I have 3 car seats in the Y (I had 3 under 3.5 a few years back). I swapped one of the car seats for a booster and it's a bit difficult for my oldest to buckle (got him seat belt extenders so it does help). It has a lot of storage space so I can see it being good on road trips. Is it safe? It works for me, but your few month old will probable require a more robust car seat / carrier (now my kids are older) that may make it impossible to do 3 across. I used the litemax with my first and she was content in it. Later we got the Graco 4ever and she was okay with it but we got a third car seat the diono slim and she loves this one.

We have a travel car seat - the diono r3 - and you can buy straps for it that effectively make it into a backpack. We've used it domestically and internationally and it fits on coach seats (front facing) and then you can use it rear facing for the car once you get where you're going. Every time we travel with it, we have parents stopping us and asking about it. Super light weight and easy to use!

I have three boosters in my ‘24 and it is tight. Three full-size, double cupholder childseat Britax will not fit (have them and tried). To get the fit you have to buy special slim seats and I’ll second the mentioned Diono brand.

We have 98 and 99th percentile kids and Diono car seats have saved us so much. We had a Graco baby car seat with base even though the Diono has insert for infants. It was just easier to carry baby and we used it for both kids as the were close in age. They are giant 3 and 5yos now and with the long expiration date and weight limit of 120lbs, they’ll be in them until high school. Second hand baby Bjorn bouncer was amazing. Anything food or potty related get the least complicated smoothest surface area products for easy cleaning. Ikea high chair, little partners wooden booster seat, and one piece potty seat.
