I feel like we got really lucky that after our last plane trip when close to maxing out the Scenera, it took another year and we were comfortable in a cheaper forward seat! You’ve got quite a predicament. You should look at the Graco Slimfit LX (not the regular slimfit) and the Century Drive On. Neither of these is under 100, but they might be easier to lug through the airport and are slim. We also noticed that the kids do much better staying in the seat with the buckle on the plane than in the car. Not that they don’t want to move, but you can sandwich between adults keeping them distracted from the buckle!
