"We have traveled to 3 countries with it, set it up on taxis etc."
"We have the Pico for travel and absolutely love it. ... I have single-handedly installed it in cars using both the latches and a seatbelt (including needing to use a locking clip abroad) and have always found it incredibly easy. ... It usually takes me somewhere between 2-8 minutes to install depending on the car and whether I need to put the locking clip on). ... I also found it easy to install on airplanes."
"TSA approved sticker on it supports airline belt and takes a minute or two tops to install with the belt."

"one that’s collapsible like the Wayb pico (what we use now) ... it was a godsend being able to stow it in the overhead."

"I ordered a WAYB Pico travel car seat full price ($400 USD) at the end of Jan 2025. They sent me a car seat that was manufactured in 2023. ... Of course I don expect a car seat manufactured yesterday; but typically car seats that have been manufactured OVER A YEAR ago are discounted and not full price. ... There s no disclosure about this on their website, and the response is basically oo bad so sad . ... So - for a 7 year life of the car seat, you may get a car seat that already has lost 1/4 or 1/5 of its life expectancy before you even get it. ... I feel very duped, like - I get that Amazon and other discount sellers may have older unused car seats that they sell for a discount - but this was a full price car seat that shouldn be more than a couple months past manufacture date. Unacceptable. ... The fact the company responded to me and is fine with selling these seats from two years ago I just think is deceptive, functionally the seat is fine but for the price I wanted to let other parents know they may have a seat with 1/4 of the life expectancy gone before they get it!"
"Also - despite babying this extremely overpriced car seat we had a tear in the very very delicate mesh fabric on the headrest after 4 short Uber rides (and day checking it in lockers in WDW)."

I always bring mine on the plane, it's a different lighter one than her usual car seat but still a familiar place. Use a ratchet strap to attach it to luggage or a stroller if needed. If you can afford new seats and travel a lot I HIGHLY recommend the pico seat, it is faa approved and very nice to travel with.
r/Parenting • Travel with car seats? ->Wayb Pico. Very handy for flights, albeit not rear facing, which I do not recommend trying to do on planes anyhow.
r/unitedairlines • FAA Approved car seat barely fits. Looking for alternatives ->Yess!! We have it too. Also have the backpack and it fits everything! We put the carseat when flying and take off, take it off mid flight when our toddler (3yrs) needs to sleep, etc. Its been the best. We have traveled to 3 countries with it, set it up on taxis etc. The best.
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->How old is your kiddo? We have just about every version of travel car seats bc we do long haul travel a lot. For the 0-3 crowd, the Cosco Scenera is perfect. Cheap, light, straps easily to a travel stroller using a luggage strap, so you just strap it on and strap your kiddo in, for getting around the airport. Also cheap enough to be left behind if you only need it in one direction. For the 2-5 crowd, the WayB Pico (FF only) is really nice. Also light, though you’ll want the backpack that’s another $80+ to store it if you’re going through airports. Kind of a B to install, but really compact and nice. For the 4+ crowd (we started at 3.5,which is a bit young tbh), the Ride Safer Travel Vest is amazing. They wear it and you clip the seatbelt into it. It also has an optional top tether just like a FF seat’s top tether, for an added layer of security. For the 6+ crowd, the bubble bum inflatable bum booster is great.
r/beyondthebump • What's a good light/cheaper travel car seat? We ordered an uber with a car seat to the airport but it's not available leaving the airport for some reason. :| I saw Cosco Scenera but this one only has one review and it's not great. ->We use the Way-B Pico. It's lightweight, folds up, and has a carrying backpack. I'm not sure of the max weight and height, but it is a harnessed booster seat, so it's definitely higher than the scenera.
r/Preschoolers • Flying with 5yr Old - car seat? ->It's amazing. I use it in taxis all the time, too!
