In addition to these, the Saucony Ride TR2’s have been great for me as long as you don’t need more advanced features like a rock shield
I’m neutral with average arch both feet. My most common shoes are 8mm drop - I have in my rotation 6 mm drop also which is totally fine. I tried zero drop a couple of years ago in road shoes but it wasn’t for me (although that pair of Altras became my favorite casual sneaker - great for walking)! The selection at my local running store (and a couple of sporting goods stores) was very limited. I ended up ordering Saucony Ride TR2 since I love the road version of these. Got delivered yesterday so going to take them for a spin tomorrow. I did dig the Peregrines out of my closet and did an easy run with them on a trail Saturday. They seemed better than I remembered, probably because the trail I had run in them before was very technical and this one was pretty benign other than a few roots. So I’m hopeful that I will like the new rides Tr2 and will plan to take the Peregrines too so I can change out between them and maybe everything will be relatively dry and my road shoes will also work. In my last 24 hour, I felt like changing shoes out every few hours kept me feeling fresher and reduced stress on my feet.
I ordered Ride TR2 - there was next to nothing in my local running shop. They were delivered yesterday. I have a workout today but tomorrow am going to take them for a test run out at a reservoir with some popular trails. Since selection was so limited, and I had to order, I stuck with the Rides since I love the road version. Also thinking maybe this winter I will get potentially some use out of it just as an alternative if there’s a little weather - better grip than road shoes but yaktrax not warranted.
If it’s not really technical more mellow then Saucony Ride TR2 is nice.
Saucony Ride TR2 is a pretty decent option- feels like a road shoe on the road, but also feels solid and stable on trails. Not an aggressive lug, but if it’s not too sloppy/ slippery they would be decent. I use them as a daily shoe where I have about 3km between my house and the trails.
Saucony Ride TR2 is a decent hybrid shoe- feels very much like a road shoe when running on pavement, and has enough grip for mild trails. I live 3km from trails so my daily runs are a mix, and this was a great compromise.
Just got some Saucony Ride TR2's and they are awesome for mud and off-road conditions. Saucony are my go to brand for running shoes.
I just picked up the Saucony Ride TR2 after a recommendation on this sub. I took them out for a spin today and really liked them. They're not quite as soft as the regular Rides (which are my favourite daily trainer) but compared to the Juniper Trail 2 which I'd been using previously they were like clouds.
According to what I can see on their site, the Saucony Ride TR2 used PWRRUN+. It's a little more of a road-to-trail shoe so the lug depth may not meet your needs if you run on really muddy or technical trails, but it might be worth trying if that foam is a must-have for you. FWIW, the Triumph 20, which looks like it had PWRRUN+ lasted me longer than any other mid-sole I've used (550mi), so there may be something on the longevity claim.
