I think it depends on what you'd be doing post partum. For us, we bought the maxi cosi mica 360. It's a permanent car seat that can be used from 0 to 4 years old. When we were shopping for prams and car seats, it felt like the travel system car seat would just take up too much space in our house, plus it's only used until 12-15 mos or until they reach a certain weight. It didn't feel like we were maximising the use of it for the price we'd pay. Our baby loves sleeping in the car seat, however when we get home, we transfer her to her carrycot and she stays asleep for a while. Some babies are not like that and would require removing the car seat so they stay asleep which seems counterproductive since it's not recommended to let them sleep in the car seat and you have to transfer them anyway. For me as someone who has emergency c section, the 360 spin and pullout is very handy so I don't need to cram myself partly in the car.

I had a bucket seat and took it out of the car like 3 times in my life. It was totally not worth to buy it

I really recommend the maxi Cosi Mica pro eco it's amazing. Our son had been using it since he was 6months and seems like it will last until 4 years old. It is suitable for newborns too. You cannot remove it out of the car tho. But I love the 360, price is low and everything works great even after 2 years of extensive using.

I have used a Maxi-Cosi 360 of some sort, Cybex cloud z I-size and a sirona (interchangeable on same swivel base) and a seatbelt chomping one too, all on the back seats. For the isofix ones I bought an adapter from Bezos. I don’t put them in the front because they are savages and my front seats are custom upholstered recaros but I much preferred the stability of the isofix adapter.

We like our maxi cosi 360. We have two, one for each car.

We have the maxi-cosi rotating seat, which was one of the smaller ones on the market. It's wider than the rotating Graco one that fits into our larger SUV and not as tall. However, the passenger seat is pushed up almost all the way. I can sit there fine at 5'5, but my husband's (5'10) knees would crash into the glove compartment if I have to stop suddenly.
