I got the safety first lifetime “all in one”. Just like when it comes to tools, anything safety related needs to be as simple as possible in my opinion. Too many added mechanisms means additional points of failure. This one is designed to last from infant car seat till they are old enough to not need one at all. No cool transformer mechanics or anything. You just essentially remove parts of it as time goes on until you’re basically left with a high back booster seat that they’ll use until it’s time. They also have like four or five models with varying sizes depending on how much room you have in your car.
It takes 2 seconds to take it out of the car. Also if you bring your baby inside with the carseat then it will be in the house not the car. It's much more convenient to bring the whole thing inside and strap your baby in/take them out inside the house. We got the Safety 1st travel combo. It's cheap but super convenient. Infant/carseat is light weight. Stroller seat has a bassinet feature. The stroller itself can be used with just the carseat or just the stroller seat or both snap in if you are traveling. Carseat has a base but easy to use without the base if you are traveling. Just locks into place with a seatbelt. Highly recommend it. Folds down decently well. Important for you to know though, all the strollers/carseat combos you are going to find will be infant carseats which we really need. You will have to upgrade to a regular carseat eventually when they outgrew the infant carseat. We went with the Evenflo Revolve 360 since it will grow with him until he no longer even needs a booster seat and it swivels to make getting in and out easy. Some carseats can also fit newborns and double as infant carseats but if you end up with a small baby they might not work. You will have to make sure the fit the minimal requirements for the carseat.
This seat was junk. Never would recommend this. My 4th and last baby was always getting tipped sideways. It didn’t hook snug like any other sears I’ve had with my other girls and it looked dangerous if we ever got into an accident. We are up on car seat safety and this was definitely not.
