To the Saucony Xodus Ultra! Each pair has over 500 miles of trail and they still feel great. Oh, and a definite runner-up shout out to the Mad Rivers in the back. I wish Saucony brought those back. Moving on to the Xodus 2's, which so far seem just as good.
I use the Saucony TR2 and also have wide feet. They are fine for a couple of km on pavements but drag easily if you run tired and donβt pick your feet up. Once you hit the gravel, grass, or mud then they come alive.
Iβve had decent luck with 4mm saucony shoes. But another great training aid for me is to hike in zero drop for building strength and run in the slightly cushier shoes. Might help keep you more robust.
