I was given a used Baby Jogger City Tour and it's really great; It totally saved us on a trip to visit family 5 hours away, and was easy to pack because of the size. This one is in the travel stroller category (folds like a suitcase size, versus an umbrella stroller with 2 handles that folds long and narrow). I'm really happy with it, and I'm happy to have it over the classic umbrella stroller.
r/NewParents • Best durable umbrella stroller good for travel ->We have a baby jogger city tour and it's been brilliant, fully reclines, I fold it one handed, although I don't know how easy it would be for a smaller handed person 😂, overhead compliant, comes with a shoulder bag so we put it in that before it goes in the overhead. The canopy was too small when my bub was littler so we combined it with a snooze shade for a bit of extra sun protection and napping on the move
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram help please - decision paralysis ->Oh man, I remember the stroller decision all too well. My advice, narrow down to the few you’d like the most and then buy used. Don’t waste your money buying new. You have more time than you need to set up Facebook marketplace alerts and wait for a good deal to come up. You’ll want to buy the car seat new, but you can get adapters to match to a different brand if needed. Also, spending less money takes the pressure off buying a stroller you’ll use forever, and (if you have the space) allows you to buy different strollers for different purposes. At first we bought a Maxi Cosi stroller/car seat package (new but deep discount), but the stroller kind of sucked. So we kept the car seat and sold the basically new stroller and found a good deal on a second (or third?) hand UppaBaby, which we liked because it had a really nice bassinet attachment. Bassinet was great for the first few months, but ultimately the stroller was bulkier than we wanted. When our daughter was able to sit up on her own, we switched to a much more compact Baby Jogger (not to be confused with a jogging stroller) that became our “travel stroller” (bought new in box but for a steep discount on Facebook Marketplace). Shortly after we lucked into a very worn looking but super sturdy Bob Jogging stroller as a hand-me-down from a friend. Our daughter is almost 3 and we still have these two to this day and have been using them over 2 years. The Bob sits in our garage and we take it on walks around the neighborhood. The Baby Jogger stays in our car, and we use that when we drive somewhere or travel out of town. We live in a pretty walkable area so we actually use the Bob more often, but the Baby Jogger is surprisingly durable and has taken a lot of abuse, getting a lot of get checks and a lot miles walking around various cities we’ve travelled to.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->I just got back from a trip with my 5-month old. Our direct flight was 16 hours. I made sure I packed light for my carry-on because my baby is on the heavier side and I’m a petite person. Stroller recommendation: Baby Jogger City Tour. Fits in the overhead bin and about 14lbs. I gate checked the stroller. If you are formula feeding, I suggest using this storage bag for the powder as it saves so much space in your handcarry/ personal bag unlike the stackable plastic container. https://preview.redd.it/wtff591fad9f1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d76f438c0924932995c91ee302adecc7323ad5a
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel stroller recommendations [BC] ->I love our Vista V2 which I've had since 2022. We're having another baby soon but not sure if we'll bother getting it set up as a double as my older one is pretty happy to walk. We might Just opt for a skateboard or seat attachment. I don't find the pram itself too heavy but I usually disassemble it before lifting into the car. I would say that if you do use public transport regularly or for travel you would probably want to pick up a travel pram too. We use the baby jogger City tour for that. The baby jogger isn't a bad little pram (very happy with it for occasional use) but it doesn't hold a candle to the Vista
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Prams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby? ->The absolutely perfect baby gear for all scenarios does not exist. I would advise looking on Facebook marketplace to find items secondhand if you want to purchase multiple strollers. You don’t need to get everything before the baby comes. Most strollers (especially jogging strollers) cannot be used until baby is 3-6 months old. You may want to use the Doona at first while you figure out what is important to you. Your baby will likely outgrow the infant car seat by age one. So you can use the Doina for travel during this short-lived time. You will then travel with a convertible car seat which does not click into any stroller. I recommend taking a look at the Uppababy Minu V3. It has a bassinet mode built in and can have a car seat click in (only certain models). It also folds up small enough to go in the airplane overhead compartment. We got a used Uppababy Cruz V1 on FBMP. I used it a lot in the early baby days with the car seat. I had the bassinet, but ended up babywearing most often. I especially preferred babywearing when we went to events and other crowded spaces. So much easier than making our way with a stroller. I started using the stroller more in the toddler days as my son has global delays and was a late walker. I got a Baby Jogger City Tour during Black Friday sale to use as our travel stroller. Neither stroller is perfect, but both have been great to have for different reasons and uses. I just gave birth to our daughter and got the Uppababy Minu Duo stroller so I can take both kiddos out and about.