r/Preschoolers • Flying with 5yr Old - car seat? ->In case you are like me and look for advice or reviews on Reddit for things - I hope I can help other parents looking for options of travel car seats - do not buy the WAYB Pico full price. And be prepared to get one that was manufactured 2 years ago if you do. I ordered a WAYB Pico travel car seat full price ($400 USD) at the end of Jan 2025. They sent me a car seat that was manufactured in 2023. When I emailed to say how unacceptable this was, they responded that “Due to manufacturing and shipping lead times, inventory may be 9-12+ months past its date of manufacture when you receive it.” Of course I don’t expect a car seat manufactured yesterday; but typically car seats that have been manufactured OVER A YEAR ago are discounted and not full price. There’s no disclosure about this on their website, and the response is basically “too bad so sad”. So - for a 7 year life of the car seat, you may get a car seat that already has lost 1/4 or 1/5 of its life expectancy before you even get it. Also - despite babying this extremely overpriced car seat we had a tear in the very very delicate mesh fabric on the headrest after 4 short Uber rides (and day checking it in lockers in WDW). Do not recommend - I just want to warn any other parents like me who may be looking for a good travel seat how unethical and shady this company is. I feel very duped, like - I get that Amazon and other discount sellers may have older unused car seats that they sell for a discount - but this was a full price car seat that shouldn’t be more than a couple months past manufacture date. Unacceptable.
r/Parenting • Stay away from WAYB Pico car seat ->If I’d received one that wasn’t manufactured 2 years ago, I’d probably be a lot happier. I don’t think full priced car seats should be sold that were manufactured in 2023 as a general business practice, however.
r/Parenting • Stay away from WAYB Pico car seat ->Yah this is my first and I was planning to squeeze another use of it ideally for another child since I travel quite a lot. The fact the company responded to me and is fine with selling these seats from two years ago I just think is deceptive, functionally the seat is fine but for the price I wanted to let other parents know they may have a seat with 1/4 of the life expectancy gone before they get it!
r/Parenting • Stay away from WAYB Pico car seat ->It’s expensive, uncomfortable for the kid, and very delicate mesh fabric that for me tore after using it for 3 days and babying it. 10/10 do not recommend. Oh - they also sent me one that was almost 2 years old when I ordered it full price and tried to tell me I had lots of years left for use (7 year expiration date - I don’t expect a 2 year old car seat when I pay $400 something USD). Just FYI.
r/toddlers • Travel toddler car seat with stroller - why isn’t this a thing? ->https://wayb.com/products/pico-car-seat This has been a life saver for our family.
r/AskLosAngeles • Okay, but WHY can't you order uber with car seat from LAX? ->Hello! I’m a Child Passenger Safety Technician. She’ll outgrow WayB Pico by seated shoulder height first, since the harness height is only 15.5 inches. To measure seated shoulder height: have the child sit with their legs crossed, criss cross applesauce style against a wall. With a pencil, mark where the top of their shoulder meets the wall. If you measure floor to the mark you now have your child’s torso height. Thanks the only travel seat that folds right now. You could also look at Evenflo Maestro, it’s lightweight (9lbs) and its harness height goes up to 18.5 inches. Either way, keep in mind that seatbelts don’t lock in Europe so you’ll either need to verify the vehicle you’ll be using has ISOFIX (European name for LATCH) or contact the manufacturer for a seatbelt locking clip. What airline will you be traveling on, is it a US airline that will let you use the seat on the plane?
r/Preschoolers • Best travel option for TALL kiddo under 40 pounds ->I always bring car seats for the kids. Right now it’s the WAYB Pico. Totally worth it.
r/Parenting • Do most parents not bring car seats on planes? ->I cannot recommend they Wayb travel car seat enough! It weighs 8 lbs and approved by all relevant agencies for air and car travel. I fly solo with my 4.5 year old about 10-16 legs/ yr and it’s indispensable.
r/Preschoolers • Travel car seat/booster seat help ->Another vote for the Way-B! I don’t know what I’d do without that thing.
