I have a bugaboo fox 5 and as much as I love it (plows through snow and slush like nothing, 2 wheel mode lets you drag it through sand/goes up and down stairs) it sucks for putting in the trunk with the toddler seat. I do quite a few errands and taking it in and out of the car drives me insane. Obviously I’ve gotten used to it and have tricks now that make it a bit easier, I really regret not getting a smaller stroller. I tried the UB vista and it was just as big and bulky. Bugaboo just announced an updated travel stroller for the butterfly (butterfly 2) that has bigger wheels and a few more changes and honestly it looks so convenient to fold and open. Now that baby is bigger I’m not taking the car seat in and out and the toddler seat is just so annoying. With just the stroller frame and using the car seat was so so convenient but now that I’ve converted the bassinet to the toddler seat it’s harder. It folds with the seat but it’s so difficult to lift into the trunk (I have mother’s wrist) so I remove the seat then fold the frame separately and place both in the trunk. I do think now there isn’t one stroller that fits every need so I’ll probably keep the fox 5 (I love the way it looks - it really is the smoothest more effortless push, have pushed her with my finger tip) for one errand days, walks/trails, and bad weather days then get the bugaboo butterfly 2 for multiple stops. Ps I used the bassinet quite a bit with my September baby all through the winter).
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller Choice is Overwhelming - would LOVE some guidance on a FTM stroller for urban areas [qc] ->We are close to clocking easily 100 km walked with our Bugaboo butterfly. We have done four international flights and about 20 domestic flights. Bugaboo has been great the one hand fold is brilliant for that last minute toddler pick up and fold. Light enough to carry up or down stairs when needed (+\~ toddler still in seat). Its only flaw is that it doesn’t do newborn flat. Don’t know why it would be a total class killer if it did.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel stroller ->Bugaboo butterfly 2.0 is newborn ready. We have the original and I’ve said repeatedly the only thing that stops it being the perfect pram is the lack of lie flat. Seriously thinking of upgrading to the 2.0
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best travel stroller/pram: RedsBaby V3, Uppababy Minu V3, Pixi Travel Stroller ->Travel prams are seductive. Once you realise how little you can get away with you might say good bye to your main pram. Bugaboo butterfly he the best canopy which in Australia matters massively.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Stroller advice ->Strong recommendation for the [Bugaboo Butterfly](https://go.shopmy.us/p-19867288). We first bought one 3 years ago to travel with our daughter to London and Paris and now it has become our regular stroller with our second child. I’ve strolled it through plane aisles and it folds up to fit in the overhead compartments. It’s super sturdy - even my now 3 year old has climbed in the storage area while my 1.5 year old is in the seat. One hand collapse and open, and a shoulder strap to carry it if you need to “collapse and go”.
r/TravelHacks • Travel stroller recommendations? ->Get a travel stroller that is compact and light and can be folded up super tiny but can also handle the rough sidewalks. We got the Bugaboo Butterfly and use it everyday and have no regrets (we’d debated between it and the Yoyo).
r/AskChicago • Parents of Chicago - what strollers do you swear by for walking these bumpy sidewalks ? ->I live in the city so strollers are our main mode of transportation. We initially got the Mockingbird over the Uppababy Vista because we knew we wanted something that could convert into a 2 seater and Movkingbird was way cheaper. Compared to my friends’ Uppababy it doesn’t ride as smooth but does everything else. It feels really sturdy and we liked it for 1 kid. When we had our second baby and converted it into a two-seater it felt like A BEAST! It gets really heavy so when my daughter was old enough we got the scoot board which is off to the side, so easier to push than the Uppababy which is directly behind the stroller. Along the way, we also got the Bugaboo Butterfly as our travel stroller, over the YoYo mainly because I like the look of the Bugaboo better and the YoYo always looked like it was going to fall over to me. WE LOVE THIS STROLLER! We bought it when my oldest was 10 months and now she’s 3.5. We bought the scoot board attachement and now she rides that while my youngest (1.5) is in the seat. It’s been to Europe twice and all around the US and now has daily use (30 mins or more) and held up extremely well. I’m pro travel stroller when kids are ready for them because their light and compact and I would highly recommend this one. Fits in the overhead compartment too!
r/BabyBumps • Best and worst strollers brands/ models? ->I like my Mocking for the price point and find it pretty comparable to the Vista. Having tried my friend’s Vista, theirs rolls slightly smoother and feels smoother when manoeuvring - but I don’t think that’s worth the price difference as we’ve had our Mockingbird hold up for 3+ years. It’s also good for one, to start, and a second if you decide on more kids. I’d also recommend the [Bugaboo Butterfly](https://go.shopmy.us/p-19867288) when you’re ready for a travel stroller. We use it as our everyday stroller now and it’s collapsible with one hand, sturdy, and fits in overhead bins. You could get the Mockingbird and Butterfly for almost the price of just the Vista, so that’s what I would do because inevitably you’re eventually going to want a travel stroller.
r/BabyBumps • What's the best stroller for me? ->We have the butterfly and it wasn’t good for kiddo as an infant but it’s perfect now at nearly three. I would still take it for an infant for travelling via plane if they were sitting, but not younger. It’s been great for the infrequent plane trips that aren’t infrequent enough to justify not going without a pram. It fits in the footwell of the car so it’s permanently stored there. Ours is a … 2022 or 23 model I think. Yes the button has popped out a bit like what you’ve said but I’m not sure that *wasnt* rough handling. We haven’t experienced the fabric balling up or fading. Maybe that’s a specific model or colourway? I’d recommend it as a travel pram for infants and younger toddlers and then as a main pram for older toddlers who still can’t do a whole zoo trip or other big outing on their own legs.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Help - Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+ or Redsbaby Skip 3? ->Wifey and I have been stressing for weeks lol. We finally settled on the Nuna Mixx for walks (moving to Hawaii so we liked the mesh seat and that the seat turns into a bassinet) and the butterfly 2 for travel/everyday. Heard nothing but good things about the butterfly and the 2 has bigger wheels and is built a bit sturdier, so we are happy with our choice! The mixx is just our long walk stroller for the first year when we plan to have baby #2 we will be upgrading that to the Bugaboo donkey. I’ve heard the Nuna Triv is excellent for an all rounder that you can travel with, use for walks and for daily use, if we were going with just one that probably would’ve been our choice!
r/Buyingforbaby • Looking at all the stroller choices is making me want to pull my hair out! ->Black and taupe. They are aooo easy to clean. I’ve never had any issues with either. We’ve used both for a year.
r/NewParents • Which color of Bugaboo Butterfly stroller do you have? ->Bugaboo is coming out today with the butterfly 2! Full recline now! It’s the best travel stroller. I’ve tried so many. I use it more than our fox 5 now
r/NewParents • Is Uppababy stroller & car seat too much for airport? ->I did a side by side comparison at Nordstrom and the Bugaboo Butterfly won for several different reasons. *Straight pushbar instead of rounded *Larger bottom basket *Smoother push *Included footbar
r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz aer+ vs bugaboo butterfly ->I looked at the Yoyo, the Nuna Trvl, and a few others but ultimately went with the Bugaboo Butterfly. The basket on the BB is so much larger and the fold was smaller. I'd skip the bundle with the cupholder, stroller bag, or small bag that hangs on the handlebar. The small bag is too big, the stroller bag is tough to get around it especially if you add the bumper bar, and the cup holder holds very little in a way that inspires trust. I would get the bumper bar, that was a lifesaver in being able to attach the tethers to keep him from throwing bottles or toys around the airport.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Recommendations For 16 Month Old ->I sold my minu v3 and bought a butterfly! The minu was creaky and got stuck closed alllll the time!
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly or Minu? ->Doona for travel/errands until they size out, then bugaboo butterfly for travel. Uppababy vista for every day.
r/NewParents • What's the best stroller you've used? ->We have an uppa baby vista and a Doona. We LOVED our Doona and used it until 11/12 months (have a 99th percentile baby). we got a bugaboo butterfly for travel/quick trips.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->We started with the uppababy Cruz and clicked in the nuna pipa car seat with the adapter. It’s very smooth and just feels nice to push. As our baby got older, we added a bob jogging stroller because the roads in our neighborhood aren’t smooth. We added the bugaboo butterfly recently since she likes to run around now and doesn’t care much for the stroller anymore. The one handed fold and compactness is really nice. We also have a wonderfold wagon but only plan to use it for long outings to the zoo.
r/BabyBumps • Best and worst strollers brands/ models? ->I don’t like my minu V2. I wish I had bought the bugaboo butterfly instead.
r/BabyBumps • Lightweight strollers useable from birth without a car seat? ->I’ve sold mine on fb marketplace used after about 2.5 years for $200. It is a great stroller and I had no issues with it from Africa, Asia Middle East and US travels. Fit through some isles with child in it and to all overhead compartments I’ve tried.
