Definitely yay where I live here in Finland. I have a pair of VJ Sarva Ace. Have never felt more secure on icy roads before. I have only had a small slip (without actually falling), and that was on my first run when I was too careful and not fully relying on the spikes to do their thing, which resulted in me not putting the spikes down into the ice enough. Now I don't even think about where I run. They're great and really comfortable, and waterproof.
VJ Ace. It has some of the best rubber out there. Also little metal spikes to grip on crunchy snow and ice. I've also used sheet metal screws in the past and added to an older pair of trail shoes. So ks wise I go merino wool. You stay warm even when wet. Waterproof socks make me sweat so what's the point.
VJ Ace. No strap-on spikes necessary. In fact in my experience, strap on spikes make you change your gait and over the course of a half marathon that could mess you up. Micro spikes under reel running shoes are really the best solution here in my pain.
I'm sure people are sick of me saying this here, but VJ ACE are the best winter (snow and ice) running shoes. Micro spikes, great cushioning, waterproof. If you don't need the microspikes, then VJ XTER are same shoe, with no microspikes. VJ is based in Finland, and have been making outdoor trail running shoes for over 40 years.
Spiked shoes, currently VJ Sarva Ace.
I use VJ Sarva Ace, [VJ Sarva Ace](https://vjshoes.com/products/vj-sarva-ace-m?_pos=1&_psq=sarva+ace&_ss=e&_v=1.0) they’re quite comfortable!
Absolutely. I bought a pair of VJ sports with spikes a few years ago. They come out when the snow does and sit in the box the rest of the year. Sure they don’t get constant use, but really are worth it when it does. Also VJ Sports haven’t had any mention so far on here. They do a few pairs and as they’re a Finnish brand, they know a lot about snow.
+1 for VJsports. I have a pair with spikes that I keep boxed up to come out on the odd icy / snowy run. When they do come out, they’re great. Would recommend non spiky ones for the mud also, they do some good shoes.
