H1
Versatile road-to-trail, but struggles on wet, technical downhills.

Gonna chime in here and highly recommend the Traverse. Secure in the midfoot and in the heel with more than enough room to splay your toes. They're slightly narrower than other models, but still way wider than a normal boot. It's a 5mm drop and has a rock plate. I tried the Pursuit 3 and immediately got blisters.
Topo Athletics are my favorite. Specifically the Pursuit, and I’m excited to try the Traverse sometime, too. I like them far better than Altras as they’re much more secure and durable. A lot of hikers have pivoted from Altra to Topo.
Yes I would, the Pursuits have a pretty wide toe box but locked in midfoot and heel.
I've had some issues with on my Topos I run in. I think its partially from my feet being narrower low volume. I'm going to try some different lacing to help keep the tension off the toe end of the laces to see if that helps.
Topo has some great zero drop options! Magnifly for road and Pursuit for trail
Weird! I have flat feet and Topos don’t bother me at all. I’ve definitely experienced that high arch feeling in other shoes, but never Topos (and I have 6 different models of them!)
Been out for a few years. Very durable, I wear them for off trail routes and scrambling. Slightly more cushion than a lone peak
Doing alpine stuff with rocky scrambles - Topo Pursuits Doing groomed trails - Lone Peak+
Altra Lone Peak+ for trail hiking, Topo Pursuits for off trail and scrambling 🤘
So from personal experience, it’s most likely the zero drop. I only hike in zero drops (Topo Pursuits), almost every shoe I own is zero drop, with the exception of my runners. All of them, whether trail or road running are around 5mm drop. I tried to run in both the Pursuits and the Lone Peaks and I get the same issue as you.