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly ->Having just purchased a travel stroller, we looked at the stokke yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu v3, silvercross jet 5, and joolz aer -- all comply with most overhead cabin sizing. I would recommend also purchasing the stroller case/carrier so it looks more like a standard carry-on. Some airline staff might make you gate-check regardless of size once they see that it is a stroller. Having the cover/case will reduce that issue.
r/NewParents • Best Overhead Compartment Airplane Stroller ->I would’ve bought Joolz for a newborn since it has a newborn bassinet attachment which the Butterfly lacks, but for a toddler - team Butterfly all the way!
r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz aer+ vs bugaboo butterfly ->I went with bugaboo butterfly + turtle air shield. Selling points for me: Travel system, infant car seat clips in, stroller fits in plane overhead and is lightweight, good storage.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I have a bugaboo butterfly and I saw at all the baby bunting I went to that the fabric liner balls and colour fades.. I was really hesitant in buying it. Can report I’ve used it for a year straight everyday no fading no fabric liner balls. I’ve washed it multiple times and even the whole thing in the washing machine 😆. It’s great. I have a fox 5 and prefer the butterfly. I do keep it out of the sun eg.. in the garage or in the boot and I dry it in the house after I’ve washed it. Looks brand new still… I don’t get what’s happening to the prams at BB
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Help - Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+ or Redsbaby Skip 3? ->Hi everyone, I thought I’d share my experience flying with the Bugaboo Butterfly on Jetstar. I was scouring the web to see if I could bring the Butterfly as a carry on when flying Jetstar, but I couldn’t find what I needed! So hopefully this will be helpful for anyone travelling soon or looking to purchase the Butterfly! I recently flew with Jetstar from Syd > Melb with a travel pram for the first time. I was nervous as the weight and width is slightly over the max limit. I didn’t want to be asked to check it in - my baby is getting heavy and squirmy so carrying her around the airport was not ideal! From my recent experience, the most important thing was having a bag to place the travel pram in as I was asked if I had one during check in and boarding. I assume that if you do not have a bag, they will not allow you to take it in the plane. I was also not asked to weigh the pram either. The Butterfly fits in the overhead compartment perfectly. I purchased the Bugaboo Butterfly travel bag which was handy as you can carry it as a bag pack. However, it is expensive - $95 at Baby Bunting. There are probably cheaper alternatives but unfortunately I didn’t have time to research. Some feedback on the Butterfly. It’s been positive so far! It can collapse easily with one hand (this was important for me when looking at travel pram options!). It manoeuvres quite well, however as the wheels are smaller it is not as smooth going up a small step from the curb or super uneven pavement. I also read about the Butterfly tipping. The only time I experienced this was when I was rushing to check in and turned on a bend too quickly, the pram tipped slightly. But I guess that is because it is a light stroller? I love that the Butterfly now lives in the boot of our car - super compact - and it makes our trips out of the house so much more convenient! One less item to lug into the car!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • My experience with the Bugaboo Butterfly pram on Jetstar ->I've been really happy with the Bugaboo Butterfly. It fits really easily in the car, too, so it's been nice as my son gets older and I don't want to haul around the UppaBaby Cruz filling half my truck.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel Stroller Recommendations [ON] ->We have the butterfly and yes an investment but if you do travel a lot so so worth it. The fold is great, especially when traveling in your own with kiddo, wheels and suspension are fantastic as well. No issue on cobble stones, etc.
r/Buyingforbaby • Best Travel Stroller? ->Butterfly is also on Goodbuygear. Well worth it, the other travel strollers I've seen has really tiny storage, I could see using the butterfly as a primary stroller.
r/Buyingforbaby • Best Travel Stroller? ->I love the bugaboo butterfly. It has the one second fold, made of great fabric, 5 point harness, *almost* a flat recline, and fits in the overhead compartment of both domestic and international flight aircrafts. I know you said you are ok checking it, but it can be really helpful to have it on hand and make sure it doesn’t get damaged during transport. It’s not going to be great in cobblestone streets, but with travel strollers you give up that comfort that heavier strollers provide for the convenience.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Best travel stroller for Europe ->Loved my bugaboo butterfly until the wheel fell off at the airport. I had to carry it on my shoulder all through, while running with a 3 year old to catch our flight. I’m about to return it to Nordstrom
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Please share any recommendations for a travel stroller ? ->I have the butterfly and like it a lot. Have you looked at getting it second hand or renting it? We recently took it on a trip to Italy and it was great.
r/toddlers • Travel Stroller Recommendation? ->So I drive an Acura RDX, think trunk size of Rav4, or similar smaller SUVs, and own Fox 5, Vista V2, and Bugaboo Butterfly, and I despise using Fox and Vista because if I use it, I don't have trunk space for anything else (realistically, I probably have room for maybe a $150 grocery run in this economy, but I often use my Butterfly cause it folds up so compact
r/Buyingforbaby • Anyone buy a Bugaboo Fox 5 to regularly use with a car? ->Obsessed with my Bugaboo Butterfly. Wish I had never bought our Uppababy Vista and started with it! We took both kids (8 month old sitting in stroller, 3.5 year old sitting on wheeled board) to the aquarium last Saturday in the snow and it was not perfect to push but still doable (10-15 minute walk outside to the subway from our house). Highly recommend.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Recommendations: Everyday stroller that is also good for traveling [on] ->I’ve had a Vista for 3 years and truly I hate it. It’s bulky, takes up a lot of space, the double configurations are meh (my 3 year old can no longer sit in the rumbleseat because he’s too tall and hits the top), it’s heavy, and it’s inconvenient for life in the city and travel. I actually don’t think it’s worth the price tag and wish I was able to test more brands in stores (bought in pandemic). Many people love the Vista, but I know quite a few who feel the same as me. If you’re not sure about a second kid I wouldn’t bother with it to be completely honest. We also have a Bugaboo Butterfly and I wish I had it only from the start (and had a car seat that could be used with it). Also you can buy excellent condition stroller units second hand - I’d totally do this! Make sure you test them out and pay in cash etc., but this is what I’d do. Happy shopping! :)
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller/Travel System recommendations for FTM, baby due early January [ON] ->We have the butterfly and love it! I have a bugaboo fox and I got so sick of putting it and out of the car, so we use that for walks and the butterfly for everything else. One handed fold, fits everywhere and my little one (13m) is comfortable
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram that’s an excellent all-round everyday pram ->We have the bugaboo butterfly in the car for errands as it’s so quick to use getting in and out of the car and around shops. We have a bugaboo fox 3 that sits in the garage that we use for walks (also will put in the car if going out for a walk) as it’s sturdier and nicer for her for our daily walks in my opinion. I got both for free though, so I’m ok having two
r/Buyingforbaby • Mid-size or travel stroller for "one and done"? ->I have the vista and I also a baby zen yoyo and a bugaboo butterfly. The last two are travel strollers. We also like to travel and we used to travel with my daughter when she was a newborn every 2 weeks for a medical condition that required going out of state. Hands down we used and still use the bugaboo butterfly. Infant car seat was a nuna pipa lite which you can attach using adapters. Don’t bother with the vista if you plan on taking it through an airport and you only have one child. Also fyi baby is now a 4 year toddler and bugaboo butterfly is still stroller of choice. You can buy a ride along attachment if you ever need it for a sibling. This travel stroller fits overhead in planes and is so easy to click and fold. Only downside is the handle is not telescopic or extendable. I’m your height and it works well for me but hubby is about 6 ft and he says it’s a bit short for him
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I have the bugaboo butterfly and after trying a few brands - it is my favourite! It is really easy to recline, sturdy wheels and good basket size.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best travel pram (for overseas) ->I went deep down the rabbit hole of stroller research. \- If you want something that can handle hiking/uneven ground AND want something that can travel easily on a plane (i.e. in the overhead compartment) -- it doesn't exist. My recommendation would be a city and travel-friendly stroller that can also accommodate a bassinet or infant carseat attachment. We bought the Bugaboo Butterfly after realizing what a pain it was trying to get our full size stroller (Cybex Balios) into the stroller room at daycare while juggling a baby. It is sturdy, does great on our crappy city sidewalks, has a shoulder strap for carrying, fits in the footwell below the car seat in the car, and in the overhead compartment on planes. It also has adapters for a bassinet and/or infant carseat, but we didn't get the stroller until he had outgrown both of those needs so can't speak to those. \- I'd recommend doing a front carrier and eventually a hiking backpack carrier for off-roading and focus on a stroller that meets 90% of your day-to-day needs. \- Once baby is out of the infant carseat, you'll still need a stroller and a carseat for travel, but as far as I know there aren't any adapters for attaching a full-size car seat into a stroller. So I wouldn't overthink this piece too much. It's annoying but just kind of the way it is. We bring both onto the plane and strap the carseat into the seat we purchased for baby and stroller under the seat/in the overhead. You can also gate check strollers and car seats for free. \- All car seats must meet the same federal safety regulations for crash safety, material usage, etc. The rest is marketing. \- There's a decent used market for name brands. When I was stroller shopping, there were many used Uppababy Vista/Cruz on Facebook Marketplace. \- A jogging stroller or full-size stroller will take up your entire trunk unless you have an SUV. \- Most jogging strollers don't accommodate a bassinet and are only rated for 6 months+. \- We have a summer baby. Where we live, it is simply too hot during summer to wear a newborn in a carrier. So bassinet was the only way we could safely and comfortably get outside in the early months. (Our car seat was not compatible with our stroller - buying the bassinet was cheaper than buying a compatible car seat)
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->Bugaboo butterfly is where we landed. We also have a full-size stroller (we call it the 'cadillac') that barely fits in the trunk of our Subaru Impreza and is so heavy we rarely drag it out of the basement these days. The Bugaboo is sturdy, 13 pounds, fits in the footwell under the car seat in the car, and in the overhead compartment on planes. Plus is has a shoulder strap so I can carry baby and stroller at the same time when needed.
