We will buy they cybex just because you can click the carseat in the frame. How awesome is that? Baby asleep in the carseat? Just put the seat in the stroller. Cybex are sold in germany. Everything is tested here like mad. They wouldnt sell anything that is not safe for babys. I am just talking about cybex and the "click the carseat in" i have no idea about the Doona

30min in the carseat? You couldnt drive anywhere Here its 4 hours for the cybex one. If baby is asleep i will not wake it up to change seats. They will normaly just nap in there and wake up faster than in the bassinet

Third vote for Cybex Gazelle but really any Cybex. Amazing handling, super smooth, it is made with European streets in mind which makes it perfect for city living. It is more narrow than a Vista. I have the Aton S2 seat which has amazing safety features but the Cloud G is even better, it just wasn't on the market when I had my first. Highly recommend Cybex strollers for city living.

Same. CYBEX Gazelle stroller with CYBEX Cloud G car seat that expands in stroller mode is so good. Also good shock absorption! I didn’t like the basket though, can’t put it in lower configuration. I don’t wanna keep basket up and my baby down. But amazing stroller, especially if planning second soon!

Loooove our Cybex Gazelle S stroller and Cloud G car seat! Works for me at 5’9” and my 6’2” husband. The car seat is heavy, but I’ve yet to find an infant seat that isn’t lol.

First of all, would recommend getting the longest-lasting infant carrier which is compatible with a buggy that you can find. I think Cybex Cloud is probably the longest lasting in terms of longest shell. I once measured all the seats in the shop for someone and it was a draw between Cybex Cloud and Cybex Aton M, though the M has been discontinued, so it's possible another Cybex seat will be just as large. Legally you can travel in a taxi without a car seat, although this is not recommended because of course a taxi is not crash proof and your baby would have no protection in an accident. It is doable in an emergency, I would try to avoid it if I could help it but it would be better than being stranded. There is also a legal exception for needing car seats in the situation that the travel is necessary, unplanned, and over as short a distance as possible - IMO, your examples would fit all of these scenarios. Though you should plan a way to get home without needing the car if possible, or arrange a lift with someone who has a car seat available - if this unexpectedly falls through and you CAN get a lift with someone who doesn't have a car seat and you have no other reasonable way to get home, then it's allowed. Just don't regularly rely on this because again, it's not really safe and your child would be at high risk if you were involved in an accident. BTW, if you do ever get in a taxi or car without a car seat for your child, DO NOT share a seatbelt with them. Your weight would basically crush them under the seatbelt. Using a sling or carrier is also very dangerous (high risk of hitting their head with yours) so don't do this. Under age 2, put the seatbelt around yourself only, and hold the child on your lap. Over age 3, they MUST sit on their own seat with their own seatbelt, even though it won't restrain them properly. From age 2-3 if they will sit still, they can sit on their own seat with a seatbelt. If they cannot then they can be held on a lap. At all times, when without a car seat they must be in the back of the car. If you have the option of a backwards facing seat, (e.g. in a black cab) it is preferable. By the time your child is toddler age, it is usual that you'll know other parents with children, so if you did get a lift from someone, it is likely that whoever is driving you might well have an appropriate car seat installed in their car anyway. If you have someone nearby who is likely to give you frequent lifts e.g. a grandparent, a best friend, and they don't mind - you could buy them a car seat to keep on hand and bring along for occasions like this. If you go to visit friends on a train and they will pick you up, you could ask them to borrow a car seat from somebody, or send them one which you have purchased online. There are some portable Stage 2 car seats on the market e.g. Maxi Cosi Nomad. The safety of them is a little questionable, but they are certainly better than nothing at all, and combined with infrequent use plus keeping the rear facing baby seat for as long as possible, you may be comfortable with this risk. You do not need to limit your days out to 2 hours if you use the car seat on the buggy. It is recommended not to keep the baby strapped into the car seat (or even worse sat in it without being strapped in) for more than 2 hours at a time, but babies/toddlers generally do not like to be strapped in immobile to things for hours at a time anyway. (I bet you would not like this either!) You would normally take them out to do things like play with them, feed them, change their nappy, carry them, let them roll/crawl/run around and play. If you did go for the Cybex Cloud, it also lies much flatter than other car seats so you can use your own discretion here whether the 2 hour limit is applicable. Understand that the angle of the car seat is not ideal for development and a true flat surface e.g. Bassinet or floor mat or proper cot, is preferable both for chilling around at home and definitely for overnight sleep - don't use a car seat as a bed. Feel free to ask any follow up questions. Car seats are kind of my specialist subject :D
