I have the Graco fast trax travel system and I found it to be too rough on gravel for the first 3-4 ish months, even when using it with baby in the car seat. Since then, it’s been fine, but something to consider if you’ll be walking a lot in rough terrain in the early months
I like our carseat/stroller. It’s the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System (Im sure there are other options) but my son - being on the smaller toddler size - is STILL using that car seat and it was easy if we wanted to put in him a stroller when he was an infant. We are having another baby in April so I’m just gonna go with the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Baby Car Seat, Rear and Forward Facing (or the one the swivels) since he will need it till he is about 4/5 and HOPING then by the time he is 5 we can just switch him to a booster and his brother to the Graco Extend2Fit since they will be about 2.5 years apart.
We spent $1200 on our wagon which I don’t fully regret. But we don’t use any fancy diaper holder or warmer or cleaner or maker. Having a good reliable method of transportation is important. That said, we just buy the graco click connect set for car seats - not fancy all around. This is our third so for clothes we are going majorly second-hand/leftovers from last baby 😂
Baby Jogger Summit X3 Has the bassinet attachment if you want it (I personally didn't buy because the seat itself reclines almost flat; by the time I even felt like going on walks, baby was 4 months old and big enough to handle the fully reclined seat) Graco Snugride Click Connect will click in if you also purchase the adapters I love my stroller and I highly recommend a jogger for Canadian weather.
Hopping on here to say that I went with the Graco (click connect) version of this. The base stays in car. The car seat clicks into the base and into the stroller. I loved everything about it, from how cozy my baby looked in it to how lightweight the stroller was (and two cupholders with a tray!!). And the convenience! If he fell asleep in the store, I didn't have to wake him up to put him in the car. It was awesome. Then he got fat really quickly and it got harder and harder for me to lift the car seat plus his chonk. After 4 months of him being 99%ile for weight, I gave it up. Upgraded to a Graco turn2me that stays in the car, and a Britax Grove stroller. They're both nice as hell but I'm still over here grieving the loss of convenience and stable cup holders + tray lol :')
We had the Graco click and connect with our little ones were that age. While I preferred to baby wear in the airport, having the click and connect system was super helpful. We just threw the base in the bottom basket and put everything in a bag to gate check
Car seats. Graco is an incredible company. We did their car seats, stroller, and high chair. Their customer service is the best. You can easily order replacement covers and parts directly for very cheap. The Black Friday sales are great. A diaper genie is a waste. A pop and sit chair is great, a good baby wearer, start stocking up on diapers (some size 1, more size 2). A few premie outfits can be good to have on hand. Toys are going on sale. A good play pen/bassinet combo with changing station is handy. Bath toys that don’t hold water (like ducks), think cups and other easily washable. The others get mold inside. Get a changing set up in your car stocked with some diapers and wipes. Some times when you’re out and about there isn’t a good changing table so having a mat, back up outfit, and the essentials packed in a box in your car is handy. Bandaids and diaper rash cream too. Multiple of the same baby blanket. My little dude is all about one blanket, he doesn’t know I have 6 of the same one. Edit: The graco click connect are great. If baby falls asleep in the car you can click it out to bring baby inside or into a stroller or a shopping cart to keep the nap going.
I have a greyco evolution i never had to have anything else since. Goes from infant seat to booster. Worth the money