r/BabyBumps • Is it possible to have just one stroller?? ->We had our 4.5 month old in the butterfly forward facing but agree on neck strength like others have said. We also reclined as much as possible until he was a bit older. He’s always seemed to really like the butterfly, definitely more than the Cruz with the snug seat where he alway looked angry until we took the snug seat out.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller for a small 6 month old recommendation? ->I took the Nuna TRVL on a trip and appreciated the recline but lugging it around airports got old fast, and the Bugaboo Butterfly folded up tight but felt a bit chunky once packed.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Please share any recommendations for a travel stroller ? ->We've got the bugaboo butterfly and love it, had it from 11 months to now 2 years old and use it as our main pram. Have used it on the plane in the overhead storage, fits in the footwell of a car, easy to carry, our little one loves napping in it and has one hand fold
r/beyondthebump • Travel stroller recommendations ->We got a bugaboo butterfly when my LO was 4 months old and we loved it so much we have used it as her regular stroller ever since. It’s the GOAT. I cannot even express how much I love this stroller. It’s been on 12 flights with us in 8 months, including 4 flights on my own with baby! It folds like a dreaammmm, handles uneven terrain well (took it on the entire freedom trail tour in Boston which was primarily cobblestone, took it to Mexico, British Colombia, Arizona, etc). I must admit we always just gate check it (only because I have a rotator cuff injury so I can’t lift anything at all heavy into overheads). We got the stroller bag for flights and it’s good but a tight fit. Over time we got a few more accessories… the stroller bag too which is excellent, and we bought the activity bar which tbh was a waste. Im not a baby brand gal but we loved this stroller so much that we went with the bugaboo giraffe high chair when it was time for her to start solids and like the stroller, it doesn’t disappoint. Consider me brand loyal now!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Ergobaby metro+ deluxe - best travel stroller? [on] ->I had an uppababy vista system passed on to me and recently bought a bugaboo butterfly, happy to answer comparison questions! Broadly speaking, the uppababy is a pain to lug around and set up, especially alone, but it’s much easier to use once you get it there. In the early days having the uppababy stroller frame and car seat was invaluable as I could go into stores while baby was asleep, and the basinet attachment was also nice for tiny baby walks. Now he’s in the next size up car seat, I’ve been waffling over which stroller I’d choose if I could only have one. The uppababy has a very big under storage area, so it’s my choice for taking into stores (use it instead of a cart) or if I’m going to hang out in a park or something with baby for a while. It’s also quite a bit easier to maneuver, has more seat positions, and has a snack tray that clicks into the lap bar spot, which is also a huge bonus. The bugaboo we got because we have travel plans upcoming, but it’s been great for quick trips basically anywhere, and for stores with tighter aisles. It’s also amazing to be able to set it up and break it down with one hand.
r/NewParents • Difference between a “ travel” stroller/car seat and a regular? Make it make sense. ->My baby loved the Bugaboo Butterfly. It's only meant for 6 months plus but he was 5 months when we travelled. He loved sitting in it so much! And surprisingly slept well. It folds super compact, one handed open and close mechanism, super easy to wheel around, it's got some springs which make it smooth on bumpy roads.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best travel pram (for overseas) ->Bugaboo butterfly. 🙌 only hold up is that it does not totally lie flat but for me that wasn’t a deal breaker I just used the bucket car seat for a couple months until baby could use the normal seat. This stroller it is so small and high quality at the same time, like overhead bin acceptable small, maneuvers amazing, lightweight but not at all rickety,, one handed open and close. I can toss it in and out of my car easy, or throw it over my shoulder with its carry strap, and used it into toddler years with my first, then when I had my second bought the additional scooter board for the big kid and will use my infant car seat with an adapter until baby can sit in the seat again. I had a nuna early on and sold it, tried a uppababy and got rid of it, finally bit the bulled to buy this bad boy and it’s been my holy grail purchase. The others were too bulky for my everyday practical use in a city and to move around stores and restaurants. Downside, as with most bugaboo strollers, you have to buy optional accessories separate (stroller caddy, bumper bar, cup holder) but the quality is unmatched. Small but mighty and I treat it like shit and it still goes
r/Buyingforbaby • Strollers...Help ->We just received our taupe one, but it’s so much more pink than expected so we are considering exchanging it for a darker one… We have our main stroller Bugaboo fox 5 in forest green and we love it. The fabric is different though so the lightweight fabric of Butterfly also makes the stroller look kinda cheap in comparison to Fox 5.
r/NewParents • Which color of Bugaboo Butterfly stroller do you have? ->Considering that you live in Mexico I wouldn't be so sure about the wheels of Bugaboo Butterfly or especially Silvercross Jet 5 lasting long on uneven pavements. We use travel stroller as a main stroller, but for Mexico (where we used to live) we specifically used bigger wheels as it became annoying getting the stroller stuck all the time.
r/Buyingforbaby • Any parents using a Travel stroller for everyday use? ->Just popping in here to suggest the Bugaboo Butterfly! It is a travel stroller, but it is one of the few that actually has a large basket underneath and amazing suspension. It is a smoother ride than some of the other non travel strollers we have used.
r/Buyingforbaby • What makes a stroller/carseat a “travel” version ? What is the opposite of a travel stroller? ->Bugaboo Butterfly hands down! It is SO smooth, fits into the overhead bin and the one hand use actually works.
r/Buyingforbaby • Any parents using a Travel stroller for everyday use? ->Bugaboo Butterfly hands down!
r/NewParents • What's the best stroller you've used? ->My wife and I spent weeks every weekend playing with strollers. We ended up picking up the Aer+! The fold is amazing and easy. And there’s storage for daysss My second pick was Jet 5 but the storage was too small. I thought the Jet 5 was so cool too. My wife’s second pick was the Butterfly. I personally thought the fold was not as smooth as the Aer+. It’s a small detail but every detail counts IMO when there’s a screaming child in your arms as you’re navigating a grocery store lol. Though our second pick differs, I’m glad our first pick was the Aer+. Keep in mind though that the Aer+ doesn’t have a lot of rotating car seats in USA that is compatible with it. Not sure if that’s a deal breaker for you. If rotating car seats is a must have, get the Jet 5 because of its car adapters. Nuna Trvl won’t fit on airplanes btw. Need to checked in.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Help! ->I know it’s not an option you’ve listed ha but we have the Bugaboo Butterfly for travel and we absolutely love it. Our little boy is also 16 months and every tall (off the centile chart for height) but the bugaboo fits him comfortably. It folds super easy and is very compact. It’s cabin approved; we’ve been on Jet 2, TUI and Air France. I couldn’t recommend the pushchair any more. I use it now in place of his main pram (Mamas & Papas Ocarro) because I find it so easy
r/UKParenting • YOYO3 vs Joolz Aer: Which Travel Stroller is Best for Holiday? ->We have 4 strollers currently and will be reassessing our strollers shortly with the arrival of number 2! We will likely get rid of a few. We bought the Vista V2 when it still came with the bassinet. We live in the PNW and it was really important to my mental health that I could get out on the trails. The suspension on the Vista is awesome. I can handle almost any trail (without stairs or sand) easily without the handle shaking my hands. Uppababy (UB) stands behind their products and the strollers also hold a lot of resale value. They replaced parts that broke during air travel. I wanted a stroller that I could add another kid onto because we knew we wanted more. It was amazing for postpartum because of the bassinet and how easy it was to push. I got the cozy Ganoosh and was still able to get outside on cold days. It was annoying to get out of the car and it had major pros and cons while traveling. The storage is also incredible. I can grocery shop, go on long adventures, and basically do a whole road trip by using the basket beneath. We're using it a lot less during the toddler years because she's walking. We use our travel stroller a lot more. We will likely keep this for our second so we can have both kids on the trails. However, we may also reassess, sell this, and get a side by side or wagon instead because I have heard this is hard to push and maneuver with two kids. Baby Jogger City (old version): this came from a buy nothing group. It is okay, a little tough to fold, and seems not to have held up well for a second child. When I have the energy it will go back to the Buy Nothing Group. Misleading because it's not actually a jogging stroller. Bob Wayfinder Jogging Stroller: bought this for my husband. He likes it a lot and uses it all the time but I find it a lot harder to handle and steer than my Vista. I'm also short so I find this is too talk for me. Travel stroller: Bugaboo Butterfly: I bought this and the Minu v3 at the same time. I returned it and kept the Minu v3 The butterfly is great. Now that we've having two I wish I had kept both because it is now so much more expensive with the tariffs. Minu v3: We have switched to this as our everyday stroller. I really love this one. It has a nest for newborn compatibility so I won't have to carry a bassinet. It folds up so small and it pushes great. It is light enough to carry up and down the stairs but the push isn't nearly as smooth as the Vista. The basket is also tiny. I have to pack a different diaper bag when I use this stroller. I agonized over the choices and We will definitely be getting a double travel stroller for two but will likely keep most of the others as there will be times when I want to have just one kid with me or be able to jog or tackle trails. There are tons of cheaper travel strollers (the Bombi is one I'm super interested in) but I am glad I splurged. Strollers are a big "quality of life" changer. Yes, you can get a cheap stroller. A Graco will definitely get the job done. But if you're doing a lot of walking it is much more enjoyable with a higher quality product. Using my sister's Graco is annoying and stops me from wanting to adventure when I have to push it.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->I have a bugaboo butterfly which I really enjoy. You can steer and fold it with one hand, it lies almost flat, has a good sized canopy and storage underneath. The wheels aren't huge but I used it on cobbles in Spain and it was fine 😊
r/UKParenting • The goldilocks travel stroller - does it exist?? ->Bugaboo butterfly was pretty legit for international travel for us. No issues on any plane, big or small. Sturdy and well made. Over a year of beating the hell out of it. So far so good.
r/toddlers • Recommendations for travel strollers! ->I love love love my Bugaboo Butterfly. One hand fold, good size basket, good recline for naps and will fit in some overheads.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Best lightweight travel stroller? [Ca] [BC] ->i have butterfly as my travel stroller and used the head rest infant insert that keeps their head controlled (from uppababy) in it when we traveled to stabilize!
r/Buyingforbaby • Needing a cabin approved travel stroller for 4.5 month old ->Uppababy Vista (regular) and Bugaboo Butterfly (daycare drop-off - stroller storage at daycare is limited - and sometimes for traveling out of our immediate neighborhood). We would definitely use the Butterfly if we were flying somewhere but sometimes we’ll take the Vista in the car if we anticipate wanting more basket storage or we’re going somewhere where we’ll want to be able to have the seat facing us rather than out. The Uppababy bassinet was great and we used it every day for the first few months, but then he started getting more interested in stuff around him so we switched to the regular seat with the Uppababy infant insert. We probably could’ve just used the insert from the start but the bassinet was more relaxing for everyone early on.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->I got the bugaboo butterfly and it does fit in the over head compartment EXCEPT if it is a smaller plane. Had to gate check it a few times but I also always take a carrier with me as well so it was not an issue traveling alone with baby and then toddler. It has a good recline and is lightweight. We rarely use our bigger graco stroller once we got the butterfly. It’s just easier to haul around.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller - Analysis Paralysis ->I really like our travel stroller (Bugaboo Butterfly) to keep in the car for quick errands but it’s not great for going on longer walks on pavement. It’s not newborn compatible, it doesn’t recline nearly enough for that. If you do any serious amount of walking outdoors I’d definitely consider getting a full size stroller separately from a travel stroller. We use both all the time. Personally I don’t think a one hand fold is that important. If I’m getting it out of the car, I just get the stroller out before I get the baby out. If I’m at home, I get it ready before I pick up the baby. I’ve never really needed to fold my stroller while holding the baby.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller help ->I like our Butterfly well enough, but I do wish it sat up a little straighter. Not sure how the Minu compares on that front. Do you have a Nordstrom near you? I’d recommend you try them in person if you can (even if you later buy it from Fb marketplace) as there may be something that speaks to you in one over the other.