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->Another plus one for baby jogger. Terrible basket space but otherwise the City Mini and City Tour have been great for us and meet all your requirements.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Please pick one stroller👶 ->Another plus one for baby jogger. Terrible basket space but otherwise the City Mini and City Tour have been great for us and meet all your requirements.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Please pick one stroller👶 ->we took a baby jogger city tour to Europe and it worked fine on uneven streets and collapsed super small/lightweight and could be stowed as a carry on for flights.
r/Mommit • Should we bring our main stroller to Italy? ->Baby Jogger City Tour! I got mine for $50 on Facebook marketplace. Had to buy the bumper bar separately though
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller - Analysis Paralysis ->Baby Jogger City Tour, cheaper than some of those others and it’s great! One handed fold, light weight
r/Buyingforbaby • Stuck on travel strollers ->Hell no to the Graco. Did it with my first and hated it (live in Mtl so used it daily) Tried a few others. My recommendations are Baby Jogger CT Mini or... Uppababy. Yes Uppababy is expensive but you can resell it. I recently bought the Ridge stroller on sale for maybe $500 approx. Then bought everything else (car seat + adjusters/adapters, bassinet, bassinet stand, ganoosh, rain cover etc) from a Mom in a local parenting FB Group and paid half the cost (in good condition too). Even now those second hand items are still in good condition and could probably be resold again. A Mom friend bought Uppababy used from FB Marketplace, everything for about $700. Used it for 4 years straight (daily) and now passing it onto her friend. Uppababy seems to have a long shelf life!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Overwhelmed - Stroller Recommendation [ON] ->Highly recommend biting the bullet and planning on two strollers, or you will end up compromising way too much on ideal qualities of either. We got a Bob stroller with infant attachments and I love that thing still 2.5 years later. It's great for hikes and tougher terrain compared to a standard stroller. I even prefer it for grocery store runs. Any big day trips where I can take up most of the trunk with it, I enjoy using it. We also got a very compact Baby Jogger stroller (note: not a jogging stroller, just the brand name) for longer travel and other tight spaces. It also has infant attachments and we found it useful from early on. For airport travel, I would never want to deal with my Bob. Even for outings at restaurants I highly prefer bringing the compact one, in case little one needs a spot to sleep. I've seen our friends try to bring their unwieldy larger strollers and they are such a hassle in many cases. Also, in general, it's just the more practical way to throw in a stroller "just in case".
r/fitpregnancy • Stroller options: jogging stroller for everyday use as well? ->See if you can find a used Baby Jogger City Mini to use for your trip and resell afterwards (or keep!). I got one for free second hand from a coworker. Didn’t think much of it, but MAN can that thing handle all the bumps and crazy tree roots in our neighborhood. We can take it on trails even. It’s slimmer than our main stroller (Nuna Tavo), less storage space, but handles amazingly well. Our Nuna is actually terrible at getting over tree roots or uneven sidewalks.
r/Mommit • Should we bring our main stroller to Italy? ->I’m just going to be honest, I think the bassinet attachments are a waste. Most strollers will take a bucket car seat with an adapter, and the stroller bassinets are so expensive to only use for a few months. We got the Chico key fit bucket car seat and a baby jogger city mini stroller. Love it. I also suggest checking out wirecutter reviews for baby gear. You’ll get 100 different opinions on here, and it’s nice to see a neutral review of things like durability and price point.
r/Mommit • What travel system (with bassinet attachment available) did you chose and why? ->We got a secondhand Baby Jogger City Mini for a trip to Florida – definitely not rugged terrain, but the stroller was durable and comfortable (and I read that these are the ones Disney rents out at their parks for those reasons, but can’t confirm 100%). More importantly, I’d suggest going secondhand because it’ll likely get beat up in transit. You can also get a travel bag to pop it in at the gate to help keep it clean.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Best travel stroller for Europe ->I had the City Mini (probably an older model) for years in Boston and I thought it worked great. We took buses and trains all the time, although I don't think we folded it up very often on public transit because we always had crap (jackets, snacks, water bottles, etc) in the stroller that would have made it difficult to fold up (and my kid was usually sitting in it too). I thought its ruggedness was sufficient, even on snow.
