"I have 350km (only tracking running) on mine so far, no wear in the tread yet and the midsole feels like it's getting better and better, not breaking down."
"My first pair was good to 1200km before the lugs wore smooth and my second is at 800km and still going."
"the shoe is bomb proof. ... I have over 1000km on my first pair and they’re still amazing."

"The Norda 001s were grippy and comfortable, but only for pure trail."
"The grip is insanely good because of their special deal with Vibram for their proprietary sole plate"

"I’ve done everything from groomed gravel to mountainous ultras, peak bagging, scrambling, even hammered some road workouts with some buddies in them."
"001 is their do it all shoe ... That said I will usually go with my 001 for training and ultra distance races. ... Use the Norda 001 and Hokas for 100M"
"I can wear it anywhere, long or short trail runs, it is comfortable doing a 10k on the road or hiking a peak."

"the shoe is bomb proof. ... I have over 1000km on my first pair and they’re still amazing."
"And they’re seemingly indestructible, which they should be for the price. ... I’ve got close to 500 miles on mine and they still feel new."
"I've run distances up to 60k in them with no problems."

"heel is not great as it doesn't really hug down on your feet and lets debris get in, and in the worst of cases, rubs on Achilles heel when running downhill"
"my heel was getting obliterated by the 001, just walking around the house."
"Their biggest issue is the heel. It can rub you Achilles' heel raw"

"they retain too much water ... I’ve still been running in them in a very rainy city"
"Too warm ... One big alert for Norda: the ventilation is bad. ... If you run in hot conditions, they will soak your feet within 30-45 minutes, so better beware."
"I could feel the sole of the shoe squish like a wet sponge underfoot."

"I just spent a month trying to get Norda 001s to work for me to no avail."
"I tried 2 different pairs trying to get a better fit ... when I did that with Nordas I found that it was still a tad too short/tight ... when i half sized up again the heel rub was insane ... I'm kind of shocked they haven't addressed it in a minimal update."
"don’t work great for narrower/lower volume feet, lockdown is an issue."

"Norda 001, but they're pricey ... If they were about $50-$60 cheaper at full price I don't think I'd buy any other shoe."
"Would probably never pay full price for them"
"It’s on the expensive side"

