more expensive does nooot mean safer! you can search “(car seat name) safety rating” & find results i personally like a convertible seat & just using bassinet on a stroller or wearing baby in a wrap/carrier because infant seats only last until around age 1. convertible car seats last until they’re in a booster (8yo ish depending on weight & height) here’s a bunch you can look into because there are tons of options out there my favorite infant seats in cheapest to most expensive order all in usd joie rue $169.99 graco snugride snugfit dlx $239.99 graco gomax $249.99 joie mint latch $299.99 top favorite - chicco keyfit max zip cleartex $299.99 uppababy mess v3 $349.99 britax cypress w/ alpine base $379.99 nuna pipa aire rx + relx base $650 for convertible seats i personally don’t like any rotating seat because they all have low rearfacing limits & extended rearfacing is absolutely the safest thing you can do. one of the only things you can control as a parent safety wise. most of these also can be used for a newborn 50lb rearfacing limit ⬇️ graco extend 2 fit 3 in 1 $269.99 graco 4ever extend2fit $379.99 britax one4life $439.99 britax poplar s $399.99 nuna rava next $580 under 50lb rearfacing limit ⬇️ joie saffron si 4 in 1 $249.99 graco 4ever dlx $319.99 chicco one fit max $379.99
MX 6 seat dad of 4 9,7,5,3 yrs old. Space is adequate for a family that size. Trunk space behind third row is tight for big strollers, fit our Britax jogging stroller fine. Britax car seats throughout, boosters in third row are narrow enough to fit two across. Britax click tights are easy to install. When I had an infant car seat I had a base in my car and base in wife’s, so we just clicked her in. Falcon doors makes it so easy to lean in and pick up the car seat. I love having automatic doors for the big kids, no dinging adjacent cars. A van door does the same job but then you’re driving an uncool van. The independent seats work great with a car seat on it, but you don’t have to move them often because my bigger kids can get to the back from the little aisle between the second row seats. Kids love the light show dance moves, emissions test, draw feature and rear screen. If there was like 10% more interior room it would be perfect, but it’s still great.
Britax click tight series are super quick and easy to install/uninstall and pretty fool proof. I think they are a bit pricey though.
We started out with the britax travel set up. Came with a jogger stroller and infant car seat that popped in the stroller. Can be placed in a car with a seat belt and no base if necessary. Its lasted us 4 kids, still looks great. I still use the jogger stroller for my 1 year old. But also I had purchased the britax double stroller since it was all compatible and I had my kids close together. And I have a decent umbrella stroller for tight spaces and easy grab and go. But, the jogger stroller is definitely the most durable, good quality and still glides quiet and smoothly after 7 years.
Highly recommend Britax One4life. They also make a slim version. Was in a head on crash when someone crossed the median on a highway and hit us head on. We’re so lucky we survived and my daughter who was 14months at the time had no injuries. I only use Britax car seats now.. expecting my third and got a Britax infant seat.
Love Britax! We did the infant seats (they fit our strollers) & then switched to the All4One (which I think is being phased out for a different one.) So easy to use - installation, adjustments, day to day use, genuinely dummy proof.
The easiest install is typically something with clicktight. Either Britax or Graco triogrow. The Britax may or may not work forward facing depending on the vehicle but the trio grow would. By the time you get to 6/7 and can switch to a seatbelt booster you will want a new seat anyway. Boosters are pretty cheap so I really wouldn't think that far head. Just look at your rear facing goals are and your Child's grow patterns. If you have a high percentile child and want to rear face as long as possible then an extend2fit is your best bet. Average percentile and a triogrow is probably what you are looking for.