r/boston • Stroller on Transit ->The baby jogger city mini is great with the car seat attachment. Being able to manipulate it with one hand is rare and priceless
r/washingtondc • Affordable strollers for the city ->I had the baby jogger city mini and I will sing its praises to the high heavens. It was, to me, very expensive, and it was the most expensive thing on my registry - did not expect to receive it. The onw-handed fold and the light weight were life savers multiple times when I had to take the stairs somewhere unexpectedly
r/DuggarsSnark • The Doona stroller/car seat strikes again! ->I know it’s not exactly what you asked but we heard about lots of people being told they must gate check their tiny, expensive stroller, which seems like a recipe for damage. We didn’t want that stress so we bought a used baby jogger city mini, wheel it up to the gate, then gate check. It’s not precious because it was only $50 and it is very sturdy. We’ve gate checked it about 10 times with no damage. The nice thing is if you’re not trying to hide an expensive folding stroller from the gate agents, you can actually USE the stroller around the airport and right up to the gate.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel stroller that fits in overhead compartment? [AB] ->We use a second hand baby jogger city mini as a travel stroller (our day to day stroller is a vista). The city mini has a pretty wide wheelbase at the back but is much narrower than the vista at the front. It’s not small but it folds super easily (one hand) and is sturdy. My main complaint is the basket under the seat is tiny compared the vista. It was only $50 so we’re not precious about it and it can be thrown under a plane or bus without much worry.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller recommendations, smaller than vista but more comfortable than a travel stroller [on] ->We got a stroller that could clip to our car seat. We looked at travel strollers but a lot of them are not super sturdy, have little space for cargo, don’t lie flat, and they can be tricky to fold. In the end we settled on a used baby jogger city mini as our travel strollers. It’s not compact, but the one handed fold is awesome for when you need to collapse your stroller for public transit or to carry up the stairs (hello Netherlands). It has space to carry the diaper bag, it lays flat and has an awesome shade for naps, and it has big wheels so is good for a variety of terrain and longer walks. We got ours used so it’s not precious and we just gate check it without a bag or cover.
r/beyondthebump • Talk me into (or out of) the Doona for upcoming travel! ->We took a totally different approach, which was to get the stroller we wanted for at home and to get a rugged stroller for cheap second hand for travel. We got a baby jogger city mini for travel for $50 on marketplace. It’s large but it folds so easily with one hand and it has some other features that are great for travel like a very good sunshade and a decent cargo basket. We were also able to get an adapter for our baby bucket car seat which was awesome. We gate check it without a bag. It’s flown around 10 times and is so far still going strong.
r/beyondthebump • Travel Strollers - It Finally Happened ->Very different approach, but we use an uppababy vista day to day and got a baby jogger city mini cheap on marketplace to use as our travel stroller. It’s not small or lightweight and doesn’t fit in the overhead, but it’s sturdy and we just gate check it naked (without a bag or any protection). This approach means we don’t have to wrestle it onto the plane or pay for carry on luggage fees to bring it along. Once we get to our destination we have a full functional stroller that can carry a decent amount of gear, lays flat for naps, and has a fully functional sunshade. We’ve flown with it probably a dozen times (and used it for a while at home as a backup when we had an issue with our vista) and it’s still holding up well. The other upside to the city mini is it folds up with one hand in one second, so if you’re traveling somewhere where you’re not allowed to bring an unfolded stroller on transit (London, England, for example) you can fold it up quickly when it’s time to board.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Best travel stroller [on] ->We are also car-free and have been since even before our now-6yo was born. It’s totally doable! We had a city mini baby jogger and it worked great, even folded easily to hop on the bus. A cargo bike also helps when your kid is old enough.
r/washingtondc • Affordable strollers for the city ->We had the car seat attachment instead for when he was a newborn/infant. We had to convince GW hospital to let us walk home in the stroller + car seat 😂 but it was very convenient for detaching quickly to use as a car seat carrier for catching the bus
r/washingtondc • Affordable strollers for the city ->Unpopular opinion since the Uppa baby vista is rated at #2. I hated that stroller. Sure is it the Cadillac of strollers with a smooth ride. Yes. But it’s so big, bulky, cumbersome, navigating it through busy areas or even just the amount of trunk space it takes up was not worth it, imo. It seems more of a status symbol at this point. We ended up with #14 the baby jogger city mini. It’s a beautiful compact full size stroller that is easy to handle and even easier to handle solo. I used it many times flying solo with my little one all the way up to the gate. I could hold him and still fold the stroller one handed. It moves well, is compact, and easy to navigate through crowds. My only complaint is the seat is a little big for small babies so use and insert or car seat adapter, and the seat does sit rather far back but my kid doesn’t mind. We’ll be using it again with #2
r/BabyBumps • The 25 most recommend travel strollers according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->This!!! There is no need to buy new when there are tons and tons of strollers you can buy for a fraction of the cost secondhand. I loved the baby jogger city mini and it is widely available on listservs, parent Facebook groups, and Facebook marketplace.
