I had the Maxi Cosi Zelia Max 2 system for my daughter until she sized out the car seat. The stroller lasted her up until about 3 before her height was a problem. There was a recall on it and they sent the replacement base free of charge, but I believe they are now onto the next system. Ours was on sale from Dillards, I believe, so if its of interest amd you look around for local stores and sales you might be able to get a good after Holiday price. For my current pregnancy we will probably go for Maxi Cosi again, or Chicco, as her first "big kid" car seat was Chicco Oke Fit and it was also good quality.

Our Maxi Cosi travel system is wonderful. There are a few different style options but they all have the same stroller with bassinet that converts to a seat for bigger kids & todlers, and attachments for carseat. Highly recommend.

I have the Maxi Cosi infant car seat / travel set and personally really like it! Found it reasonably priced and the stroller is great on sidewalks and trails (also live in NB).

Also FWIW we ended up going with the maxi-cosi travel system which unintentionally was the cheapest! I was totally expecting to want the Clek Liing + Uppa baby, but weight, size, and other factors made the decision for me

I just took both our kids home in the Kinderwagen on the bus. We do have a maxi cosi car seat that came with the buggy that the baby used about 2 times before it was too big for it

I got the Maxi Cosi version of the seat for cheaper on sale at Kohls. Cushions seem thicker / better quality.

I think babies just hates being in a car seat. We had the maxi cosi and LO cried in the car every time. It did get better once she became a toddler (in her extend2fit). We moved her in the extend2fit around 9 months and cried in it until maybe 18 months (when she started to be able to entertain herself in the car)

r/PregnancyUKIs it better to have a separate car seat and pram rather than a travel system? Recommendations?

Maxi Cosi car seat with the adapters that fit in my pram - wouldn't have been without it! You have to remember that the baby car seat like the maxi Cosi one goes up to 9 months oldish. You will not be wanting to wake them to get them in and out of the car. They are also a lot easier to carry.

I have a maxi Cosi pushchair that I will be using again with this pregnancy. Is suitable from birth with both the main seat unit and the carrycot. Maxi Cosi car seat clips in. What is your main pram? Can you get anything extra to make it suitable from birth?

Could you look to buy something second hand so it doesn't matter if it gets broken? Like you said most lightweight travel stuff is from 6 months plus. How much time will they be in the pushchair? If its only for short amounts of time I would be inclined to just take the maxi Cosi car seat - both my kids slept better in their car seat than anything else!

We have always gone with maxi cosi and will be doing so again. Car seats are a hot topic. People differ in what they want, expect and prioritise. For us the car is normally just used for short drives so never really have to worry about them being in there too long. We do the odd long trip but we take lots of breaks when they are little.

Yep. This will be third child using it! I also have a maxi cosi pushchair so it all fits nicely. Pretty sure we had another maxi cosi after the newborn one and then moved over to cybex. I was all for rear facing as long as possible. Unfortunately both of my daughters have the most horrendous travel sickness from it. Only calmed down when we turned them around - to be fair they still have to have tablets now on long journeys. I was eaten alive for saying I had them forward facing, but at the end of the day I needed to be able to see that they were being sick and choking and I also didn't want to put them through that on every car journey!