r/Preschoolers • Flying with 5yr Old - car seat? ->I owned the graco 4 ever I do not recommend traveling with that one it is very bulky but our kiddo was born right at lockdown so we only traveled once with this seat. I couldn’t justify buying the smaller travel seat. Now we use a Wayb pico and it has been all over the world with me. My friends kiddo was very large and out grew the pico so they use the diono and honestly I almost wish I bought one of those because I have a compact car and it’s a more comfortable everyday car seat but is much heavier then the pico. So it depends on what your needs are. At 10 months the Wayb would not work as its forward facing only. The diono can be used from birth. https://store.diono.com/radian-3r/
r/beyondthebump • Car seat or lap infant for 10 month old? 2 flights 6 hours in air total ->I thought about that, but the Ride Safer vests are still not FAA approved so flight attendants will not allow them, and their website states that they’re geared towards children that are already in booster seats but can be used for younger children if the alternative is not having anything at all (such as in a taxi). Being usable for both the plane and the car was important to us, so the final decision came down to that. We really love our Pico, the kids are familiar with it since we keep one installed in our second car, and we could afford two more, so we went ahead and bought them!
r/ParentingInBulk • Car seats on planes ->That’s why I got the WayB Pico. They are NOT heavy or bulky, and I can carry all 3 without it being too much of a pain!
r/ParentingInBulk • Car seats on planes ->Maybe the ride safer travel vest? It's preferred (on the car seat groups) that kiddos are older, but if your child is within the weight limits that might be something you can consider the wayb pico is also an option. Much pricier but also quite portable. The cheapest is the cosco scenera next, but your kids might grow out of it quickly, and it's bulky. It is light though, so if strapping it to the stroller or luggage is an option maybe that would work. You could also book airport transfer through the cruise line? Then you take the bus, and I'm assuming if you're okay not putting your kid in a car seat on the plane you'd also be okay not putting them in a car seat on a tour bus, though of course it's all up to parental discretion. When I traveled with my first at 15m and again at 18m, we did the cosco car seat. When we traveled with both of them at 2.5y and 10m, we did the tour bus (we did bring the cosco and a ride safer but did not end up using them as the cosco could not physically be installed on the bus).
r/CarnivalCruiseFans • Getting a baby from Miami airport to cruise terminal...? ->Wayb Pico fits in a large backpack. I’ve traveled all over with it. I usually skip the stroller because it is easier to have my hands free and not have to worry about stairs. I put kid in a front carrier, car seat in a backpack. I have hung it on the back of a stroller sometimes. The stroller doesn’t tip because the kid’s weight holds down the front.
r/Mommit • What do you do if you need to take a taxi with your baby and you don't have your car seat with you? ->As soon as our kid turned 2 we switched to the wayb pico and it’s been amazing. It’s big, but super light. The miserable time was between 15 months and 2 when she was too big for the infant seat and too small for the wayb
r/nycparents • Convertible car seats ->Cosco scenera is very lightweight but also see if the WAYB can work for you. It folds. And it can be worn on your back when you're walking about. You just have to be careful not to bump into your toddler with it. Ive used it for plane travel
r/toddlers • How to take an uber with toddler car seat? ->We have a WayB Pico. We travel often and that has been a great investment. It is light weight and folds really compact. It is also really great for kids under 40# to use on the airplane. We are just about to outgrow it, so we have opted for the Diono Monterey 6. It is a foldable booster which can fold smaller than a carryon bag and can go in the overhead bin on the plane. Those are the two things that we do!
r/dcl • How do you plan for car seat logistics? ->We have always brought our car seat everywhere. We have a Nuna Rava. So a big, heavy seat. We have a trolley for it to move it around easily. We always have just tucked it into the closet. We did upgrade a year ago to a WayB Pico for travel and it is INCREDIBLE. So easy to use! And very light and easy to carry around everywhere. And the best seat ever for on the plane. Remember that the FAA recommends a car seat on airplanes until your child weighs at least 40#.
r/dcl • Car seats ? ->If you fly a lot, the Cosco one is super bulky though lightweight. My kid also didn’t like it as if it made her sore or something. It’s barely padded and just lightweight plastic. The weight limit is kinda low on it too. We invested in the wayb- I know most people will not fly enough to make it worth it but we like it. Can be worn as a backpack which we needed bc we put our kid in the car seat on the plane, too.
