We've got a britax max safe pro and like it, up to 36kg.
Joie irvana max is great. You can harness up to 125cm and then use as a booster. It’s forward facing. For my youngest we got a britax max safe pro, which is backwards facing and cheaper than the others ones you mention
Not long. The support leg is easy, the seat belt can be a bit trickier to make sure it’s tight but it takes me 2-4 minutes maybe to move from car to car. My sons almost 4 and we’ve had the seat since he was around 10 months old. The specific seat we have goes to 25kg (my son is 18kg at almost 4) but it’s replacement (it got discontinued) I think goes up to 36kg so should last till age 7. It’s either the Britax safe way M or the Britax Max Safe pro 2, not sure as I said mine is an older model :)
We've got a britax romer max safe pro and it's good. It should fit our 4yo rear facing until she's about 7 because it's got a high weight limit. It's pretty easy to move between cars and they're often on sale so not a bad price. We've also got a besafe stretch which I prefer, but it is a lot more expensive and I wouldn't like to be moving it between cars, but it's great as a car seat that pretty much stays in one car. We'll probably buy another one of each when our 8mo grows out of her baby seat
Seconding these points! We very rarely use the seat on the pram (I think literally just in the hospital when we had a gazillion blood tests for my first in the initial months), but otherwise avoid it because the other pram attachments will be better for them, as will changing position when you get them out of the car. We also got Swedish plus tested, extended rear facing seats - we have britax max safe pro and safeway m (you can't use them from birth so want a good infant carrier beforehand, but then they can last up until 7y).
We’ve got a Britax Romer Max Safe Pro which is what is used 90% of the time because its in my car, its a really good seat, scores high on safety tests, easy to fit and will last at least 4 years which I think I saw you say you want. They do sales often too so you can often get it for around £180. We also have a Joie Every Stage for my husbands car which works fine, but I do prefer the Britax
We’ve got the Britax Max Safe Pro and really like it, extended rear facing which is what we wanted
Had 2 britax max ways for a few years, new version the max safe I believe. If you have a higher centile baby then an ERF to 25kg is a good option. Max way is belted and tethered which is a pain the first time you fit it but you get the knack. If a low centile baby then an 18kg rear facing will be enough, then you can get isofix with swivel. Ideally they should rear face until at least 4 and then can move to a high backed booster, so they need to be mature enough to sit with the seat belt.
Both my kids sit in their child seat since day 1, no exceptions. We use Britax Romer seats, they are the ones that are used in the actual crash tests.
