"I feel more stable In them than my zegama 2s. Maybe from a better upper lock down as well as the plate that’s built specifically to help stability."

"I love my enduris 4’s! But I prefer a stiff and rockered shoe. ... By stiff, I mean the stiffness in the resistance to bending in the forefoot under the metatarsal heads, likely due to the nylon plate! I feel like it relies more on the rocker geometry on toe off, which I enjoy!"

"keep the fun bouncy feel"

"The enduris 4 captures the cushy underfoot protection of the caldera without being sluggish ... it captures the fun fast feel of the catamount without sacrificing forefoot cushioning. ... They are well cushioned like the zegama but feel more agile."

As a glycerin and Brooks lover, I found the north face vectiv enduris 4 fantastic. Worth a look. Softer than the cascadia but not as bulky as the Caldera

Consider North Face options the Enduris 4 is a great shoe and not narrow. Very stable but has a plush foam and a nylon plate for some protection. I haven’t tried Fujilite or speed though so can’t compare.

I have similar feet (appointment with a podiatrist upcoming). The genesis is the first shoe I've owned that doesn't have a crease in the upper from my flat foot hanging over the medial side of the insole. It is relatively straight but I think the support pieces in the heel are what is doing the work. Now if they'd make a "genius max" or similar id be set. I just tried on the north face altamesa 500, the north face vective enduris 4, and puma voyage 4. All have cool tech, but all have curve and/or a cutout in the midfoot that removes them from consideration. You may need to try different sock thicknesses to dial in the fit with the genius (or fill in the volume with an insole). Lete know if you find something. There aren't a lot of shoes for us lol.

TNF enduris 4. I have a ton of miles in Challenger 7 and the Enduris and you won’t be dissapointed. TNF shoes always seem to be on sale online also.

These were great for me for shorter distances. Anything over ~20 miles the plate starts to put pressure on the balls of my feet. Wound up dumping them for the Prodigio Pro

The North Face Vectiv Enduris 4 is a great 100M option. It's a borderline supershoe at a relatively budget price. I thought the Xodus Ultra 3 was more of a basic shoe, more suitable for training miles, if anything. You can get better more performant shoes in the same price range.

Just throwing an option out there - TNF Vectiv Enduris 4. It's not marshmallow soft like some other high stack options, but it's very stable and the rocker is very efficient for long efforts at steady paces.

My pro 3 and enduris 4 arrived today. Got 5 easy trail miles in the enduris on sloppy snow melt trails. That dream foam is definitely dreamy. Looking forward to taking the pro 3s out once everything dries up a bit around here.

I’m a big fan of The North Face shoes, specifically the Enduris 4 and the Altamesa 500; the former being a moderately cushioned daily or race shoe with an aggressive rocker, and the latter being a max cushion stability shoe with a wider toe box.

As always: it depends 😀 What kind of „features“ are you looking for? Long distance running? You need more absorption like in the prodigio pro you mentioned More feel for the ground? Better choose a model with a thinner sole like those without „pro“ Where are going to go? Technical terrain or more like in the woods or on gras or so? If distance is Not thaaat long and terrain Not over technical maybe so called hybride shoes are what you are looking for. Sense ride 5 from Salomon are a good and cheap choise e.g. I also like the Genesis for max 15km On longer Runs I take Adidas agravic Speed or the north Face vectiv enduris 4. Last one feel like snuggle up in the blanket the whole run and are energetic but lack a bit of feel for the ground if technical. So again: it depends

Some are saying the agility peak 5 but I found them to be way to stiff and “clunky” feeling. The closet shoe I’ve come to have that same stability, cushion and keep the fun bouncy feel have been the newest model north face vective enduris 4.

North Face Enduris 4 would fit the bill, although it holds onto water if it gets soaked. Prodigio Pro is an amazing shoe for any terrain

The enduris 4 is quite stiff! I haven’t ran in the speed goats, but OP did not like how stiff they were. So the enduris 4 might be more stiff than OP wants. I love my enduris 4’s! But I prefer a stiff and rockered shoe.

