I haven't really been a regular Salomon trail runner, as I've always leaned towards other brands, but lately I've been using the Genesis and the Ultra Glide 4. They're pretty different, but both are awesome on the right trails. The Genesis especially—since that's the one you mentioned—is a really solid, well-made, and tough shoe. Despite my lack of experience with the brand, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
What distances do you plan? They're both good, but the Zegama (I had the 2 and loved them) are great for long distance and technical terrain. The Peg's are more light gravel shoes, and I had the 4's and the outsole wore off after like 300kms, and weren't very grippy in the wet. I just bought the Salomon Ultra Glide 4's after waiting for the ACG Zegama 3 to release but couldn't wait anymore and I really really like them. They feel similar to the Zegamas, but a bit lighter and softer, which I think will come in handy for my 80Km Alpine trail this summer. But if you're doing shorter distance and your terrain isn't very technical, maybe you prefer less max-stack shoes like the Aero GRVL or Peg Trails
My go to shoes, don't have anything else anymore
I’ve been loving the Salomon Ultra Glide 4.
North Face Enduris 4 or On Cloudultra Pro are super comfy(biased I have both). Trabuco is pretty soft, its a higher volume shoe imo. I have tried Ultra Glide 4 and its pretty cushy and stable. Also, Wildhorse if you have a lower volume foot.
I have over 70 miles in mine. Awesome shoe so far. I bought the wide version, excellent choice since they typically run narrow.