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly or Minu? ->I really like my bugaboo butterfly. It’s so smooth and so easy to fold up. It also fits perfectly (with room to spare on the flight I went on) in the overhead compartment. I had no trouble folding it and lifting up into the overhead by myself while wearing my baby.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Recommendations For 16 Month Old ->Bugaboo you have to buy the handbar as an add on, and it doesn’t recline flat. But we love ours
r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz aer+ vs bugaboo butterfly ->Bugaboo butterfly. We have had it for 18 months so far and taken 10 plus flights with it and numerous road trips. We absolutely love it. It’s really comfortable to travel with. Very light weight and fits in the overhead in most flights. Maybe not the small regional jets but in most regular flights we haven’t had any issues with it.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Recommendations For 16 Month Old ->You don’t « need » 3 but it could be more comfortable. You do you! You could get a Thule Glide as an everyday/jogging stroller and get a smaller travel stroller. We have the Vista V2 and Bugaboo Butterfly for our 2 kids. I LOVE the Vista but the Butterfly is also amazing!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Do we really need multiple strollers ? [qc] ->I had no issues with my Bugaboo Butterfly on Qantas Bris-Sydney flights.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram for 3 month old (overhead locker on plane) ->I got the Buggaboo Butterfly and it’s amazing! The one hand fold is a life saver. We have travelled interstate with it and it was perfect for getting around the airport and had no issues with putting it in the overhead cabin. It’s also really easy to wash. I use it so much now that I’ve sold our big main pram and just have the Butterfly.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram that’s an excellent all-round everyday pram ->When my baby was small, it was nice to have the big Vista and bassinet for walks around the neighborhood, but as soon as she got old enough to start doing things, getting the Vista in and out of the car, up/down stairs, in and out of storage became a nightmare. We got the bugaboo butterfly and it is honestly in the top 3 purchases I’ve ever made. -lightweight -you can actually fold and unfold with one hand -sturdy -fits in overhead compartment on airplanes -easy to clean (all the fabric parts come off)
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->Are you bringing her car seat? Most car seats fit into the bugaboo butterfly with adapters that they sell. This is what I did at 4 months w my Cybex car seat on the butterfly. Other option is the Jet 5 which lays flat I believe.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller for 4 month old? ->The MVP is the Bugaboo Butterfly imo. Nuna car seat can click it. So easy and stands up to anything.
r/NewParents • Difference between a “ travel” stroller/car seat and a regular? Make it make sense. ->Bugaboo Butterfly’s amazing as a stroller. We use it as our travel and full time stroller and have had it for two years and it has held up. Nuna car seat clicks in which mattered to us. I can’t really speak to its materials (I think best company on that is Bumbleride but they don’t make a travel I don’t think) but it’s PFAS free. I think Silver Cross is owned by one of the stroller giants (I think Silver Cross and Nuna are owned by/manufactured by same folks).
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Please share any recommendations for a travel stroller ? ->i LOVE the bugaboo butterfly travel stroller. i feel like I never hear anyone mentioning it though!
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->We have the bugaboo butterfly and really like it. I just got it for under $300 after stacking coupons and promos at target. It was cheaper than the ergobaby, which is why I got it. The 20% target coupon is still active in my target wallet so I’m assuming you can still claim them through the car seat trade in
r/BabyBumps • Best Stroller for Quick Trips and Tight Spaces? ->Hey, glad to find you asked the question - we have been tossing up between butterfly and skip3 also. We have ordered the skip 3 after demo day but not 100% sure it will arrive before our trip - we are considering butterfly on lay-by as a backup. Worth skip 3 if you have time as can do 30 day indoor trial and return if you don't like it. The skip 3 edged on the butterfly bc 1. better sunshade protection (I think one of the Australian designed aspects that is important) 2. cheaper 3. lie flat seat 4. sub 7kg - can take on plane. We paid extra around $30 for bumper bar and $25 for express shipping (10$ more than standard) and got free rain cover and sunshade extension. Butterfly - slightly easier 1 handed fold down - but both equally easy to pull up. Also slightly better manoeuvrability and quality of fabric. We did note the one in store had quite pulled fabric as you mentioned but I assumed it had been used and tested A LOT. Butterfly also has a slightly wider seat (don't think necessarily than much longer although unable to do side by side comparison). Sadly the memo used to stock both pram brands but no longer do reds baby. I think reds baby keep their prices lower by not succumbing to price gouging by the likes of baby bunting etc just MHO. Have found deals to get Butterly at similar price to reds baby and if it wasn't for the weight butterfly might win. Had a quick look at other well rated ones - Joolz has a short seat and no foot rest and small basket and city jogger doesn't have as good suspension so probably fine in airport but not on bumpy European streets for example. Yoyo also quite a bumpy experience have heard.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Help - Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+ or Redsbaby Skip 3? ->I got it as a travel stroller, because my everyday stroller is an old second hand stroller my MIL got us, that's a headache to fold or get in the car. Its durable, rides well in malls and paved roads, and it's very light. It does get stuck in dirt, but it depends on what you're looking to do. If you're looking to walk the neighborhood everyday, maybe try another stroller. If you're looking for something to use every few days when you're out, or you're looking to use it indoors more, then it's a great stroller. I use mine when we go to the grandparents, or when we're out. My baby likes it, she occasionally naps in it when she's tired, and it's nice that it's portable. I would say it's better for babies that are more upright, cuz it doesn't fully fold back
r/NewParents • Bought Bugaboo Butterfly by mistake ->I literally scoured the internet for a travel stroller for big kiddos. There is nothing that fits the weight limit/size needs! In a perfect stroller, I want a 150lb weight limit and a fold that fits within airplane cabin limits (think Babyzen Yoyo, Boogaboo Butterfly, etc). Seriously, I’d pay top dollar for that stroller. My child is too big for the seats on those models now (height/width). The issue we have is that my kiddo cannot walk through the airport, so counter checking the stroller is out. Gate checking is also out because often, strollers are delivered to the baggage claim area, or they take forever to be unloaded. My child does not have the tolerance to wait and that situation would cause a meltdown. We can’t do wagons because most airlines prohibit them, and even then, you’re taking the same risk to check them when walking endurance is an issue. Nice to haves are a good canopy to create a safe space, and some kind of storage.
r/Autism_Parenting • Autism Dad. I'm designing a travel friendly stroller for bigger kiddos, Need Your Input! ->durability, smoother ride, can handle more terrain and holds up better against wear and tear we love our Bugaboo which is similar to Uppababy. we have a Fox and recently purchased the Butterfly for travel (fits in the overhead and collapses with a one hand fold)
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->Mum of a 2 year old here. My family and I travel overseas at least 3 times a year. We started off with the Nuna Trvl pram however as my chunky monkey grew, he outgrew the pram. So we have just upgraded to the bugaboo butterfly. I absolutely love the butterfly and wish I bought it sooner
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram recommendations? ->I looked into strollers a bit when we had our first about a year and a half ago. I tried to research the build and quality of redababy but for nothing. I signed up to the stroller workshop patreon (their YouTube channel is maybe the great stroller resource on the internet) and asked there directly about reds baby. This was their response: "Hi, Redsbaby is purely sold in Australia / New Zealand as far as I know. We did have a look at the Jive3 in this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DAnZ1WnDbw&t=1613s , at 26.53), but our assessments were based purely on online research. Without actually seeing their strollers, it's hard to comment too much on their quality, but I’m a bit skeptical. There are very few brands truly designing their strollers themselves these days. Most just buy pre-existing design-components off of menus provided by manufacturing plants in China and then just add a few personalized touches (this is why so many strollers look the same), and scale can matter here for getting access to the best designs and components. If you can get great after-sales service by virtue of Redsbaby being Australian, then this might be a reason to get one of their models, but otherwise I would probably look on the wider market for more established premium brands. That being said, if you let me know a little bit what you’re looking for in a stroller (budget, terrain, how much you use a car to get around, weight or size considerations, and anything else you feel is important or are specifically looking for), then I’d be very happy to brainstorm some models with you if you’d like. :) Warm wishes to you and your family! Wade, The Stroller Workshop" ----- That resonated with me too personally as I felt like redsbaby was all marketing and fluff. We ultimately got a vista and a butterfly. We've traveled a lot with our baby.. and the butterfly has been great. Light and easy to carry. My favourite thing about it is how easy it is to open and close. Can be done with one hand.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Help - Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+ or Redsbaby Skip 3? ->Absolutely love my bugaboo butterfly. Bonus points for the fact that it fits so easily in the overhead bin. I basically use it everyday now as it’s so convenient compared to my stroller that came with the baby bucket seat
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Best travel stroller [ab] ->Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for but when traveling we use a Cosco Scenera Next clipped onto the back of a Bugaboo Butterfly
r/toddlers • What's next after Doona when you have no car?? ->Hi, I have just received my package of bugaboo butterfly which I thought it will fit into the overhead cabin flight but then I emailed the airline staff and they said their cabin standard size for carry on luggage is 56cm x 36cm x 23cm. Unfortunately the folded size of bugaboo butterfly is 53x45x24cm so I have to check in at the gate to be able to take into the plan. I would love to hear from your experience that were you be able to put it into overhead compartment? Thanks for your time
r/NewParents • Which color of Bugaboo Butterfly stroller do you have? ->I have the Bugaboo Butterfly and love it. We even use it at home now when we just need something easier to transport. I can’t imagine traveling with a full size stroller. I’ve seen people get their Vista gate checked in the UB travel bag and still end up getting broken. Yes, they’ll replace it - but then you’re still stuck with a broken stroller at your destination.
