Since you know what's in those Facebook groups I'll just summarise how I chose a booster seat for my son based on what I learnt from the groups and my own critical thinking: - Must have isofix. It's not for added safety, it's because my son is clumsy and careless so I can imagine him getting in the car, moving the booster seat all around, flipping it over... With the isofix I know that the seat is in the right place and also secured when no one is sitting on it. - Must be from a well known brand, preferably tested by ADAC. Britax, Axkid, Avionaut, Graco, Joie, besafe, maxicosi, cybex... - If young (the first booster that I bought when the Minikid II was outgrown my son was just about to turn 5 so too young for my liking) it must have crotch guard (like the britax kidfix). If the kid is used to booster seats or is older this is not that important but still a good to have. - Reclining is a good feature if going for long trips often and sleeping on it but it comes at a cost (maxi cosi rodifix pro 2) - Folding is also a good feature (cybex solution G2). We have one of these and it makes traveling internationally by plane easier. - Belt/chest protection is a good to have but not a priority for me - Start checking a few months before purchasing and wait for a good sale (black Friday, cashback, points). I have bought 4 booster seats in total over 2 years for our cars and grandparent's cars. I always compare sites and offers and all 4 seats have been bought from Boots during their baby event sale, combined with extra points offers and TopCashback. After all, all seats have been in the £100-130 range. - Test the seats in your car if possible. The britax kidfix is almost impossible to use in my husband's car because it overlaps with the bit where the seatbelt buckles. Also go around and compare. I was set on saving some money choosing a cheaper seat but when I saw it at John Lewis it barely had any padding and looked uncomfortable. - All these seats do is ensure that the belt follows a good path over the body by raising the child to an almost adult height. Side protectors are an added benefit in case of accident but the bulk of the work is made by the car's seatbelt so there is not a bug difference between the brands and models when it comes to safety. - Pick one that will last long, maximum height limit should ideally be 150cm (most are in this category but always double check)

I got the cybex pink flowers car seat just because it was the cutest option out there. No regrets! Its great quality and brings me joy everytime I see it. You'll be using this toddler car seat for years!
