We have the uppababy infant seat and love it We have the uppababy vista stroller with all the attachments and love it (also have a Thule double, just a kid stuff hoarder I swear) But let me tell you. These uppababy Knox car seats SUCK once you have/take more kids. They are giant bulky pieces of crap. Wasn’t so bad with the captains chairs we didn’t notice how insane they were. But loading 2 in the 3rd row I’m realizing how bad of a mistake we made. If you’re considering getting one and want more kids, don’t do it! These things are fricken massive. Writing this as I pour sweat from the install. I’ll probably like them tomorrow again. Ps I know the car is thrashed. Got back from a 3000km trip and went right back on shift. Hopefully reset it this weekend. Damn goldfish and French fries! lol

My middle daughter was born in Victoria! Just got home from there hence the car mess !! It’s truly amazing, spent 47 days there she was in the Nicu. Special place to us. It is a giant machine. We take wood chips and long story short they turn into a sheet of paper through chemical , bleaching etc. it’s about 20 feet wide and the reels of paper we make are about 7-8 feet high, one giant paper cylinder. Then we run it in our winder and turn that giant cylinder into smaller rolls for our customers. Average size is about 50” diameter and ranging from 800mm wide to 1200mm wide. (Sorry we measure in inches feet and mm here) the winder spins them into a cardboard core and has slitters (blades) that cut the sheet to size. We ship it world wide!

My wife comes from a large family (her mom one of 5, then my wife is one of 6) I came from a small family. I always dreamed of a bigger family and she always dreamed she’d have her own large family, so I guess it just worked out great for us, We like the idea of having a full table. Our kids playing together, walking through life together. Can only hope and pray their bonds last as they get older. Can’t really explain it. Just brings us joy having a big family. Plus listening to how she grew up. Her childhood was amazing having all her siblings plus cousins.

It’s just something we’ve always dreamed of, ever since we first got together 12 years ago (damn time flies) we love the chaos and big family. My wife has 3 young siblings and we always take them everywhere whenever we can. Now one’s a 15 year old teenager, so he’s not hanging with us as much but the 11 and 13 year old still hang with us and plays with our kiddos, comes on trips with us etc. so I guess also we’re also just kind of used to having lots of kids under our care ! Don’t get me wrong going from 2 to 3 was an insane transition and still can be rocky, but it’s slowly settling out (baby is 10 weeks now, sleeps through the night!!! huge help)

I plan to get 2 more for sure! I really like them actually.

There’s always those few guys with the 100 car rules that’ll toss judgment. Thankful my kids don’t need stress if they drop crumbs. It’s all cleanable. They just can’t break anything lol. I remember my wife dropped a full milky tea in my brand new truck when we first started dating. Thing was 2 weeks old. She prepared for the freak out but I just cleaned it up and moved on. Felt bad she was expecting something bad.

All depends what you plan to do. Only reason it’s tight is cause my wife is using all 7 seats Today. Usually only 2 in the 3rd row. And if the uppa wasn’t so bulky it would look much better. I have a Thule on the roof and the XL trunk being the expedition max, so I haven’t needed the 3rd row to ever be down. So far very happy with captains chairs, I had captains chairs in the Explorer and hated it because the trunk was so tiny plus it just felt tiny all together. Once baby 3 came i knew it was time for a Yukon XL or expedition max. I went with expedition.

Get a bassinet for the 4-6 months as baby will likely be sleeping next to your bed. Any crib would be fine tbh, I wouldn't recommend a mini crib (we thought babies are small, want do they need that space for). We end moving our kid to a floor bed at 10 months. We did a newborn seat (rear facing) then upgrade to a convertible at 10 months (big baby). Having a newborn seat that is compatible with your stroller is really handy. The stroller was the most important part, my kid is 3 and we still haul it out for trips with lots of walking. We are also in a very walkable area, so your milliage may vary. We got the Uppababy Cruz +Mesa car seat. If you are close to a retail store, definitely go try out a few brands. I'd suggest a convertible seat that is easy to disassemble and wash. We got the Diono Radian 3RXT and it's work to clean.

I have the Evenflo revolve that I bought 3 years ago to use when I would pick up my niece from day care, knowing I’d have a child of my own and the appeal of a convertible car seat. It’s been amazing with the turn to me feature to place her in the car seat when she was younger. Now that she’s older she can just get in herself. For my husbands car, we just bought the diono radian 3RXT because of how his seats are. The diono is a slimmer profile and you can still fit 2 adults comfortably in the back seat. We plan to use this for our current baby and possibly a second because my LO is greater than 99th percentile in everything at 10 weeks so we anticipate a separate booster in the future anyways.

I have 3 car seats in the Y (I had 3 under 3.5 a few years back). I swapped one of the car seats for a booster and it's a bit difficult for my oldest to buckle (got him seat belt extenders so it does help). It has a lot of storage space so I can see it being good on road trips. Is it safe? It works for me, but your few month old will probable require a more robust car seat / carrier (now my kids are older) that may make it impossible to do 3 across. I bought 3x of the Diono 3xt or xr, forgot which one. Never heard a complaint about comfort. They love Netflix so theres that ha

I have a couple of these and ended up getting Diono slim fit (3rxt or similar). I believe they can be used for infant too but I have only use mine forward facing.

We were happy with our Diono carseats for extended rear-face seating. Our strategy on strollers was to buy one that could convert from a single to a double. If I were to do it again, I'd buy a lightly used stroller from Marketplace or a consignment shop. So many baby things (and good quality) can be purchased secondhand. Friends who are done having kids are also VERY willing to give things away.

I have the Diono brand

Wife has all graycos in her SUV. I liked the diono better so went with that for my truck. Now she likes those better and also wants them for her car… sure let’s spend another $600 on car seats

Currently have a Silverado 2500 and there’s some room still, but the gladiator cab is obviously a bit smaller

I three Diono R3s. That’s about as slim as they come. Currently have a Silverado 2500 which has plenty of room. But if I downsized it would be between a Gladiator and maybe a Colorado.

We have a Nuna exec at home but we're traveling for the first time with our new diono r3. You need to purchase straps but it can be carried like a backpack. It doesn't fit rear facing in economy on an airplane, but it works rear facing or front facing for cars and it's super easy to install. We like it for what it is. Our big guy fits in it with room to Grow

We have a travel car seat - the diono r3 - and you can buy straps for it that effectively make it into a backpack. We've used it domestically and internationally and it fits on coach seats (front facing) and then you can use it rear facing for the car once you get where you're going. Every time we travel with it, we have parents stopping us and asking about it. Super light weight and easy to use!