r/beyondthebump • Travel Strollers - It Finally Happened ->We use the bugaboo butterfly. Folds really easily (very important), huge under basket and is slim and light enough for travel and easy to load into car boots. Bugaboo warranty is also great. The butterfly 2.0 is coming out soon so the existing model is on sale at mothercare. I think the original price is about $840 and it’s $640 now. If are looking at buying a second hand one off Carousell, I would deep clean it first. Strollers get so dirty.
r/askSingapore • Parents in Singapore, where do you get your stroller and how much was it? ->Bugaboo butterfly is the best imo
r/daddit • Hey dad, what kind of travel stroller do you use? ->Buy buy baby was still in business when I was pregnant so I got to try folding, pushing, and lifting a lot of different strollers (well, what was available). We went with the Uppababy Cruz v2 as it has pretty much all of the features of the vista but was lighter and slightly smaller. I love that thing. The infant snug seat insert saved us as my baby hated the car seat. 2.5years later, we now also have a bugaboo butterfly (great travel stroller), britax jogging stroller (bought for $15 at a kid’s sale), and a larktale caravan coupe wagon. Not to mention one of those little push cars and a trike. There’s no right answer. Try to find some to try out and see what you like
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->we waited for over a year and finally pulled the trigger on it with the sale and 20% stack. it’s a fantastic stroller to keep in the car because it has such a small footprint and is very well-made. also you can get car seat adapters for it if you have an infant seat, so you may get more use out of it than you think. the criticisms about being a rough ride on uneven terrain are 100% warranted though because of the wheel size, but if you’re planning on using it in stores and sidewalks, it’s a great buy at the price you’d get it for.
r/Buyingforbaby • Should we buy bugaboo butterfly now? ->we love our bugaboo butterfly for air travel! we bought the travel bag made for it so we can carry it like a backpack and it helps protect it too.
r/NewParents • Best Overhead Compartment Airplane Stroller ->"Travel System" just means a stroller bundled with a compatible car seat. Most strollers are compatible with multiple car seats with adapters, so I wouldn't limit myself to just packages advertised as travel systems. The notable exceptions are Uppababy car seats, which I think are only compatible with Uppababy strollers, and Nuna strollers, which are only compatible with Nuna car seats. Apologies in advance as my examples are mostly the higher-end brands; I swear I'm not a plug for any of them, it's just the space I've done the most research. IMHO, the main factor you should consider (aside from budget) is lifestyle. I'd broadly group strollers into 5 categories (excluding 3-wheelers and side-by-sides, which I don't know much about). Narrowing down which category fits your lifestyle best will help you eliminate a bunch of strollers immediately, which will make it much easier to further narrow down the best choice for you: 1. Ultracompact/travel strollers: - Most compact fold; IATA-compliant (i.e., approved as overhead luggage by most* airlines, although each airline may be different) - Typically <= 15-ish lbs - Non-reversible seats - Typically tiny wheels (<= 6" at rear) and minimal suspension - E.g.: Uppababy Minu v3, Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+, Stokke/Babyzen Yoyo, Cybex Libelle, Peg Perego Volo, Ergobaby Metro +/3 2. Compact/Lightweight (Non-reversible) - Bigger (but still compact) fold, but probably not cabin approved. Can gate-check - Typically <=20-ish lbs - Non-reversible seats - Slightly bigger wheels (maybe 6-8" at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Minu v2, Nuna TRVL/TRVL LX, Cybex Beezy, Silver Cross Dune, Peg Perego Selfie 3. Hybrid (Lightweight Modular) - Bigger fold again, so won't fit in overhead, but should be able to gate-check. - <=24 lbs - Reversible (i.e., modular) seats - Bigger wheels (typically 7-10" at rear) - e.g., Nuna TRIV Next, Bugaboo Dragonfly, Peg Perego Vivace, Cybex Mios, Joolz Hub 2 4. Full-size Single (Modular) - Much bulkier fold; might not be able to gate-check, most likely have to be checked luggage - Typically >24 lbs - Bigger wheels (typically 10"+ at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Cruz v2, Nuna Mixx Next, Cybex Balios S Lux 2, Cybex Priam, Peg Perego Veloce, Silver Cross Reef, Bugaboo Fox, Joolz Day 5. Single-to-double - Has ability to add a second seat - Biggest folded dimensions; will be checked luggage - Typically >26 lbs - Biggest wheels (typically 11"+ at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Vista v2/v3, Nuna Demi Grow/Next, Cybex Gazelle S, Peg Perego Ypsi/Agio Z4, Silver Cross Wave, Bugaboo Kangaroo, Joolz Geo Everything above is a gross generalization - the Bugaboo Fox has massive 12" rear wheels and the Agio Z4 is lighter and folds more compact than most full-size single strollers. I think it might be easier to ignore categories 1 and 5 above as they have more specific use cases, unless you're having twins (although a side-by-side might be better in this case) or know for a fact you'll want the ability to toss the stroller in the overhead right from the get-go. So, between categories 2-4, the first question would be whether you want a reversible seat so the baby can face you? If you want this feature, then eliminate category 2. You're left with just 3 and 4, which should hopefully be a more manageable decision. Do you live downtown and walk everywhere? Then a compact fold might not matter for you and you'll want a sturdier stroller that can go over more varied types of terrain and stand up to all-day use - so stick to the full-size single category. If you live in the suburbs and drive everywhere, you might want what I've called a "hybrid", which has a reversible seat but still folds smaller than other full-size singles (easier to fit in trunk). As others have mentioned, I would also highly recommend trying them in-store. I actually found Dear-born baby to have more strollers to play around with than WCK, which had many options locked up.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller Stress - Any Recommendations [CA] ->I live in Mississauga so obviously a different scenario, but I own two strollers. The first and original is the Uppababy Cruz. We used this while baby was in the Mesa V2 and it was great. When it was too heavy for me to lift the Mesa in and out of the car with baby in it, we switched to our convertible car seat and we tried using the Cruz with the seat and the whole thing was so heavy and bulky. That’s when we bought a bugaboo butterfly for trips in the car, and use the Cruz for neighbourhood walks (which there are many). That being said. I would just purchase a main stroller now, like a Cruz, and decide later if you need a travel stroller. The bugaboo butterfly cannot replace the Cruz for longer outdoor walks or on anything that isn’t pavement or a mall tile floor. I used to live near St Lawrence market and any cobblestone or bumps and baby is going to get jostled in a travel stroller.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller/Travel System recommendations for FTM, baby due early January [ON] ->We have 3. 1. Uppa baby vista (comes with bassinet attachment and we have the car seat adapter for our Nuna pipa) 2. Bugaboo butterfly travel stroller 3. Veer wagon We use all 3 and very differently. They were expensive but one was gifted and they are worth it. We made sure to buy these ones since they can be used into the toddler years.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->I think bugaboo is increasing their price soon so I just purchased it in case this was affected
r/Buyingforbaby • Should we buy bugaboo butterfly now? ->If you are doing high end like UppaBaby, second hand is the way to go. We got one that was 9 years old for $50, replaced all the fabric to make it new, and it works perfectly and I don't care about walking it out in the rain and snow (city walkers). We also had a smaller travel stroller and started with Yoyo. Hated it. The wheels tremor if you walk too fast and there is 0 storage underneath. There are much better options now and we are happier with the Bugaboo butterfly. Similar size, weight, and much better storage. Almost all travel stroller lay kind of flat and don't sit upright which is frustrating for my kiddo who likes to sit upright. But the travel stroller is amazing for trips. Also agree with what others said. Think about how much you will really use it. In the city, the stroller is our car, it's how we get anywhere so under storage and size really matter for grocery shopping. My SIL in the suburbs splurged on a new UppaBaby and after 2 kids it's like brand new because they just don't use it.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->I think the challenging thing I’m seeing here is that you don’t plan on using an infant bucket seat - I had a similar wish list, and in my research there weren’t many travel strollers that were “newborn ready” without a bucket seat or bassinet attachment. All options that I found required some head control (about 4 months old minimum) before you could safely use the seat. I think maybe the new Nuna Trvl LX miiight be newborn ready? The bugaboo butterfly was awesome but technically not newborn safe (though there are hacks…which I was not willing to do with my newborn haha). We went with the Nuna triv next for the one hand, compact fold. We did end up going with a bucket seat instead of straight to convertible for convenience, but it had an option for the bassinet attachment as an alternative. We are in the northeast and used it in the winter without issue. We love it so far…but we really could only switch to the regular seat (even fully reclined) when she was 4.5 months old.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller help ->I went down a dark hole on travel strollers recently as we want one for an upcoming cruise. I bought a Bombi V2, an Ergobaby Metro+ Deluxe and a Bugaboo Butterfly. \- Bombi was great for the money, even with the purchase of a snack tray, it was by the cheapest option but it also felt a little less premium than the other two, not terrible though, also the green color was a little too green, and the fold wasn't as compact although only marginally bigger, it did have the best fold, very similar to the Nuna. \-Ergobaby Metro+Deluxe, although the MSRP is $399, amazon recently had it on sale for $320 and a 30% coupon so it came out to $220. We really liked this stroller, the lay flat was great, nice sized wheels, premium feel, the main issue that deterred my wife is the size of the basket, her large Dagne Dover bag did not fit and the fold/unfold is a little more complicated than the other two. \-Bugaboo - Picked up an open-box off ebay for $29x, the fold is nice, although Bombi is smoother, the basket is huge, easily fit the diaper bag, my wife wasn't a fan that it did not lay flat like the Ergobaby but everything else checked most of the boxes. That being said, we are interested in the Minu V3 that is coming out as it appears to check all the boxes, looks like it lays more flat than the Bugaboo, has a 20lb capacity basket, is newborn capable out of the box, will work with our Uppababy Aria car seat. It basically looks like a Butterfly copy but with improvements. After the stroller showdown we had in our living room, we decided to return the Bombi and the Ergobaby, we pre-ordered the Minu V3 but have also kept the Bugaboo just in case the Minu does not arrive in time or has some fatal flaw we don't know about yet. With the purchase price of under $300 for a new Bugaboo, I should be able to recoup my money if we end up with the Minu V3.