r/washingtondc • Affordable strollers for the city ->One thing I'd note before going all in on a $$$ stroller is: do you even need one? There is a lot of stuff we're told we need, but a lot of it depends on lifestyle. Baby wearing may be an option and was what worked well for my wife and I. We love hiking and there was no way a stroller would have kept up with \*where\* we wanted to hike. We'd take turns wearing the little one while walking through the woods. So many times she'd be sleeping on us, and people walking by would comment on the little legs hanging out. 🤣 As she grew older and more aware, we'd face her out and let her see/touch everything. I'm not against strollers though, of course. They work for many people. We got a Baby Jogger City Mini (or something like that) because it had available adapters to hold our car seat. It did the trick in those early weeks. We'd walk the bike path near our house and it was a guaranteed nap. We also went through some shit and ended up at my in-laws and there were no trails, so we'd go up and walk around the school with the stroller. Once we found a new place near nature though, the stroller sat folded up in a corner for a few years before we finally sold it.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->I worked at a baby store in college so I used to sell strollers to all types of people. I’m also a FTM and recently purchased one for myself. I will say that it’s an extremely personal choice - what works for you and yours may not work for me. For example, I live in a city with rough brick sidewalks - so good wheels and suspension were important to us. We also haven’t met our baby yet and don’t know what their temperament will be, so shelling out $800+ for a stroller seems risky. I have plenty of friends/family who have expensive strollers collecting dust in their cars/basements. We looked at the UppaBaby, Nuna, and a lot of the other popular systems on the market and decided they wouldn’t work for us. We loathed the Doona (my husband is 6’5) and weren’t overly impressed with the Graco / Chiccos we saw at Target. We found a boxed and brand new Baby Jogger City Mini at a discount store and bought it for a great price. My husband is obsessed with it already. It’s a brand I used to sling at the store and it’s very functional / in line with what we were looking for. I suggest testing out as many as possible, if you can. There aren’t many baby stores left, but Nordstrom has some on display. Rei might as well. Target as a few. Unsure about Walmart. And I think talking to parents who are out and about when you see them pushing strollers can be helpful. But default on your own judgement and prioritize your needs. Also, if your baby is going to be born in colder months, or if you’re not ready to commit to a brand/type, you may want to hold off or just get a snap n go system.
r/BabyBumps • Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? ->I’m a nanny in the district, working here for about 10 years in childcare so this may be more info than you really wanted. I put a tldr at the end. The strollers with the big wheels are excellent in the city. They absorb the bumps in the sidewalk so well that you don’t feel them in your back. So, if you can afford it and have the space/capacity, I do recommend the high end ones like Cybex, UppaBaby, Bugaboo. I don’t particularly like Nuna because, in my experience, they don’t steer as well. There is definitely something to be said for the experience that these products provide. I do love using these and can absolutely feel the difference in my back and shoulders when using the strollers where the frame really absorbs the bumps. *HOWEVER* Do you *need* to spend $600-1000? No, because Mountain Buggy, Mockingbird, and Baby Jogger are also excellent and cheaper. I also like BabyZen Yoyo but it’s definitely considered a travel stroller (it’s much smaller). It all really of depends on the kind of life that you expect to live with your child. If you do a lot of walking as a necessity for daily life - work, school, groceries etc, it can be great to have the big stroller because then you can put the diaper bag, some toys, their coat, your coats, and grocery shopping bags into the bottom of a big basket and you can be out for 4 to 5 hours with all of your stuff, and the basket of the stroller functions kind of like a trunk of a car. It probably seems like a lot of capacity with a newborn. A lot of families I’ve worked for in Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, Shaw, & Capitol Hill have these because you’re out a lot with the kids and walking 3-5 miles over the course of a day, dropping off and picking up a child from school, grocery trip, pharmacy, playground, the library, etc. These bigger & sturdier products also make ride-on boards to clip to the back for an older child, about 3+years old, to hop on the back of the stroller and flips up and down. It is so much easier to do this, essentially pushing a 20lb toddler and 30-40 four year old😍, plus their stuff when the stroller is well made. Idk you’d even want to have another child, but the big ones that are more expensive are really made to be a workhorse for a family. This doesn’t mean that you can’t do all these things. If you don’t have this, it’s just a tool that I have often found to make your life easier. If you live in a place where you take walks more for leisure and you drive for essential functions, then having a big stroller