r/toddlers • What toddler car seat is easy to check as a bag at the airport? ->Congrats! I highly recommend the Pico. It fits in my 911, and best of all, it doubles as a travel car seat. I’ve used it on the airplane and rental cars without issue! https://wayb.com/products/pico-car-seat?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=9510867789&gbraid=0AAAAAC9dO-FFmHvJ-vEsPO6xiOejHX6FW&gclid=CjwKCAjwiNXFBhBKEiwAPSaPCVsxQBA5kddnT1jo6xJtLdOPra7s1FfcG9KPUuYtS8z8UldR7PaKWhoCQpgQAvD_BwE
r/porsche911 • Car seat ->I have a 2 year old and a 4 month with a 992! Rear facing car seats don't fit unless it's in the front seat with a seat belt, and that's *ridiculously* dangerous b/c the airbag will go off in a crash. There are several front-facing (for age 3+) car seats that fit, Porsche makes one; the WAYB PICO is probably the most popular one recommended on Rennlist.
r/porsche911 • Car seat ->There aren't any rear facing car seats that fit any generation of 911 rear seats without disassembling the rear seat, sadly
r/porsche911 • Car seat ->We bring a Way-B Pico on the plane now. It’s foldable and counts as her personal item since it fits under the seat. Until she was big enough, we brought a Cosco Scenera Next and installed it for her on the plane.
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->This. Tried a few other car seats, including the Porsche branded one for mine. Some of them fit but it was tight. The wayb pico though is a game changer and the only one I recommend
r/porsche911 • Car seat ->Car seats are designed for safety, not convenience. The WayB Pico folds into a backpack and is meant for what you’re describing (minus the stroller part), but it’s for slightly older kids.
r/toddlers • Travel toddler car seat with stroller - why isn’t this a thing? ->I brought my own - WAYB pico car seat. It’s a great investment if you travel often. Heads up!!! If you do decide to check in your car seat and let’s say you fly United, it will not be at the United carousel baggage pick up with your other checked in luggage. Car seats are in a special carousel in costa rica 🙃 I learned the hard way.
r/CostaRicaTravel • Driving in Costa Rica with kids: car seat advice? ->When we went overseas a couple years ago we gate checked our car seat in a travel car seat bag. This year we bought a wayb pico (it was pretty expensive) but it’s super light and folds down small enough to carry. It’s approved for planes and cars
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->We have liked using the maxi cosi romi for travel with babies until about age 2, then switch to the wayb pico. Honestly the romi looks very similar to the scenera, I’m not sure it’s much nicer but it might be a little nicer. It’s extremely light and easy to install quickly. It’s also made in America so no tarrif impact. I have traveled a ton with kids though and I wouldn’t get a seat for a kid under 2 on the plane tbh - even if it’s long haul. If they are like mine, they won’t sit in it anyways; I use a hippie Joey wrap so I can be hands free while baby sits/sleeps/nurses in my lap.
r/bigbabiesandkids • Travel car seat for 1 year old that’s better quality than the Cosco Scenera? ->Same about the WayB Pico for all of the reasons you outlined. Now that our son is bigger we just bought an inflatable booster seat instead.
r/astoria • Travel to airport with children who need car seats ->I was just in London with a ~35 pound 4 year old. If you hire a chauffeur service, yes they can provide car seats. Taxis probably not, in my experience. It also depends on how far you're going and how fast. We took taxis short distances around the city and didn't really worry about car seats. We used a booster sometimes and when we went farther distances like the airport, we used the WayB Pico travel car seat that we brought with us. I was worried too but I quickly felt better because we weren't going very fast or very far around the city. I felt ok with the booster because the seatbelt was well positioned. If you're still really worried, get a WayB Pico travel car seat that folds up into a backpack that can easily be carried and bring it with you. Reminder that car seats aren't legally required in taxis the way they are in your own car. Disclaimer: I'm not qualified to make any safety recommendations. Just telling you my experience.