r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz aer+ vs bugaboo butterfly ->Update: I found a new Bugaboo Butterfly for sale by Target on eBay for $316
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller - Analysis Paralysis ->Main stroller- vista 2 with Nuna Pipa infant seat (need attachment to make compatible); transitioned kiddo to regular seat around 6-7m. Seat is reviewable so they can face forward when you are ready. Travel- bugaboo butterfly Can’t use butterfly until around 6M but it’s the perfect traveler - it fits in overheard bin of most planes. High quality stroller, folds with one hand. We have loved this setup.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->We really love our bugaboo butterfly
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller recommendations, smaller than vista but more comfortable than a travel stroller [on] ->Butterfly has been great for us! We have traveled with it across the US, in Europe, and in Southeast Asia and it holds up everywhere we go. It fits in the overhead and one time we even put it under the seat in front of us on a US domestic Jet Blue flight because the overhead bins were those tiny ones a 1-2 jumper plane (although I will say the more you travel, the less you want your stroller with you in the cabin). We’ve used it on cobblestone streets in Europe and literally dragged it on beaches in California. It’s really narrow so navigates tight spaces well. We can also carry it - even now with our two yr old in it - when there are just a few stairs to navigate. It does occasionally get stuck on a lip, so you need to apply pressure on the handle as you are driving it (I say this bc our normal strolled is the Vista, and you can basically run that thing over a snowbank with a single finger it drives so easily). Also, recline has been fine for us. We traveled at 4 mos with my daughter and she napped in it fully reclined even though it wasn’t flat. Now that she’s two, recline is more than enough. She mostly sleeps in it sitting fully upright as we are walking around. Easy to close and open, but you have to get used to pushing the button and flicking the wrist to open. Also, tons of space underneath. We regularly put the pack n play and or a very large duffle bag underneath when we travel.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Help! ->We have the Uppababy Vista, Bugaboo Butterfly, and Nuna Triv. The Triv was purchased after we found out our baby wasn’t ready for the Butterfly yet, he would always cry after like 30 minutes in it as I think he was overwhelmed and wanted to be parent-facing. The butterfly says it’s for 6+ months, but from what I’ve read many babies aren’t ready to be world-facing yet at that age. So we got the Triv as it has a reversible seat and is still fairly compact. The Vista is just big and heavy to be lifting in and out of the car imo, but it’s definitely the smoothest and nicest ride for both of us. We used the Vista mainly for long neighborhood walks and we have been using the toddler seat with infant insert since baby was about 3 months because he wanted to look around more. Will probably get a wagon when he’s closer to one year, and maybe a running stroller at some point. Just fyi, our baby grew out of the infant seat right before six months and we never took it out of the car much anyway, so having a stroller that attaches may not be as big of a deal as you think. Car seats are not really recommended for extended durations anyway and aren’t as comfortable for many babies as a bassinet or stroller seat with infant insert. That is also the feedback I’ve heard on the Doona - some people really love it but personally I would never use it. Yes, we are those people who spend thousands on strollers… we are lucky to be in a postion where these aren’t “big” purchases for us. Definitely not true that everyone really needs multiple strollers like this. You can also get a carrier and choose to carry baby around rather than bringing a stroller with you when traveling, for example. But you can get popular strollers fairly cheap used if you are finding you have a specific need not met by your main stroller.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->Bugaboo Butterfly!!! Took it on the plane for our trip to Florida no issues! And the shoulder strap makes it inconspicuous so we were never stopped and asked about it while boarding. The flight attendants thought it was the coolest thing ever when we were putting it in the overhead bin.
r/Buyingforbaby • Recommendations for a stroller that's for an 8mo and fits overhead compartment on a plane? ->I had the Nuna mix, love it, but for travel we got the Uppababy Minu and I hated it. So for the next travel I got the bugaboo butterfly which I love! Me personally, I think the bugaboo butterfly would be a perfect blend of that. Maybe the wheels aren’t the hefty kind but the Bugaboo handled Taiwan and Japan very well and it was compatible as a carry on. You can also get an adapter to put an infant car seat.
r/BabyBumps • Is it possible to have just one stroller?? ->We bought a bugaboo butterfly for our Japan trip. It was great. Folds up easily, and we got the bag for it and it fit in the overhead no problem. We also bought a UV net thing and a stroller fan, and baby girl had a little air conditioned oasis for her naps.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel stroller recommendations [BC] ->I have a bugaboo Fox 5. I just bought the bugaboo Butterfly on sale as we are going to Japan in May. I like that we'll be able to fold it up and have it in the cabin with us so no chance it gets lost, and it'll be a lot easier to maneuver around Japan with the smaller travel one as well.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Buying a travel stroller vs using Uppababy Cruz on trips [on] ->I think there’s a few things here: 1. Part of what makes stroller shopping so hard is the attempt to “have it all.” Realistically no stroller will truly do it all. Once you find comfort in knowing what it needs to do for you, you can rest a little easier and ignore what doesn’t apply. 2. Personally I decided that I wanted to prioritize lightweight & infant compatibility without using the car seat, so I narrowed down to that “cohort” (yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, joolz aer +, nuna trvl) 3. Once I narrowed it down I used some desktop research to eliminate (eg too much bad reviews on yo-yo for me) but the biggest driver at this point was interacting with the strollers in store! On paper I could have spent forever trying to debate Bugaboo and Joolz. In store — the stroller picked me. For whatever reason I kept crashing the bugaboo and had no problems with Joolz. In conclusion- half the battle is defining your criteria half the battle is going in person to see for yourself and then after that it’s just sticking to your convictions as you keep getting bombarded with marketing and advice where people apply their own needs and declare their choice the end all be all! You got this!!
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller help ->We got joolz aer + with bassinet and are planning to get Nuna Pipa. Highly recommend that you try to experience them in person if possible. I really liked Bugaboo Butterfly too before “test driving” and maybe I’m a dork but I found the handling much more difficult on Bugaboo than Joolz - it was so obvious which to get bc with the doll/weight I kept running into things with Bugaboo 🤪🤦♀️. I could never have online researched my way to such a clear conclusion!
r/Buyingforbaby • Mid-size or travel stroller for "one and done"? ->We got the uppababy vista and a Nuna full size stroller as hand me downs. Both were WAY too heavy and bulky to take anywhere. They basically fill the whole trunk of my volvo xc40. I just got the Bugaboo Butterfly and I have a Nuna Pipa infant car seat. It can be put in the Bugaboo with adaptors without taking the regular seat out. We never used the bassinet attachment for the Vista, so for me it was a null extra. If you plan to walk daily in your neighborhood from birth and you have a garage that’s ground level, you could go for a stroller with bassinet, but if you plan to use the stroller for outings and travel, I would skip. Get the Bugaboo Butterfly 2 or the Uppababy Minu 3. Both just came out and you can put in overhead compartment. Pair either with a Nuna Pipa Infant carseat and then size up to a Nuna or Clek convertible car seat after 1-year old. Don’t get the uppababy carseat even if u get the Minu stroller.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I’m not sure about how upright the seats are but I tried both of these as well as the Joolz Aer plus and Yo-yo 3 and ended up getting the Joolz Aer Plus. The sales person told me they have had tons of issues with the butterfly’s wheels falling off and she can’t recommend it. The Minu was much heavier than the Joolz and Yo-yo. I didn’t like where the carry strap was located on the Minu. My husband couldn’t fold the yo-yo. Joolz was easy all around. You can also add car seat adapters and they have a bassinet if you want to use it for a small baby.
r/Buyingforbaby • Uppa baby Minu 3 or bugaboo butterfly 2 ->I love my Bugaboo Butterfly (single-handed fold for the win!). I’ve fit it in the overhead compartment on many domestic and international Delta flights, no problem, although it unsurprisingly won’t fit in a regional jet.
r/NewParents • Best Overhead Compartment Airplane Stroller ->I have three strollers, and I firmly believe 90% of people will be perfectly fine with a travel stroller. They’re lightweight, compact, and (unlike something like an umbrella stroller) sturdy and have under-carriage storage. Unless you have a *heavy* walking-centric lifestyle in rough terrain or need something specialized like a jogging stroller, a travel stroller is going to be the most versatile option and probably meet all your needs. Look into ride-along boards for your older kid—they’re wheeled boards that latch onto the base of the stroller and provide an alternate seat option for a toddler who may need an occasional break. ETA: My travel stroller is the Bugaboo Butterfly, and I love it. One-handed fold is *awesome*!
r/BabyBumps • Is it possible to have just one stroller?? ->I went through this exact dilemma recently and had also narrowed it down to the CT2 and Aer+. After trying out all the prams in store I ended up going with the Aer+, it was just so easy to fold and unfold and carry on my shoulder. I also liked that it has a really good sun shade, and a really tall seat (my bub is reasonably tall). The CT2 does have the advantage of lying flat though, bub hasn’t tried napping in the Aer+ yet so not sure if it will be an issue. It shouldn’t matter but the Aer+ was just all around more attractive as well, and I got it in the sandy taupe colour which I love and think is better than black. The Bugaboo Butterfly was also great but I was worried about taking it on the plane being slightly over 7kg. I’m sure it would be fine, I just didn’t want to have to worry about it!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Joolz Aer+ or Baby Jogger City Tour 2? (Or something else?) ->Kids aren’t really supposed to be in the car seat outside of the car, especially when they’re littler due to the risk of positional asphyxiation. I’d get a nice travel stroller that will last you a lot longer that can fold up nicely. We have the bugaboo butterfly and adore it. The Yoyo and Minu are good and I believe both can have bassinet attachments also to use if you’re going on trips before kiddo can sit upright.
r/beyondthebump • What do y’all think about the doona? ->Bugaboo butterfly! The quality and roll on it is amazing!
