Versatile road-to-trail, but struggles on wet, technical downhills.

I've been thru Topo Hydroventure, Ultraventure 1/2/3, MTN Racer 1/2/3/4. The UV3's lost the outer/lug grip plot, the MTN3's felt like running in floppy support-free canvas bags (the MTN4's are a return to form). I haven't tried the Vistas yet. What I'm concerned about with the Vistas is catching little rocks in that split heel just like Saucony Peregrines do. Did you experience this in your run test? Other than that, the lugs are the same as the MTN4's, right?
I’m not very fast so my speed work isn’t either. I do all of my intervals on the treadmill and my go to for that has been the Phantom 4. I did a 100k in December in the R1s. Since then I’ve been in a post race recovery plan that’s almost exclusively zone 2. My daily depends on the terrain but most of my recent runs have been on kitty litter over hardpack singletrack in the H1s. If it’s more technical trail I’ll use the T1s. The R1s I was using on 12-20 mile gravel roads and asphalt. I think the H1s will get a lot of use in my next training block. They seem to really reduce the impact on my feet with a trade off in ground feel versus the T1 and R1.
My waterproof Topos did great for me on the Zion Traverse a few weeks ago. I usually get blisters between my 3rd and 4th toes, but nothing this time. The wide toe box is great if you have wider feet.
Seconding Topo for width and comfort but I'm gonna have to pan their gtx offering - didn't work even once with rain, let alone puddles. Keen might be a bet here?
I loved my Topos! Ended up with some issues that I think are exacerbated by the low drop, though. But if you're already in minimal shoes, I'd give them a try!
Topos have been good to me, and I've been liking Inov8 trailfly too.
