Everyone will have slightly different opinions, but this is mine: go to a JL shopping appointment to try out the prams, find out what you like and what's most practical in terms of lightweight, heavy duty etc for the types of places you'll want the pram. Then look out on Facebook marketplace and find one of the ones you liked at a more reasonable price on there. Get a cybex infant carrier car seat and an extended rear facing, Swedish plus tested seat for after that. Aesthetics are way less important than practicality.

I had one like this for my first baby and immediately regretted it. She didn’t fit in it properly for ages & I had to always get her fully out of it to go into a shop-the amount of times I had to wake her up to do this was so annoying. This time we’ve gone with the cybex cloud and got adapters for our pram. The fit is sooo much better and I don’t have to wake her to nip into a shop!

Congratulations! I'm going through the same decisions as you after many weeks of research, and have just had some success on the stroller and car seat front! Nuna/Cybex were our frontrunners and we liked the elegance of the Silver Cross. We eliminated Uppababy early on for a multitude of reasons. Hopefully this saves you some time: Upon researching car seats, you'll see that the Clek Liing is the most thoroughly safety-tested seat on the market. It's handsome and made in Canada too. However, the price makes it prohibitive for some, and it requires adapters for most strollers. After numerous visits to Snuggle Bugz and West Coast Kids, we learned that the Cybex infant car seats have the same safety rating as the Clek. The Gazelle stroller is very thoughtfully designed and felt sturdier and more equipped for "real life" than the Nuna Mixx. It holds more weight underneath and comes with extra features that other companies sell separately, such as a cup holder and shopping basket. I also appreciate that it stays wheels-down when folded so that you don't end up with slush and salt on the handle and your clothes when loading it into the car through the winter. The car seat clicks in and out as easily as the Nuna ones (which are amazingly simple) so we felt the advantages of the Nuna were all present with the Cybex and then some. Snuggle Bugz had a bundle promo for stroller and car seat, so with the discount, our choice was obvious. Note: the Nuna stroller handle is the best of all - it has no knob or button in the middle which was a huge advantage for both comfort and ease of folding I've heard from many parents that infant car seats get totally filthy, so if you decide to pick one for style, friendly reminder that you're only getting 6 months of use and the "look" may not hold up. You're better off picking a stroller style you like and spending more money on that. Good luck!

I bought the maxi cosi Romy travel car seat and it was so light. Our cybex infant is way heavier and I wouldn't trust gatechecking. My friend's stroller got damaged when gatechecked. I also got a yoyo for travel during black Friday but I'd pick the joolz dot if i could again

We splurged on our carseat/stroller system. We used them daily and needed them to work for us. We went with a cybex as we initially loved nuna but read reviews that said they were outgrown quickly (on the one we liked). We easily spent 1600$ on the stroller and bucket carseat and that was after waiting for sales.. we felt guilty about it but realized that it was a priority for us! We already had a crib from when our goddaughters would visit, were handed down a dresser and rocking chair and reused some of the furniture from our guestroom for the nursery. We felt guilty because we like to save where we can and it was a lot of money! We realized that we had the money to be able to do it and we could feel the difference between cybex and other brands which is what led us to them. The same reasons you have for liking nuna! It's also how we knew we didn't like uppababy!

We went with Veer stroller, which isn’t THE most expensive but it’s definitely not cheap. Factors that played into choosing that over one of the more inexpensive brands - I’m ROUGH on stuff. It needs to hold up to be tossed in the back of my expedition or the truck, drug through a pasture, I’m not shy about taking through mud, etc. It’s made for the outdoors/all terrain and has adjustable shocks to help with that. I’m able to spray it off with a water hose no problem to clean it. The basket is large and has a 30 lb capacity and it has the ability to convert into a double stroller if needed with weight capacities of 50 and 40 pounds, plus you can get the little skateboard thing for the back if you have 3 kids. The seat can come off and be utilized as a camp chair, attached to the back of a bike if you’re into biking, or strapped to a regular chair to turn it into a kind of high chair. I’m a teacher as well but my husband makes decent money and we were very deliberate about finances before deciding to have kids so we could try to afford things we could keep through 2 kids. We went with Cybex car seat and honestly my husband took the lead on that research and pick so idk what all he took into consideration. I do know the infant one was one of the most lightweight, attached to the veer with adapters, he liked the safety features, and he liked the app with it for temp and making sure it was buckled