r/Buyingforbaby • Compact stroller that rides well ->We love our Butterfly but the Minu V3 wasn’t out when we got it! That might’ve turned our heads. Liked the Butterfly much better than the Joolz or the Yoyo though—we looked at all three side by side in person.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller ->We have a bugaboo butterfly and absolutely love it. It’s very easy to maneuver and collapse and we can fit a surprising amount of junk in the basket when needed. We also have a silver cross wave as our main stroller and love it as well. It’s flame retardant and phthalate free.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Please share any recommendations for a travel stroller ? ->I wouldnt bring either. I would bring a cosco scenera next for carseat because its cheap and lightweight and a travel stroller that folds small (i reccomend city tour 2 because it’s inexpensive and we love it, but babyzen yoyo, uppababy minu or bugaboo butterfly are all also highly reccomended). Buy travel stroller secondhand to save money. You cannot use your doona as a stroller in europe. Like absolutely not. At that point its an incredibly heavy carseat, i wouldnt want to lug that accross the globe. Your main stroller is also so bulky and heavy.
r/Mommit • Should we bring our main stroller to Italy? ->I have the Bugaboo Fox5 and the Butterfly. The butterfly stays in my car now, but I only got it when my son was around 8 months old. Originally I bought it for air travel but it’s so easy to use that now I use it for every day outings. That said, I LOVE the Fox5. It really depends on your area/lifestyle, but I felt the splurge was necessary for a few reasons: 1. We lived in a hyper-walkable area and walked almost everywhere. We also walked our dog miles every day, which we brought baby along for. 2. The bassinet attachment is approved for safe sleep. Baby napped in his bassinet on the Fox frequently and it even came in handy as a bedside bassinet once or twice in a pinch. 3. The build quality and ease of use is incredible. I beat the hell out of our Fox5, have stuffed its basket to the brim, and have clocked probably >100 miles on it. Literally never had a problem with it and it still looks almost brand new. 4. Car seat compatibility. I got the adapters for the Fox that made it able to click in with the car seat we had (Nuna air). Although I preferred the bassinet for my guy as it is better for their development, having the ability to click his car seat into the stroller base came in handy a lot.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->I recommend getting a high quality travel stroller over a full sized one (bugaboo butterfly, joolz aer, or yoyo). I have both and most people much prefer the travel stroller except for my 6’3” husband (travel strollers don’t have adjustable handlebars). It’s so light and compact and eventually your kid gets heavy enough that the full sized stroller feels hefty when pushing.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->Have you explored bugaboo? We have the dragonfly because the bassinet folds flat and super smooth maneuvering it. If you don’t need a bassinet, the butterfly is a great option too!
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->I would never want to take my uppababy travelling anywhere. I’ve used the bugaboo butterfly since day one travelling and it’s amazing! Couldn’t imagine lugging that heavy uppababy around anywhere.
r/NewParents • Is Uppababy stroller & car seat too much for airport? ->I love love our Bugaboo Butterfly
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Help me pick a travel stroller! [ca] ->Bugaboo Butterfly, we've flown extensively with it since my daughter was 6 months. I can't recommend it enough!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel Stroller Recommendations [ON] ->My uppababy Cruz has been unreal in the Toronto winters, and just generally amazing getting around everywhere in the city, I’m so grateful for it! If you’re looking for very small and lightweight there are lots of travel strollers but what you get in compact and lightweight you won’t get as good in wheels and winter handling. I also have the Bugaboo Butterfly and it’s an amazing travel stroller, but nowhere near as amazing as my uppababy in the winter.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Recommendations for Stroller for 6 months old [ON] ->Are you me??? Im dying withoununa aire rx rn!! I am 5’5 and my husband is over a foot taller than me. We are going with the silver cross reef 2, bugaboo butterfly and nuna aire rx. The silver cross is soooo smooth and lux, it will last forever but it can be heavy (I plan on removing the seat from the frame when I put it in the car). We got the bundle with the bassinet attachment that’s safe for sleep for around $1,500. Then we got the bugaboo butterfly ($450) for travel, but that’s for when babe is around 6 months old. It’s super light weight and has a tall back, which is good if you end up with a taller kiddo. Picked the nuna aire rx ($600) because it’s so light weight, I like the features and materials. I found a lot of the cheaper options fall apart quickly and don’t seem comfy at all, but obviously every baby is different. There is no wrong option, everything does the same thing and goes through the same safety inspections
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I initially purchased the uppababy vista because of course it was everywhere and just looked like one of the best. For me personally it was heavy and annoying to put in/out of the trunk but most the normal full size strollers are going to be like that. Then I got the bugaboo butterfly which is a travel stroller and have only used the vista once to go to the zoo. Although, if we were to go on a beach staycation or Disney or the zoo etc I would prefer the big stroller with the huge basket.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->We have the Uppababy Vista V2 for around town and the Buggaboo Butterfly for travel. We have taken tons of trips with our son and I sincerely find the Butterfly to be worth the money. It’s so light and convenient to put away/set up single handed. We did 2 flights with the Vista and it was fine but definitely a pain to gate check, especially if you’re flying solo with your kiddo. For our second kiddo we’ll get the Butterfly car seat attachment and add the ride along attachment for our toddler!
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->If you don't live somewhere with snowy winters/rough terrain where you'd need bigger wheels, I really recommend the bugaboo butterfly with the turtle car seat that can snap onto it. The stroller is super compact but still have lots of room in the basket for stuff. The car seat is light and since it goes on the stroller you can use the set from birth. The butterfly is my indoor/travel stroller, we also have a bugaboo fox which got us thru a canadian winter but honestly if not for that the butterfly would be enough.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->previously had the bugaboo butterfly, but I traded it in for the minu v3 and have no regrets. As for flying, be careful because car seats have to be FAA approved. Not sure if the rotating car seats are approved. As someone else said, investing in a cheap Cosco brand car seat may be the best idea for airline travel.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel + everyday stroller and rotating car seat ->Kind of pricey, but we love the Bugaboo Butterfly
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller for 18 Month Old ->I could be wrong, but I believe most compact travel strollers do not have adjustable handles. I had the Bugaboo Butterfly and sold it for the Minu v3 and both were not adjustable handles.
r/Buyingforbaby • Uppababy Minu V3 Handle ->Bugaboo Butterfly fits overhead. Great stroller. Haven’t had any issues with it. And you’re right, it does not lie flat or that low.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Help! ->Stormy blue has faded so so badly with only 2 weeks of use on two sun holidays! Really surprised and shocked at how much it has. It doesn't get hot though. Wish I had got black bow as it seems better
r/NewParents • Which color of Bugaboo Butterfly stroller do you have? ->We have *four*; but let me explain. lol 1. **Bugaboo Fox 5** is our everyday and we used the bassinet from birth. 2. **Schwinn Interval Jogger Travel System** - Hubby wanted a jogging stroller with rubber tires. 3. **Chariot Double Jogging Kit** - for biking/jogging 4. **Bugaboo Butterfly** for travel. This has been such an amazing purchase for travel and we often keep it in the car as a “just in case” Do we need 4 strollers? Probably not. Do we use 4 strollers? Yes, we do.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Do we really need multiple strollers ? [qc] ->My 4YO refuses to sit in the stroller. We now have the bugaboo butterfly with their ride on board. It has a seat and is wayyyy easier to travel with than a double which always has an empty chair.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Double travel stroller recommendations [ca] ->We love our bugaboo butterfly.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram recommendations? ->Love the butterfly. One handed fold is life!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best travel pram (for overseas) ->Butterfly is the best travel stroller out there!! It’s been all over the world with us and boarded every single flight with us. Buy it!! Also it’s held up sooo great through terrible Vietnam streets for months of use 😂👏 couldn’t recommend a baby product more!!
r/Buyingforbaby • Should we buy bugaboo butterfly now? ->I have the Bugaboo Butterfly as my main stroller. We have no car, so I needed something light enough that I could schlep it on and off public transit, up and down stairs, etc. I love it.
r/toddlers • Favorite Travel Stroller? ->another vote for getting a travel stroller. Travelled with Cruz before, it was not convenient. the stroller required to disassemble and assemble to get in and out of the bag ( I also bought the Uppababy travel bag, it was over 200 dollars after tax. But it’s not so durable, it got ruined after one trip) Plus we had a hard time fitting the troller in a cab ( this was in Bangkok though) Second trip we bought a bugaboo butterfly… so much more convenient but ofc the maneuver isn’t as nice and smooth like the Cruz
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Buying a travel stroller vs using Uppababy Cruz on trips [on] ->I wish I researched more. I let my second time mom friend convince me uppababy is king. While its a great stroller (I have a cruz) I would’ve stuck with the Bugaboo line. I got uppababy cruz v2 with my first because I read the vista is massive and not great as a double stroller. Its a wonderful stroller don’t get me wrong but….my now almost 3 year old who is on the tall side for his age, is too tall for it (his head hits the canopy.) We still use it but now mostly with my infant. Got the kickboard attachment thinking my toddler will love this but he prefers to ride in it so when I do have it, I babywear my infant. Then for travel when my toddler was really mobile we got the Bugaboo butterfly. LOVE this stroller!! So compact, tallest seat height, and easy to use. Then I had a second baby 2.5 years later. Now learning about the Bugaboo Donkey 5 and wish I had this to begin with. Love that it can be a single with a sidecar, or convert to a side by side double!!! It’s expensive AF and I can’t justify splurging on another luxury stroller at this time without selling my others and don’t want to go through that headache. My infant is only 5 months so I’m gonna wait this out a bit before deciding if I need a double stroller or a wagon. Leaning towards getting the Zoe twin if we need to when my infant is bigger. Or may need to babywear my second for far longer.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->Another vote for Bugaboo Butterfly!