I agree about the cushioning and responsiveness! By stiff, I mean the stiffness in the resistance to bending in the forefoot under the metatarsal heads, likely due to the nylon plate! I feel like it relies more on the rocker geometry on toe off, which I enjoy!

North face vectiv enduris 4 - am a heavy guy myself and those are one of the best I ever had (previous ones were Asics, Mizuno, adidas) or if you want something that has no frills but just works and is helluva grippy then Asics Trabuco (not max)

My latest road shoes collection update. I'd say I'm set and content now and for a good long while. Famous last words, I know, but I really can't think of anything else I'm interested in except maybe the Dynafish Xiaonian which is only available from a Chinese site. I also have the TYR Maverick-V1 that hasn't made its way to this showcase, but very impressed by its performance. The only shoe I'm really looking forward to next year is the Superblast 3. Currently, the shoes that are getting the most mileage are the Megablast, Velocity Nitro 4, Vomero Premium, Vomero Plus, Neo Zen, and Wave Sky 9. Older shoes with lots of mileage in their boxes but used occasionally are: Rebel v3, Mach X 2, Deviate Nitro 2 & 3, Hyperion Max 2, Sky & Edge Paris, more pairs of the PXSv1 in the OG off-white color, Takumi Sen 10 & 9, Adios 9, SL2, Mount to Coast R1, S1, and P1, 1080v13, Glycerin Max, and Skyward X. https://preview.redd.it/f614upym640g1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=852f5dc9bcd3f46a2d7c6751cc376e3c5ced657d

And here's the latest updated trail collection. Trail running takes up around 40% of my mileage so there's an appropriate number of trail shoes compared to the road shoes. Like with the road shoes, pretty happy and feeling set with these for now and through most of 2026. The only trail shoes coming next year, so far, that I have some mild interest in is the Brooks Cascadia Elite, but it could be redundant when compared to shoes like the Tecton X 3 and Cloudultra Pro. The trail shoes that are getting the most mileage lately are the Cloudultra Pro, Prodigio Pro, MTC H1 & T1, and Enduris 4. I have over 200 miles each on two pairs of Tecton X 3, so backing off those for a while. Ditto for the Speed Ultra and Vectiv Pro 2, which I also have two pairs of each and with around 150 miles on each pair. Really enjoying the MTC H1 for the road-to-trail excursions (13\~15 miles) which I like to go on every Sunday. The Agravic Speed and Puma DNE Trail are two other shoes I use for road-to-trail, but the H1 just feel and ride better for the road and flatter trail terrains. Can't say I really 'need' anything more now but I'm sure I'll always be checking on new stuff coming out. https://preview.redd.it/k6edk126940g1.jpeg?width=503&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1edfeb64134c7dfde6873e6f375d6cd30027362f

1) You and your family are cooler than a polar bear’s toenails. 2) I’m not a trail runner (yet) but I’m impressed by the well thought out review. 3) Do you have any experience or thoughts on The North Face Vectiv Enduris 4? I picked up a pair after returning my Trabuco Max 4s due to pain in my Achilles. I’ve only taken the Enduris on a few short nontechnical runs and I have yet to experience any discomfort. It shed mud well but I haven’t had an opportunity to test the grip.

Zegamas also get a lot heavier if wet, so if there is chance of that, another reason to look elsewhere. If you want spend some cash, the Tecton X 3 would be a great fit in this situation! Others similarly priced shoes to consider. North Face Enduris, only a bit lighter than the Zegama but more cushioned and doesn't feel as heavy. Breaths better. Topo Vista - also only a bit lighter than the Zegama and about equal cushion. I'm excited about it nonetheless. Finally, I replace a lot of my lower stacked shoes insoles with beaded tpu insoles which adds a bit of cushion and resiliency. Cheap way to make a shoe you like more cushioned, but you do have to be aware of volume of the shoe to make sure it doesn't cause issues.

There's probably 50 pair that will work for you. I'm a big fan of the north face trail runners \*vectiv line, maybe have a look at them. New Nike Zegama 2 might be worth a look too, since you know how Nike shoes fit.
