Nuna - TODL next

We bought everything at babydump (now BabyDeals): Stroller with Bassinet: Joolz Hub+ Later we replaced the bassinet with the Joolz Hub+ Seat We also had adaptors to place the Nuna Pipa Next on the Joolz Hub frame Maxi Cosi: Nuna Pipa next (compatible with Nuna Todl Next base) Car base: Nuna Base Next (rotating, never want anything else!) Car Seat: Nuna Todl Next In the beginning it was almost always in this configuration: Going to the store or shopping: Stroller frame with adaptors and Nuna Pipa on top of it. (quick in and out of the car) Going for a walk or a longer (city)trip: Stroller frame with bassinet for walks (baby can sleep on his back or belly) ProTip: Drive to a babydeals store and ask to try and fit the folded stroller in your car booth. Very happy with the Joolz and Nuna combination. Joolz is made to last. Our boy (2,5) still loves to sit in his Nuna car seat everyday.

I bought a cheaper but very highly rated Chicco infant car seat so that we’d have the convenience but wouldn’t feel like we wasted our money if we only got like 6 months out of it. I got a pricier Nuna for our convertible seat since it should last for years. Our baby ended up being small and still fits in his infant seat at 10 months. We will probably switch before 12 months if he starts to look uncomfortable. You can get two bases for an infant seat to make it easier to transfer car to car. My husband is cheap and refused to do that, but he could transfer the base super quick since the Chicco is such an easy install. No regrets, we loved the convenience of buckling him inside (and we live in FL so it was more about heat/sun than cold!) and snapping him into the stroller for quick errands. We still used a bassinet for longer walks and loved that too.

Our nuna car seats are hands down the best. We’ve bought cheap brands for travel + the maxi cosi’s for grandparents cars to compare. The nuna feels the sturdiest, highest end, and the thing doesn’t budge. It’s also incredibly comfortable and grows with your kids.

For us, no. We have the Nuna. Babies just hate being confined. Mine screamed every time she was in her seat from 4 months to 9 months! We played around with the Chicco and Cosco seats too, to see if any would help (nope - they didn't!). We ended up switching to a Britax One4Life around the 4 month mark to give her more space and so she could sit up more and see the world, but still dealt with screaming. Same thing happened to my friend who used both the Chicco and Graco systems for their two cars. They will eventually grow out of the screaming - we tried to bring a lot of entertainment and snacks to distract her and it helped immensely. She's just over 2 years old now and chills in her carseat for trips so it will get better, I promise you!

I’m a CPST who has installed hundreds of car seats and dealt with every company’s customer service. Nuna is top tier.

That’s why I feel like Nuna is a waste lol. The evenflo are very very very easy to install, so it doesn’t make any sense to buy extra bases, and they don’t even make them actually

Nuna customer service is top notch and its rated one of the best seats out there.

We personally got a car seat that would be compatible with both the full sized and travel stroller. We did a Nuna seat and Bugaboo strollers, and I think a lot of seats work with those Maxi-Cosi type adapters. I’ve heard fantastic things about the Clek. Do we use the seat with the travel stroller often? Not at all. Is it even necessary? Probably not. Is it nice to have? Yes. Would I be mad at myself in a situation where it would be handy if I *hadn’t* gotten a compatible car seat/travel stroller combo? Absolutely. So, completely necessary? Nah. But if you’re even questioning it, that means you’ll probably find yourself in a situation later on where you will appreciate just going ahead with it.

I think you'll be happy with either stroller - but I would really recommend looking at Nuna car seats instead of UB. UB just doesn't design their seats as well and there are more issues with fit than Nuna ever has. Do you expect another kid in the near future? I prefer the fold of the Demi to the Vista. I get so annoyed with closing the Vista and opening it, but it is a dream to push! I also love that the Demi comes with a built in mosquito net, and the second kid seat is not reduced limits like on the Vista. I never even tried the Demi unfortunately and I regret it!!

I love my mom cozy stroller and the nuna car seat! It’s a travel system which is so worth it in my opinion

Keep the Nuna carseat, get a Cybex Gazelle with bassinet attachment and/or Nuna carseat adapter attachment. Done.

