picked up a pair of the On CloudUltra 6mm drop, spacious toe box… been pretty happy with them. Yes a bit pricey $180 feel like a $150 shoe. Wanted to try them after a friend was raving about how well the pro performed during her mountain 100. But didn’t want to splurge on those yet. Heck if they work for Katie Schide they have to be a legit trail shoe.

Yes! I kept going back to them, like I said, I owned four pairs! I will see if I'm doing a harder or more challenging hike, I definitely grab my hiking boots. I'm also curious to try the On cloud trail runners. I have a pair of On cloud running shoes right now, and wore those on an easy hike and they were fabulous. I'd love to see the tread on the cloud trail runners though!

Try On cloud trail runners. They make waterproof versions. I have the on cloud mid hiking shoe.i need the extra ankle support due to an old injury. They are super comfortable for long hikes.

Counter- I had Timp 5 Mid goretex and they lasted 1 season. Not a rep, first-hand experience. Those were told to me to be hikers not trail runners by a rep themselves. The only less durable shoes I've owned is OnCloud.