r/uktravel • Car seat for little 4 year old ->We just did this with my 2.5 year old a few weeks ago. We always fly delta one, which helps with space. We install his wayb pico car seat until it’s time to sleep, put on his pjs, and then I’ll lay with him until he falls asleep, then go sleep in my seat. Those color wow market sets, reusable sticker books, and download some games and shows on the iPad kept him fairly entertained. Snacks worked when they didn’t.
r/workingmoms • International flight with 2+ year old ->I have done it but I have also not done it. It just depends on the situation. These days for my nearly 5yo we travel with the wayb pico and I don’t put her in it on the plane. Before she could forward face I normally brought her car seat on the plane because I didn’t trust checking it. Now with 2 kids it’s different. With my baby I will try to bring his seat on the plane but have had instances where it just didn’t work out and we have gate checked it. If I’m traveling solo with both kids I try to bring his car seat so I can have my hands free on the plane.
r/Parenting • Do most parents not bring car seats on planes? ->We fly with car seats and have installed them in Ubers/lyfts/taxis with no issue. We have the way b pico for my 5 yo forward facing daughter but I have yet to find a light compact rear facing for my almost 2yo son. While idk what you would do with them at the stadium you can ask them directly if they will allow them in and to store them somewhere (baseball stadiums have allowed us to store before). I would bring a stroller to help with transition or to hold the seats.
r/Parenting • How do you travel when kids still need car seats at destination? ->We either have someone drop us at the airport in our car or park at the airport. The few times we have used Lyft we take my older daughters wayb pico which is light and easy to install quickly and that’s what we travel with.
r/Parenting • How to get to airport with 2 under 2? ->[Wayb Pico Travel Car Seat](https://wayb.com/products/pico-car-seat?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=9510867789&gbraid=0AAAAAC9dO-Hkls0z4Aae0oHqg46vwX69H&gclid=CjwKCAjw7rbEBhB5EiwA1V49nXTQgsFE2vL4AXZIOLoOzVo8ngR4Bjwm7qX6Ddnk1UTXA2aRSOX8aBoCc5gQAvD_BwE) [gb Pocket+ Travel Stroller](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07RHPDTFK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) [Luggage straps](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B5DSKDPW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) I don’t know how much your LO weighs, but the minimum weight requirement is 22 lbs for the car seat. The travel stroller can be folded and stored underneath the seat. And the straps will make walking with 2 roller luggage bags easier. Both the car seat and the stroller can slide onto the luggage handles for when you need your LO to walk around, but I’ve found it’s easier to use a D-hook/ring attached to a bag pack and attach the folded stroller to it. The first two are not cheap options, but you will definitely have an easier time managing everything in a stressful situation.
r/toddlers • How do I fly with my toddler?? ->We have a WayB Pico travel car seat, which we love. But I know people who love the Cosco travel seat as well and it’s a lot cheaper. I make my kiddos sit in the car seat on the plane too - google turbulence injuries to kids and you probably will too! So we like having the seat with us and not gate checking it. Plus, then I can use it from airport to hotel too. We have also used the Kidcar app - just make sure you reserve well in advance. They let you choose the type of car seat and if it’s rear facing or not. They have a lot more options than Uber too. Kidmoto is another app. that allows you to choose the car seats and has options up to 3 car seats in a minivan. I haven’t used this one yet.
r/astoria • Travel to airport with children who need car seats ->We used to but we've had trouble from airlines about it so we stopped. Our car seat HAS the sticker that says it's ok from FAA but even still the airlines wouldn't always let us bring it. It was super frustrating so we just stopped. Plus our kid flies better without it. She fits in the WayB travel seat now though so we do bring that with us, we just don't typically set it up on the plane.
r/Parenting • Do most parents not bring car seats on planes? ->I just traveled with the Wayb Pico portable car seat and it’s great. It helps keep my 2 year old comfortable but confined in the seat. It folds and is very easy to carry through the airport. Highly recommend. Also, my son doesn’t get much screen time, but we brought toddler headphones and allowed him to watch some TV. And of course, snacks…so many snacks.