We got our Nuna car seat from Kidsy at a discount because it was overstock. It was brand new and arrived super fast

I liked my nuna and found it very easy and lightweight (had a c section so that helped) I also had a nuna car seat but with us wanting a second kid I do regret getting the nuna!

My son hates nuna - we switched to graco and he was so much happier. But there is a stage where they just hate the car seat in general though

I don’t have a full system but the nuna car seat and its adapters work well with our stroller (babyzen yoyo). We do find it’s easier to release one side at a time.

Oh you're totally fine! We have expensive seats. (Nuna, Britax, and Evenflo 360) A couple of the seats, were bought for our oldest before we had twins, but I have found that the Graco seats are still really nice and easy to install/clean. My friend has the extend2fits, and I wish I had gotten something like that. The Nuna's and the Evenflo 360 are such pains to take apart and clean.

Personally I don’t get the Doona for NYC. If you’re in the suburbs and getting in and out of a car all day, then sure. But for what you’re describing, I would get something like the Nuna Travel (or whatever it’s called). The Nuna car seats clip right on, they’re easy to fold, and you can use the stroller after the baby graduates out of in infant carrier (sooner than you think!). And Nuna has a baseless car seat now, and I think their other ones work with just the seatbelt. The Doona is also kind of small for an infant seat I think, compared to the Nuna.

Nuna is so easy to install compared to others. I found it rarely "moves", unless I did something wrong installing it. I thought our Graco moved too much no matter what.

I lived in Carroll gardens til my first baby was 17 months, and had a vista and a yoyo with a nuna car seat that can click into both without needing to buy the bassinet for either stroller. You can really only use the bassinet for 8 weeks and the doona for about a year so I would skip it. Time goes by so fast and the lifespan of these items is short, so the less you have to buy and then get rid of a few months later the better! I Have two kids now, 3 and 1, and we use the vista as a double for long walks zoo, botanic garden, things like that, but avoid bringing it into any Brooklyn sized shops (live in park slope/ Windsor terrace now) and never would bring it on the train as a single or double. You need a baby carrier and a smaller stroller for that type of thing. Congrats and good luck! 😁

I just scored a deal for a Nuna car seat and stroller system through Crate & Barrel, about $350 off around a month or two ago? Color wasn’t my top choice (we got the navy/ocean blue and I love the look of the black and the brown leather detail, but for almost $400 off I’ll take the navy lol)

People’s suggestions to check airline policy is good but we’ve been on 2 international trips now where our kid has her own seat with a car seat and still got some weird reactions. Not so much when we went to Asia, but when we went to Europe. Both KLM and Air France, the airlines we flew with, had policies online that stated kids under 2 with their own seat needed an approved car seat or buckle system (forget the correct term). Both also said rear facing for takeoff landing and front facing once cruising. In both cases cabin crew were EXCEEDINGLY confused by the presence of the car seat. KLM in the end left us alone (but did amusingly kept referring to the seat as the maxi cosi despite it being a nuna). Air France didn’t let us use the seat at all during takeoff and landing and then removed the seat while we were in the bathroom to try to look for the flight approved sticker. They eventually let us keep it when we found the sticker for them. Anywho, I’ve since gathered car seats on plane is a very American thing so just be prepared and know where the stickers are.

Damn what a gift. A neighbor buys Amazon pallets for fun & had like 20 nuna car seats in there. He sold us one for $30.

I live in Singapore. Many of our friends got the Doona Car seat and Stoller which folds up easily from a stroller into a car seat and then put into a Grab. We chose the Nuna car seat which is light and can latch into most Grabs easily. It can attach to our stroller. These are infant car seats which are easier to install. Once they get too big for them you either can use Grab Kids which has a car seat in it or find a different model. We chose to use the Maxi Cosi Nomad which is a more portable toddler car seat.

I also went with the Doona for travel and uppababy for the stroller / bassinet. However, I read a ton of similar complaints about the car seat so I went with the Nuna car seat. It easily snaps in to the uppababy with the attachment and works really well.
