One important note regarding your plan- there can only be one car seat per row, at least on a US flight. We learned this when our twins were six months old. We traveled last week at 17 months and used Evenflo Tribute seats. I was able to stack them on one foldable dolly then gate checked the stroller. We used tablets for the first time and pre downloaded the Super Simple Songs app and some shows. The app has a week free trial but I think we’ll stick with it for now!

Very simple, not overly secure but the child stays put, if that makes sense 😅 you pull the fabric cover up and loop the belt through. I watched YouTube videos before our trip ETA: the rule about the one kid per row is because there is usually one extra oxygen mask per row

If you need a small travel car seat, try the Evenflo Tribute or the Graco SnugRide. They're light and easy to set up, plus they should work for your height and weight. If you want more opinions or comparisons, check out borncritic... they have some good guides that might help you figure out those Safety First seats too.

I pretty much just asked this exact same question! Our 5yo also outgrew the Nuna Rava which is now occupied by her lil bro, and she’s in a Chicco seat now. We used to use the Evenflo Tribute for travel (similar to Cosco Scenera) but she’s outgrown that. We are also in Canada so options are more limited. In my thread a lot of people answered Cosco Finale as the next step for a travel seat.

Extra pieces of advice: 1. Get an [FAA approved car seat ](https://www.safeintheseat.com/post/what-car-seats-are-faa-approved)and the lightest one possible, especially for the older one. We got an Evenflo one that weighs less than 11 lbs, and then got a rolling carrier for it. 2. I think the more difficult one is the 1 year old, because car seats for 1 year olds that can be rear facing are going to be harder to find in options that are light. If you can splurge, this is where something like the Doona would be worth its weight in gold.

I have a rotating one in my girl and a regular one in my husbands. We both prefer the rotating one!