r/delta • Flying with a toddler ->For car seats once your child is a bit bigger you can use a way b pico seat or similar brand. https://wayb.com/products/pico-car-seat They take up much less room than a traditional car seat. You can also rent baby items at your location using baby quip. For a stroller I use the gb pockit which fits into a small backpack. For more tips check out the FB page traveling with babies and toddlers. Lots of great advice over there.
r/HerOneBag • Packing light with kids? ->We use the Wayb Pico. Found it on Marketplace for less than half original price. It’s lightweight and easy to lug around.
r/Parenting • Do most parents not bring car seats on planes? ->We bought our kids PICOs on a US trip and use them for travel only. They’re expensive, so depends on how often you fly. The evenflo Sonus is a larger convertible that is lightweight like the scenera
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Toddler plane friendly car seat - [MB] ->So far I have only taken a lap infant on the plane so far, but I have a Wayb Pico car seat that is airplane and car certified and only 7 lbs that I will use when I end up taken my 3 year old on the plane.
r/Parenting • Do most parents not bring car seats on planes? ->Depends, I don’t think flights require a car seat, but it is safer. It may be easier to rent a car and rent the car seat from the rental company. It would probably be easier than depending on transportation with little ones. If you are willing to spend money on specialty car seats, the WayB pico is less than 8lbs, and you can get a special backpack with it, very easy to lug around.
r/Parenting • How do you travel when kids still need car seats at destination? ->I’ve been there, lugging a toddler and a seat without losing my mind Toddler seats with handles are pretty much a unicorn What’s working for me is using one of those super compact travel seats like the WAYB Pico (folds flat into a backpack) or even the UberBoost inflatable booster if he’s big enough. Otherwise I’d just wheel him to the Uber in a stroller, toss the seat in, and go from there You’re doing great trying to figure this out solo, it’s tricky for sure
r/toddlers • How to take an uber with toddler car seat? ->Exactly. The “benefits” of child sitting in the seat (injuries from extreme turbulence) are a pretty rare occurrence, maybe 1 in hundreds of thousands of kids, BUT the real benefit is controlling your child having access to a safe car seat at every moment when you are off the plane. So no poor handling by luggage handlers at the airport, no relying on if rental car services have a car seat or what condition it is in, making sure your kid has a seat if you need to get in a taxi or Uber, no scrambling if your plane somehow gets diverted and your travel plans change, etc. You have the seat, on your person, and you are prepared. I bought the WayB Pico for a travel seat and it’s super light and easy to set up (though expensive). The Cosco Scenera and Cosco Finale are considered good budget options for travel seats, and there’s also the Ride Safer Travel Vest (please beware of fake online alternatives!) if your child is large enough for that one.
r/beyondthebump • When do I need to stop bringing a car seat on the plane? ->WayB Pico is our travel car seat. compact and light. can fit in a backpack that we carry on board the flights with us. Once u get the hang of it you can set it up and remove it from any car in 1 minute. It’s been great for us whether we rent a car or uber around
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->Sadly it is really expensive. There was no way I could stomach getting it at full price especially knowing that it would ONLY be used for travel? The calculation of cost-per-use made my head spin. so I kept my eye on the sales haha. I tell my friends that are looking to buying a WayB to just buy it when it’s on sale bc it’s SELDOM that they will knock down the price—do not wait until you need it, and then get saddled with paying $400 😵💫😵💫. I think I got mine for $100 off bc of the sale price, and then also got a knock off carrying backpack on Amazon for a fraction of the price of the branded one.
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->Invest in the WayB Pico. Worth it
r/TravelHacks • Car seat for toddler on an airplane? ->We have brought the car seat on the plane and nose checked it. Honestly, I thought nose checking it was easier. It was not easy to carry the car seat on and off the plane and try and put it into the seat. The flight attendants were super helpful when we brought it on, so that was nice. We ended up buying a little carrier thing for the car seat that he can sit in while we wheel him around in the car seat. It made travel so much easier. I would look into one of those. If you happen to have some ‘spare’ change, I would look into the WAYB car seat. It’s light and easy to travel with (or so it seems) but dang is it expensive. We have probably traveled enough to justify the cost, but at the time it was too much money.
