I believe the Cybex Callisto RF maxes out at 40lb. My baby is petite so the CPST I spoke to thought she’d end up switching to RF before she’d max the weight so def YMMV on the limit
It just got delivered so I haven’t installed it yet but I went with the Cybex Callisto. It’s pricey 😢 but I went budget for the infant seat so it felt worth it since it’s supposed to last a long time. I like that it has a sun canopy & the mesh fabrics for the summer. I hate that my baby gets a sweaty back in her infant seat. I did go to see in store but we did a “test sit” in my neighbor’s seat and she seemed to like it!
I agree with other posters that it’s most practical to have the infant seat - especially in winter. That said, I recently bought the Callisto for my 12 month old and it’s an incredible seat.
I just got the Callisto and absolutely love it, but I have one year-old. I used the Nuna pipa as an infant car seat and would never skip it. They sleep so much and it’s a pain to take them in and out, especially in the winter.
We love our cybex Callisto rotating car seat!!! I have a large baby and it helps me so much! I love that it will be the last car seat that we will have to buy bc it converts all the way up to a booster seat. My boy hated his pumpkin seat and is so much more comfortable in the car (and so are my eardrums 😆)
I'm in the same boat as well. My baby outgrowing infant seat soon and was considering the callisto for the fact of easier spin to the side to put in and out since I put car seat in middle. I also have libelle2 for travel. I saw that some people using a cheaper car seat for airplane travel and buying the car seat travel dolly to place the seat on there and pull it through the airport. It seems that may be the cheaper option.
I really, really love my Cybex Callisto and so does my baby. She hated her infant car seat (Nuna Pipa aire rx) so much that we switched to it around 3 months.
I think the Cybex Callisto has the longest longevity of the rotating seats. The Graco Turn2Me converts to a highback booster, but its rearfacing weight limit is 40 lbs, which is 10lbs lower than other rotating seats. I like the Evenflo Revolve360, even though it's only a 2 in 1, because the rearfacing limit is 50 lbs, and it still rotates in frontfacing mode.
We have the Cybex Callisto G360 and love it. Fire retardant chemical free and greenguard gold certified. Plus it’s both rotating and goes all the way to a booster seat with a 10 year life span
