r/NewParentsDid you use an infant car seat or convertible? What stroller?

We have the Graco click connect. We got an infant car seat and two bases from my husband’s coworker. I bought the stroller frame that connects to the car seat. We’ve been using this since birth and have discussed other options. Our 11 week old son is probably 15Lbs by now. That plus the weight of the car seat is making it very heavy to move from house to car and car to shopping cart or wherever. Our pediatrician mentioned that at some point we are going to simply prefer to carry him because all of that is too heavy. So husband and I have decided that we will eventually get two all-in-one car seats, one for each of our cars, and just buckle him into the seat in the car. Like we won’t take the seat out of the car with him anymore.

Same here! We have a Graco click n connect travel system. The bassinet option was great for walks in the beginning, and being able to get LO from house to car to stroller super convenient, especially if he falls asleep during the car ride. We also purchased a convertible one for our second car, but haven't started using it yet. I've heard great things about Clek car seats!

We had the Graco click and connect with our little ones were that age. While I preferred to baby wear in the airport, having the click and connect system was super helpful. We just threw the base in the bottom basket and put everything in a bag to gate check

r/ParentingBlack Friday tips : what baby stuff was actually worth it? (first-time mom here 💁🏻‍♀️)

Car seats. Graco is an incredible company. We did their car seats, stroller, and high chair. Their customer service is the best. You can easily order replacement covers and parts directly for very cheap. The Black Friday sales are great. A diaper genie is a waste. A pop and sit chair is great, a good baby wearer, start stocking up on diapers (some size 1, more size 2). A few premie outfits can be good to have on hand. Toys are going on sale. A good play pen/bassinet combo with changing station is handy. Bath toys that don’t hold water (like ducks), think cups and other easily washable. The others get mold inside. Get a changing set up in your car stocked with some diapers and wipes. Some times when you’re out and about there isn’t a good changing table so having a mat, back up outfit, and the essentials packed in a box in your car is handy. Bandaids and diaper rash cream too. Multiple of the same baby blanket. My little dude is all about one blanket, he doesn’t know I have 6 of the same one. Edit: The graco click connect are great. If baby falls asleep in the car you can click it out to bring baby inside or into a stroller or a shopping cart to keep the nap going.

We spent $1200 on our wagon which I don’t fully regret. But we don’t use any fancy diaper holder or warmer or cleaner or maker. Having a good reliable method of transportation is important. That said, we just buy the graco click connect set for car seats - not fancy all around. This is our third so for clothes we are going majorly second-hand/leftovers from last baby 😂

We got a graco baby click in bucket seat that we used the first six months and then a safety first all in one that she’s still rear facing in at 3.5, but it forward faces and boosters in the future. Doing the same thing with little brother!

We got a graco travel system with the infant car seat. I loved it. The infant carseat we were able to use it for awhile. I know a lot of people complain the infant carseat gets too heavy to take out all the time, but that's what we did. I loved the bassinet feature with the stroller. And then it converted to toddler stroller. We still use it and my daughter is 2. It is not the smallest when folded, but that's my only complaint. We mainly use it in the neighborhood so keep it open in the garage for easy use. I have an umbrella stroller to take on errands that I know I need it to keep her contained, like the DMV.

We bought a graco travel system on sale (Black Friday) for like $250. The infant seat was great, I loved that it locked into the stroller, and the basset function was great. We never used the toddler seat because we got a BOB stroller. We then got one of the Graco rotating seats after we were done with the infant car seat.

My advice would be to find a stroller you like and get the infant car seat that’s compatible with it! You can usually get a travel system for a decent price and it includes both the stroller and the infant car seat. I personally have the Graco and I love it but I’m sure others are great as well!
