Salomon Genesis for technical trails. Saucony Endorphin Edge for non-technical trails and non-technical races. OG Nike Zegama retired to short runs and family hikes. North Face Enduris 4. Great shoe, but returning them because the Vectiv plate digs into the sides of my feet. Brand new pair of Mount to Coast T1 that I haven’t had a chance to run in yet.

Just took my first spin in my new North Face Vectiv Enduris 4 and they are SCHWEEET. Nice bounce, decent low profile tread, medium drop. Only a tiny bit narrow in the toebox so be aware of that. My other favorite "daily" trail shoe is Hoka Mafate Speed 4, if that helps.

Going to lead off saying this type of damage can happen to any shoe in technical terrain (assuming rocks, steeps, loose footing). TLDR: your damage isn’t anything to worry about. Shoe gu and keep going if they’re comfortable. What you’re seeing is scrapes from slipping on rock/loose rock and really no shoe will resist that all that much. I’ve run 500+ on two pair of the Altamesa 500 v1 and had some punctures in the Dream foam, but it’s not hurting the shoe. I’ve also put about 200 miles on a pair of Altamesa 500 v2 and have had two spots of sole pealing up on one foot. Nothing shoe gu can’t solve (similar thing happened running nasty terrain in Adidas Agrevic Speed Ultras) Like others pointed out, Altamesa is a less technical, long distance/time comfort runner (tho beefed up from the V1). Meaning it’s designed for gravel, buffed “California carpet” trails, community multi-use trails and all that.

Enduris 4 is my go to. North Face fits me well. I also have had good days in Prodigio Pro tho their sizing is weird.

Majority of my use case is inclement weather runs in my city's downtown core - so very little trail use. If it helps, I like them on wet pavement, snow, and park runs.  I dont have the T1s, but i heard the toe box is a pretty tight which is a hard no for me. My dedicated trail shoes are the TNF Vectiv Enduris 4

Honestly I got the enduris 4 on sale for 90 bucks and thought it was too good to be true. Like others, I was skeptical with TNF current brand view, but they are amazing! At least for me. For trail running/hiking and an everyday door to trail shoe (long hours at work etc) they eat everything. They are comfortable and I feel noticeable relief when putting them on after my Salomon ultra 360 (more of a sturdy hiking shoe I know). Point being, I am still having trouble understanding the same thing. I know they have gone very street wear but the shoes (and the never stop exploring slides) have been extremely comfortable, durable, and the rocker makes everything feel effortless.
