[Scott Supertrac RC 2 Trail Laufschuhe | SportsShoes.com](https://www.sportsshoes.com/de-de/product/sco125/scott-supertrac-rc-2-trail-laufschuhe?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=DE_PMax_All%20-%20High%20Performance&utm_id=19964094225&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw5PK_BhBBEiwAL7GTPcIUlJcccYzFQXrHQqe2_bqcuBjxeOzlALSLEpXMBuflL0sVQyaYlRoCBvcQAvD_BwE) I got two pairs because they are soo good and really cheap because there is a version 3 on the market. i always go for the past season models cause most of the time they are almost as good and for a fraction of the price.

As someone else suggested, Sportshoes.com. I'd recommend Scott Supertrac RC2's. They're more like a running shoe than inov8s but still have loads of grip for mud and wintery stuff.

I was gonna say norda 002, they are the most stable shoes I've owned, and they have a better heel counter but they won't be much cooler than than the 001. I find my Scott supertrac RC 2 feel very nimble and inspired confidence going downhill, but the rubber isn't as sticky as say vibram. I haven't tried the more recent versions, but Nike Terra kigers have also ticked these boxes for me in the past. The upcoming version will have vibram rubber too.

I ran Laugavegur a couple of years ago. Amazing race just the the journey to the start blows your mind. I don’t remember it being muddy but there was running in packed ice and a few river crossings. I ran in Asics Fujitrabuco Skys, they are very minimal with deep wide grips. They were ideal for the hilly parts but there’s a lot of fast packed ground which they weren’t so great. The shoes I own now that I would use are Scott RC2 though speedcross would be good. Enjoy.

I have a pair of Scott Supertrac rc2 shoes. Midsole collapsed within 100km. Took it back to the store "that's just normal wear and tear in the mountains". Some brands are ridiculously bad

I wore few different pairs just because they were cheap. Supertrac 2 were very comfy on foot with the upper made out of paper. They only lasted 258km. I don’t chuck shoes on their first hole but I was getting good sized pebbles into the shoe. Supertrac RC2 were kind of alright but it didn’t really shine at anything. I don’t think they were a race shoe for anything: not enough grip or security for the food for short distance, pretty unforgiving for long distance. RC 3 are substantially different but I won’t take a gamble at them. Supertrac Ultra RC were the best out of three. Quite a firm and uninspiring ride but very durable and just worked on any terrain for long slow plods. I took them to Iceland and covered some rough ground and snow in them. Lasted 1369km. I wouldn’t buy any of them again, but that’s only because there’s nicer shoes out there.

There isn’t a shoe that will work well in fells and road. You’ll have to sacrifice one or the other. There’s unfortunately no shoe that does it all. NVII Terra TT, VJ Xtrm have a bit nicer protection than Inov8s while being a proper hill shoe with superb grip. Various Scott Supertrac versions have more cushioning but they often have a very “dead” feeling on the road. Saucony Peregrine ST are very decent in mud but not so good on the rock and feel a bit burly. More than decent on the road as far as shoes go. Hoka Mafate/Tecton are great on more groomed trails but wouldn’t be my choice for most hill races in Scotland. Ditto on Saucony Xodus.

Hated them, could never get the lockdown right, gave me horrendous blisters (the heel is very roomy), sucked on dry rock let alone wet rock. A bit of a shame as I love my Saucony road shoes. Other alternatives if you are looking for something fast the new VJ lightspeeds are great if a bit narrow but comfortable up to 30km haven't gone longer in them. Scott supertrac RC 2 good all-round shoe especially in winter slop and last 500+miles. Speedgoats great shoe though not that great in the mud, very protective and a good fun shoe. Salomon Genesis is a good shoe, not amazing in the mud (s/lab version is much better) but is a fun shoe especially on technical terrain and protective for fire roads and good in rock.

Last year I ran in the X-Talon 212s, before Christmas I got the Scott Supertrac RC 2.0s on sale and have taken them on a handful of runs up to 14 miles on my local stretch of coastal path. I can say they're much more comfortable out of the box, and despite the wider toe box I haven't had any trouble with stability when running on a camber. They've more drop than the 212s and so feel faster on flatter sections. They're terrible on clay, and I've found them slippier on road sections than the 212s. I bought the Supertracs for long fell races and an fkt attempt later in the year, so far I think they'll be great for that but probably won't replace the 212s for really rough ground or mud. Edit: a lot of the faster blokes in my club wear irock3s

I went for a few runs in Iceland in February snow, both in Reykjavik and in two off-road locations, and my Scott Supertrac 2 shoes were great. I have some calf-high waterproof socks that are cushioned and very thermal, so they were helpful too. (I second the other commenter who says to avoid goretex. They don’t let anything out and are too stiff for me and give me blisters)

I had Scott Supertrac RCs, Hoka Speedgoats and LaSportiva Bushidos before, last year I had the opportunity to take part in an Asics shoe test event and really liked them. I got a pair of Asics FujiLite 5s and really, really loved them. Ran over 600km in them last year and would say they are a wonderful versatile shoe. Used them in alpine terrain as well as chill forest trails, never had a Problem, was especially surprised with their sole/grip on wet trails. Would 100% recommend the FujiLites, i did not enjoy the other Asics trail shoes too much though, the Gel trabuco etc. felt weird for my taste...
