How old is/are your oldest? Big enough for a booster? Is something like the UberBoost an option? We used it for my 5 year old last trip, one less bulky carseat to take with us.

We really love the RideSafer Travel Vest. We bought it on Amazon and have never traveled with a giant car seat. My 6 year-old boy brings a blow-up Hiccapop Inflatable Booster Car Seat. We only do short Lyft rides to and from the airport, but we are also using them next week on a longer drive from Portland Airport to the Oregon Coast. My toddler is 3 and loves wearing his vest because he looks like a fighter pilot. The RideSafer vest helps position the car seatbelts to the right place to keep them safe in the event of a mishap. Same thing for the inflatable booster chair...it positions the seatbelt for my older son. They are both safe and comfortable, and I can pack them down small into my travel stroller bag (we LOVE the Pockit All-Terrain+ stroller and use a backpack carrying case for it when getting on the airplane. I place both the inflatable booster seat and the RideSafer vest inside that backpack with the stroller, so you have free hands to help littles! It's so nice to grab it from the overhead as you exit the plane instead of having to wait for a gate-checked stroller. We travel 2-3 times per month, so these travel hacks have made it stress-free. I travel alone with my toddler and 6 year-old often, and having these two car seats and the travel stroller in a backpack make it a breeze. I hope this helps! Hopefully you can leave the giant car seat at home!

I’ve been there, lugging a toddler and a seat without losing my mind Toddler seats with handles are pretty much a unicorn What’s working for me is using one of those super compact travel seats like the WAYB Pico (folds flat into a backpack) or even the UberBoost inflatable booster if he’s big enough. Otherwise I’d just wheel him to the Uber in a stroller, toss the seat in, and go from there You’re doing great trying to figure this out solo, it’s tricky for sure
