Same! I’m sad they discontinued the Mad River though.
I use the Saucony TR2 and also have wide feet. They are fine for a couple of km on pavements but drag easily if you run tired and don’t pick your feet up. Once you hit the gravel, grass, or mud then they come alive.
I’ve had decent luck with 4mm saucony shoes. But another great training aid for me is to hike in zero drop for building strength and run in the slightly cushier shoes. Might help keep you more robust.
