Versatile road-to-trail, but struggles on wet, technical downhills.

mine tore in the center between the outsole at the heel after 90k or so. got a refund without debate. still weird. otoh Xodus Ultra 4 are great.
I find it really roomy, and I am quite sensitive in thst regard.
As a runner who has some stability needs, I am very happy with Saucony Xodus Ultra 4. Grippy outsole, stable ride, good foam. Seem to be discounted in many places these days..
I loved this shoe until they put the rock guard in the toe, now it rubs the shit out my big right toe. Wife has these and loves them. I ran the soles off v1 and v2.
saucony xodus ultra 4 almost the perfect shoe.
My go to for 50k and under. The xodus is also a great shoe with some more cushion, they are bulkier and you’ll want to heal lock them if your heal is rolling on downhills.
I run the Brooks Casscadia or the Saucony Xodus
You might be happy with Saucony Xodus Ultra 4. I’m not sure they make them in wide, but the standard fit is comfortable for my wide feet!
As a saucony lover I recommend xodus ultra 4. I loved the v1 and v2, total fail with v3 but now with these, Vibram mega grip sole, breathable and good for all terrain. After 200km on first pair I never had a problem
The first version was the perfect ultra shoes to me. This one, love it but a little too high stack and something changed front foot room (personal feelings). Xodus 4 is more than good for lot of trails, races and training sessions.
Saucony peregrine e xodus. Because my feet are happy with them
Might be helpful, I hiked the Dolomites last year in the Saucony Xodus Ultra 4 and they were incredibly well cushioned for those long days on the trail. However, I've tried to take them trail running as well as hiking on rockier/rootier terrain in the Adirondacks since and they ended up being far too unstable on that terrain (I don't normally have stability issues) because of the stack height + softness of the foam in the heel. I ended up getting a pair of Puma Fast Trac 4s that have been handling that kind of terrain much better (31mm vs 36mm in the heel) but don't have much milage on them yet.