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->Pico is great but not for snoozing on longer flights.
r/delta • Flying with a toddler ->Yes, you can check them together. One thing we've done with our travel car seats (Pico Way-B...pricey but omg worth is) is folded them into a hard-sided suitcase to help provide additional protection against bumping and drops (I'm sure that it doesn't add anymore but just let me pretend for peace of mind). We frequently luggage-side checked our car-seats and they've always made it- although LAX gave me a heart attack when they went to oversized luggage. Check travel insurance and airline reimbursement consideration- what happens if your day-to-day car seats are damaged? Who covers the replacement? Traveling with twins * We're low-screen time except for travel. If you have the ability to upgrade to a premium or first class section, DO IT. Being able to move around a bit and lay down was a game changer for my boys. Especially with a lap infant...I did that once around 18 months and it was rough in economy. * I had everything bagged, tagged, and partitioned - extra diapers (even if they're potty training/potty trained), extra clothes, diaper accessories. I wanted to just be able to grab diaper gear or a change of clothes easily without digging around * I used the diaper bag for my personal gear and put the boys' clothes and snacks in a beach bag because the open top allowed me to easily see and access everything. This is critical on overnight flights in economy when you don't have a lot of room * Minimum 5x more snacks then you think. On the Denver-Honolulu flight we had a tarmac delay and the boys chowed everything in their bento boxes before we even took off and then cried for more food. They will decide to start a growth spurt the day you fly
r/parentsofmultiples • Traveling with twins: to gate check car seats or not? ->The pico travel car seat is amazing! It folds up and is super easy to bring on planes and for rentals and you can adjust it based on what child is using it, not a parent but a teacher and so many people I know use it!
r/Preschoolers • Car seat or booster seat for 5 year old for travel on plane and rental car ->We have it and love it but it only goes up to 45”. Definitely would not recommend purchasing one now when OP is 1” away from the height limit.
r/Preschoolers • Flying with 5yr Old - car seat? ->My youngest is 2 and in a WayB Pico when in the 911 (which isn’t often). Highly recommend. For sub 2 years you would want rear facing though.
r/Porsche • Your favorite car seat for your 911? ->Yes, the WayB fits very well in the rear seats. As a bonus, it makes for a great travel car seat as well.
r/Porsche • Your favorite car seat for your 911? ->We are at the young toddler stage now, just over 13 months or so. Do you foresee air travel from age 1-4? Add a super lightweight AIRPLANE FRIENDLY convertible car seat to your registry. The infant bucket seat or Doona only work for the first year. After that you’ll 100% need a travel car seat if you fly anyplace where you need a car rental. It has to be a light one that you’ll literally carry through the airport. None sane person ever travels with their regular heavy car seat. Cosco Scenera Next and Maxi Cosi Romi will fit great til maybe age 2. The Safety 1st Jive, Graco Contender Slim, or Wayb Pico work after that.
r/BabyBumps • Your "DEFINITELY GET" recommendations for a baby registry? ->We used a wayb car seat once my son was big enough. It folds flat enough that we were able to pack it in our checked luggage and just use it at our destination. Before that we always bought him a seat and used his car seat on the plane.
r/toddlers • If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? ->It is physically impossible to keep your grip on a lap child in turbulence like the kind some flights have experienced lately. If you're looking for an FAA-approved seat (but not approved in the UK), look into the Cosco Scenera Next. It's lightweight but allows a kiddo to recline. Once your son hits 2, I absolutely recommend the Wayb Pico for travel within the US, either by plane or by car. It isn't rated for UK use, but it is FAA-approved. It's a seriously sturdy aluminum frame that folds (the seat folds up flush against the back). We just hang it from our stroller handle with a big carabiner and we're off for an adventure.
r/Flights • Do you need a car seat for a kid under 2 in their own seat? ->If baby is over 2 and you can splurge a little get the WAYB PICO. It is SO light and compact. Sets up in a minute come in a backpack and can use it in taxis/cars. Forward facing only but on a vacation I think it’s better than nothing!