would be so cumbersome and heavy, and you would really only need one of the smaller/travel models. Also: it’s super important to spend the minimum amount of time in a car seat, when/if possible because it’s bad for their hips to be contained like that on a regular basis. This is why you see a lot of newborns in the lie flat bassinets on the strollers and then move on to the regular seats when they become able to hold their own heads up around 4-5 months old. You’d want to be able to put an infant car seat onto the stroller for the times that you’re going directly into a car and it’s convenient in that setting but it’s not a regular situation. tldr: Anyways, I’d recommend Babyzen Yoyo or Babyjogger City Mini if you have very limited space, because they fold well with one hand, can be carried with one hand, fold small enough, and you can buy adapters to put an infant seat on them. The giant ones are really great if that works for your family, but there are certainly other priorities like how many stairs you have to carry it up and down every day or how much space you have to store something every day so they’re just a lot of variables, but the giant expensive ones are definitely not the only optionYou can dm me if you want to message more about this. ETA: I don’t know of anyone who uses a particular travel system. Most people get their infant carrier car seat from one brand and the stroller from another, not necessarily intending to be able to attach the car seat to the stroller, but most strollers have universal attachments you can add to fit most car seats. I’ve never seen/used either of the systems you mentioned. Realistically you may only use your infant carrier seat for 6-9 months before your child outgrows it and you would need to switch to a convertible style car seat which would take a child up to 40-60 pounds (about 5-7 years old), depending on the brand. Though some kids are small and you can use an infant carrier car seat until they’re like 20 months old if they still are light and short enough. I wouldn’t focus too much on the car seat and stroller match because you may not be using the infant car seat for more than a year or so. A convertible car seat is what you’ll end up using the most, and those aren’t ever used with a stroller.
r/washingtondc • Affordable strollers for the city ->I’m glad that was helpful. I expect the city mini *could* be used for an infant. The real issue is that their body wouldn’t be big enough to secure in the straps, and they can’t just be free in the seat to lay down bc they’d fall out with any slight bump. Most kids would *probably* be able to use it by 10-12ish weeks, but I have only used it for kids over 6-12 months. I would check their website or call their help line to find out what they recommend. City Mini is a well established brand and likely has many being resold on FB marketplace, which many other commenter suggested. The Babyzen Yoyo does have a bassinet function. But again, smaller wheels, so not as easy to push in the city, but it grows with you. The bassinet part is useful, but none of them fold up well and it’s only really great for about 4 months. By that point the child is typically ready (developmentally) to be in a harness strap set up.
r/washingtondc • Affordable strollers for the city ->I have a stroller problem, and currently have 5. Don’t be me. Uppababy vista v2 - love it for walking around our neighborhood, so smooth, great on grass, good on gravel, daily use. It’s just HUGE. I hate bringing it anywhere as it takes up my whole trunk and then the bassinet didn’t fit in the trunk and had to go on my back seat. Summer infant 3d lite - love it! Stays in my hatchback, great for traveling, lightweight, small foot print, comfy for toddler. It’s not totally flat so we got this one when babe was 6/7 month old. Not intuitive to fold. Baby jogger city mini - bought for $20 on Facebook marketplace for a month long trip. My husbands favorite stroller. Easy to fold, good steering, big sun canopy. I Hate the basket. I don’t like that you can’t adjust the handle. It stays in my husbands car. Chico bravo - got with our car seat, it’s fine. I only got it because the set was on clearance and was $250 for the set, vs $300 for the car seat. Easy folding and fits in my car. Phil & Ted Vibe - air filled tires. Easy steering. Good for jogging. Hate the break, we accidentally hit it all the time. Also complicated to fold. But comfy for babe and easy steering. Also huge when folded. So I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have 3! You do you.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Do we really need multiple strollers ? [qc] ->Yes - I got a baby jogger city mini (which isn’t even that big), sold it and exclusively used the Yoyo.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Prams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby? ->That's impressive. I think we had 6 in total. My favourites were the BabyJogger Citi with the one-hand fold and the Mountain Buggy one that can fit in an aeroplane overhead locker. Folding those in front of other parents was a major flex. But commuting with an infant and toddler it was essential. They put in a high shelf in the crèche's stroller store for our MB. Some mornings I'd walk in with it slung over my shoulder with the strap.
r/daddit • My wife has a crazy addiction to buying strollers. So we’ve tried em all. ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