"they are not great in muddy conditions, the sole gets logged easily and loses all traction"
"almost bald lugs"
"I dislike hitting road / pavement for any length of time, wasting the tread."
Peba is radical but I find anything over 25mm of stack to be uncomfortable as the foams are too soft and for whatever reason it strains my arch on long runs. So I’ll train in a night stack shoe but then when I’m on my feet 3+ hours I’ll use a fairly minimal trail shoe. The merrell long sky 2 Matryx is amazing, minimal upper and great foam under foot.
r/trailrunning • Does Zero Drop Really Make A Difference When Trail Running? ->Yea it’s weird, I wear barefoot shoes for work and I’m on my feet all day so I think my feet are just used to feeling a firmer floor. I love the norda 001 feel but it’s a touch too wide for my skinny feet to feel very secure.
r/trailrunning • Does Zero Drop Really Make A Difference When Trail Running? ->Love the way the 001s feel but don’t work great for narrower/lower volume feet, lockdown is an issue. Went a 1/2 size up in the 001 and seems spot on. Tried my typical size in the 002 and it’s too small so I just ordered a 1/2 size up. Side wall stuff came unglued fairly quick, I used seam glue on them and it’s kinda holding up. Definitely go for a stitched one like mentioned before. heel cup has given friends issues with rubbing but not for me. After about 60-80 miles they feel like they soften up a bit. If you want a softer ride I can’t recommend the Nnormal Tomir 2.0 enough. 400+ miles and still doing great.
r/trailrunning • Norda. Yes or no? ->I don't mind their marketing. It's different than typical active wear marketing and I applaud trying to differentiate your brand by doing something different...
r/trailrunning • What’s the best trail running shoe you’ve ever owned and why? ->To each their own. I have bought Nordas both at full price and discounted... even at full price, with the mileage I get out of them they end up being cheaper on a $/km basis than all other trail shoes I've tried.
r/trailrunning • What’s the best trail running shoe you’ve ever owned and why? ->I am 6'3 200 lbs and have put over 1300km on technical trails, gravel, dirt, ankle deep mud, ice and snow on my first pair of Norda 001... and this was a "deffective" pair! 001s are now my goto shoes and I sprinkle a few runs in 002 too. The fit is particular so I strongly recommend trying them on before buying them. On a side note, I am curious to hear why you want to drop weight? In my opinion, trying to cut weight while training for more volume and longer races is a dangerous game and the risk of underfueling is greater than the potential benefits or losing a few pounds.
r/Ultramarathon • Norda Trail Shoes ->Switched to Norda 001 2 years ago and have never looked by... simply added a sprinkling of 002, but the 001 are what I wear 90% of the time when I'm out running on trails OR even on snowy streets during the winter.
r/trailrunning • What shoes are you rocking at the moment? ->Although the Salomon Sense Ride 4 has a special.place in my heart for being the shoe I used for my first 50k, the Norda 001 is by far my favorite shoe ever and the one I now go to 95% of the time...
r/trailrunning • Trail Shoe Debate! ->Norda 001 has been absolutely amazing so far for me too
r/ultrarunning • Ultra runner with ultra wide feet ->I tried these and they felt so awkward and just didn’t work for the kind of trails I run on. Norda has since been the replacement and nothing but gold from the 001
r/ultrarunning • Best shoes ->I second this! One tip though I would consider staying away from the super squishy shock absorbing shoes like a Norda 001 or Speed goat 5. With a back pack the higher stack height might make you more prone to rolling ankles. I’ve done some long 100km plus fast packs in a few pairs of trail runners and do recommend it, you’ll just want to keep your pack weight down. Hiking is much more fun with a light pack anyway!!
r/trailrunning • What kind of trailrunshoes? ->I got a pair of 001s in late January for $120usd. I wasn't sure on sizing but at that price I was too curious to pass up the deal. I have about 300 miles on them now and used them for a bit of everything through this rough Michigan winter. They were great in the snow and ice and have been great on the trail now that weather's allowing us on them. The outsole really only has one wear point so far in the middle of the forefoot basically where I land. Otherwise they've been great. Feel really similar to how they felt new. I'll undoubtedly get 600+ miles out of them. I liked them so much I splurged on a pair of 005s which are also pretty wicked.
r/trailrunning • Norda 002 wear on vibram litebase, durability after ~1.5 years ->I ran in their standard 001 version last winter in Michigan and it worked fine. Traction was sufficient for the most part and the upper is already not breathable so helped keep moisture out.
r/trailrunning • Norda for winter road running? ->Take your time with this, try on a bunch, and work with your salesperson. More likely than not, you’ll probably go through a few pairs before you settle on one. Are you only looking online right now? You really should go into a store and try them out at the store, and try the ones that you take home with you, *at home* (so you can still return them if necessary). Of the ones you’ve listed, Hokas have always been a favorite of mine, as they typically fit the width of my feet nicely. Salomons are far too narrow for me. These two pairs alone are going to feel vastly different no matter what foot shape you have. Are you a pronator/supinator/neutral? All questions that need to be answered through trial and error and working with someone that knows how to do a proper assessment. Also, are you looking for a trail runner or more of a hiking shoe? The ones you’ve listed include both. I would suggest a trail runner might be more suited to do double duty as a hiker, rather than a hiker being used for trail running, particularly if you are concerned about weight. Lastly, I know everyone has a favourite, most awesome shoe that they recommend. The one brand I might suggest in that regard is Norda. It’s a Canadian company, which is nice. And although the shoes are eye-wateringly expensive, the majority consensus seems to be that they last, and last, and last. I did multiple demos in the Norda 001, and they felt so, umm, reassuring I guess is the word I would use to describe robe them.
r/vancouverhiking • Trail runner/hiking shoe recommendations for a beginner? ->I require a wider toe box as well, and the mafate has it. I had mafate first and then tried speedgoat and they were terrible for me. Mafate for much better. I currently have Norda 001 and the toe box isn't big enough
r/ultrarunning • Hoka Speedgoat - more durable, wider toe box alternative? ->Was going to ask if they had tried Norda 001s. I really like mine
r/Ultralight • More durable/longevity trail runner and hiking shoe options? ->lol, I did get mine for around 70 euros so that wasn't bad but they are on sale for the double right now
r/Ultralight • More durable/longevity trail runner and hiking shoe options? ->Was going to say Norda too. Great shoes but I use the 001s and just got the new 001A too now
r/Mountaineering • Trail Running Shoes ->Was going to say Norda too. Great shoes but I use the 001s and just got the new 001A too now
r/Mountaineering • Trail Running Shoes ->I really like the 001's. Put just over 700 miles on one pair before recently retiring them to walk around shoes (they could have gone longer still). I'm 6' 175lbs, so a bit smaller than you but still larger human than the average ultrarunner. I'm wearing the 005 model for the Zion 100mile this weekend. I've also been enjoying them. Only notes in both, the heals don't work for everyone, I had to KT tape at first on the 001, but it got better.
r/Ultramarathon • Norda Trail Shoes ->I have a pair of Norda 001 with over 700 miles on them. The tread is worn down as expected, but the foam still has plenty of bounce left. Two weeks ago I ran a 25mile training run in them with zero issues. The foam is fine. I'll continue hammering them until they truly die. Then start on another pair.
r/trailrunning • Norda 002 wear on vibram litebase, durability after ~1.5 years ->Hella expensive, hella worth it
r/trailrunning • I’ve been running in the mountain for over a month and my shoes are getting destroyed what should I get ? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