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller ->I like my green one!
r/NewParents • Which color of Bugaboo Butterfly stroller do you have? ->We swapped to a bugaboo butterfly when LO was around 1. Much easier to carry or put somewhere when they’re walking around places.
r/UKParenting • Travel stroller? ->I have the bugaboo butterfly and yes it’s a lifesaver. It’s so compact and fits in the overhead bins and it’s so light! You’re not going to regret having it
r/NewParents • Stroller disagreement ->We recently traveled to TN. I was torn between the butterfly and Joolz aer+. We purchased both and I ultimately decided on the Joolz and I’m so happy. It is super lightweight but also very sturdy (we use the Nuna Mixx so I’m used to something sturdy). I’ve actually been using the Joolz more than my Nuna these days, it’s just so easy to bring around and the deep recline is huge for traveling through the airport. [The Ultimate Guide to Travel Strollers: Top Picks for Every Parent’s Needs](https://sproutwithsammie.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-travel-strollers-top-picks-for-every-parents-needs/)
r/NewParents • Best Travel Stroller? ->I love love loveeee my butterfly and wish I got it so much sooner. Light, storage basket is a good size, has a one-move open unlike the yoyo. I spent a while looking on marketplace for one second hand but honestly people try to sell them for close to the price brand new so I opted for that to get a warranty - also I’m going to use the hell out of it so it’s probably best I got it new. I’d recommend taking your baby in to baby bunting and trying them out though - mine really hated some travel prams so I ruled a lot out by doing this!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best Travel Pram ->Baby is 6 months and I bought a secondhand bugaboo butterfly (really lightweight stroller) and LOVE how easy it is to go on walks, how smooth it feels and how small it folds. It feels much better than the cheaper strollers I used before.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->We went through a few with just one kid: - Maxi Cosi Zelia - Maclaren Triumph - Uppababy G-Lux - Bugaboo Chameleon - Bugaboo Bee3 - Bugaboo Buffalo (favorite full size stroller) - Bugaboo Donkey3 - Bugaboo Butterfly (favorite travel stroller) - Diono (idk what model, it was free with a car seat) - GB Qbit Stroller - Babyzen Yoyo - Babyzen Yoyo2 (runner up favorite travel stroller) - Veer Wagon (only wagon, kinda wanna try the Wonderfold if #2 happens) I bought most of them used as well other than the travel strollers.
r/daddit • My wife has a crazy addiction to buying strollers. So we’ve tried em all. ->Ong please take the butterfly. It’s legit a lifesaver. You won’t regret it and it can be taken onto the airplane and stowed in overhead too.
r/NewParents • Stroller disagreement ->If you are considering longer use, just want to share how we love our Bugaboo Butterfly. The seat height is really long so will probably last us til 6-7 yrs old. It’s our main stroller bought when kid was already 2 yrs old
r/Preschoolers • Stroller advice for 4 year old ->I’ve seen them open boxed on goodbuygear occasionally. However I will tell you I have several strollers and the butterfly is used 96% the time for me. It lives in my car and actually has a pretty decent sized basket and traction on rougher terrain (I saw a post below of having trouble steering it and just wanted to share that has not been my case at all). I only use my full sized strollers when I need a double or are doing Disneyland or something like that
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly ->I love our butterfly and honestly there’s a decent chance your cat carrier would fit underneath if it’s soft sided! I can fit a huge backpack and other things
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Help! ->Black and we’ve never had issues with it getting too hot. I guess if you’re taking long walks in the blazing sun it would probably get hot but for your average use it’s just fine
r/NewParents • Which color of Bugaboo Butterfly stroller do you have? ->I loooove the butterfly! It’s my main stroller. Easy to travel with too!
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly or Minu? ->Bugaboo Butterfly is amazing, I love it. It does well over most terrain, you can steer it with one hand, good sized basket and easy to clean. Well worth the money - one handed fold too! The only down side is that it isn’t fully lie flat but that’s not stopped kiddo from enjoying naps in it. I’ve taken it on 2 flights (easyJet and Ryanair) but have paid for it as a bag - you’re not guaranteed to take it into the cabin if you don’t pay for it, but it’s worth it 100% for stress free disembarking from the plane!! ETA: the only cabin approved prams are the butterfly, joolz aer and the now stokke, formerly babyzen, yoyo.
r/UKParenting • Travel Stroller - Best Options / Real World Experiences? ->Bugaboo butterfly. Spenny but brilliant. Drives great, good basket, good canopy, nice and comfy, goes to 22kg and has the tallest back on the market meaning it will last longer for tall kiddos.
r/UKParenting • The goldilocks travel stroller - does it exist?? ->Cybex and Nuna are better than Mockingbird as a general brand guideline. But it sounds like you want more of a travel or mid size stroller rather than a full sized one - full sized ones (like the Vista) are nice and typically have a lot of bonus features, better steering, etc, but they're pretty big and bulky and not super easy to take places. I personally have a full sized one for at home use walking the dog regularly, and then a smaller travel stroller for the car. If I was going somewhere that would be all day or tons of walking I'd bring the big one but for just a quick trip to the park it's not worth the hassle. So for travel strollers, I'd look at the uppababy minu v3 or the nuna trvl. Bugaboo butterfly is also solid but it's pricier. Those will all fold up easily and fit in the car pretty well. They do have lighter frames and aren't quite as sturdy or smooth of a push as a bigger stroller. Another option would be the uppababy Cruz or nuna mixx, which are in between the two. Not quite full sized so easier to travel with but not as compact as a full on travel stroller. It'll have a better push and be a little sturdier but without all of the bulk of a full sized. Bugaboo's version (again, very nice but pricey) is the dragonfly. I'm not as familiar with cybex's models but my stroller obsessed MIL likes them!
r/BabyBumps • What's the best stroller for me? ->I obsessed over a travel stroller. Here are my notes on these two. colugo: not compatible with my carseat, but infant kit available and folds compact with it, no second kid options , maybe 3rd party, no belly bar, bin is deep. Middle of the pack weight wise. Fits on plane. Scored 80/108 on my rubric Butterfly: not car seat compatible, high Price, no infant option, mid range weight wise. Lower child weight limit than colugo, but higher bin weight limit. Scored 80/108 on my rubric For the record, we purchased the Joolz aer after all my obsessing. And we use a luggage strap to tuck the Cosco seat up behind the stroller seat under the handlebar
r/toddlertips • Bugaboo butterfly or colugo travel stroller ->We’ve got a tall boy and opted for the butterfly. We purchased it for travel but it’s also now our daily and sits in the boot, takes up much less space and we love it. It’s also got the (comparatively) bigger basket. Another thing we considered was the sunshade, this canopy pulls all the way down and has a mesh viewing panel.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Help - Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+ or Redsbaby Skip 3? ->My dream travel stroller is the Bugaboo Butterfly in addition to our Uppababy Vista. It is simple to use and has an under carriage. UB is just challenging to take in and out of the car. Also taking it apart etc. but I love it for winters, hiking, general walks etc. The idea of a compact/ overhead stroller is nice but, so far gate checking it has been an option. Although, I heard in Europe you’re forced to check it.
r/Buyingforbaby • 2 Strollers?! ->I like bugaboo butterfly but you have to buy the little handle bar separately and also have to remove it and store somewhere for it to be cabin approved (depends on airlines) The other caveat it’s not a sit up straight stroller so can be a bit getting used to
r/UKParenting • Best cabin approved pushchair? ->I flew with our bugaboo butterfly this week on jetstar - we didn’t know about the bag rule and didn’t have one with us. They made us gate check the pram, but they said if we bring garbage bags next time we fly just throw it in a garbage bag and then we can take it on board
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • My experience with the Bugaboo Butterfly pram on Jetstar ->Midwest mom of an October baby here. Unless you’re very avid walkers as a crucial part of your lifestyle, I would honestly plan on baby wearing for the first 6 months and just getting a stroller that will suit kiddo once they’re 6m old. When October baby was born, we had our bugaboo fox set up in bassinet mode, which we had used happily with our previous July baby the whole summer he has born. I think with October baby we used it twice? Maybe 3 times. And then the weather got cold and wet and we didn’t want to be taking a newborn out, and even if we did, we wore him so that he stayed warm and snuggled against us. By the time we were going on walks regularly, he was 6 months and the Fox was back in its upright position. Don’t get me wrong, I love our Fox, it’s amazing. But I also love our Butterfly. If you’re planning on traveling a lot and going on neighborhood walks and want to save money, I would just get the Butterfly. By the time you’re ready to travel again, even if baby isn’t 6m, he/she will probably be big enough to handle the full recline of the Butterfly, and it’s a phenomenal travel stroller imo. Bugaboo engineering is excellent.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller help ->I have a colugo and actually just purchase the butterfly. My 3 year old seeks to be growing out of the colugo and the back is 3 inches shorter than the butterfly.
r/toddlertips • Bugaboo butterfly or colugo travel stroller ->Bugaboo butterfly is the best travel stroller imo. It feels sturdy, the folding mechanism is simple and intuitive, and I know this is subjective but my baby loves it. The babyzen seems too fidgety and doesn’t feel as sturdy imo. The nuna trvl is top heavy and small enough for a compact fit in a trunk but won’t go in an overhead bin. The salesperson at Nordstrom, who is incentivized to sell them, showed me how easy it is to tip them over with baby inside and it doesn’t seem like could happen day to day but it was enough to tip my decision, pun intended, to the bugaboo. We have nuna everything else aside from our travel stroller and really wanted the trvl to fit our ‘system’ but based on the salespersons advice (saying it was a rare miss by Nuna) we went different direction. I think it’s probably a ‘better’ stroller than a true ultra small travel stroller, as it seems like the wheels etc are better but just make sure you judge the weight balance issue yourself. And I’m not shitting on anyone else’s decision! I just felt like the butterfly met my criteria and it has become one of my favorite baby purchases
r/Buyingforbaby • Best reclining travel stroller? ->Just get a bugaboo butterfly. It’s great
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller - Analysis Paralysis ->Yo-yo is nice. Look at the bugaboo butterfly. We have one and love it and tried both. Felt like it had less moving parts and a sturdier design
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller Recommendations For 16 Month Old ->Bugaboo butterfly is great. We use it more than our big stroller. It is really, really good for travel
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller ->We got the Bugaboo butterfly, it's worked well for us so far
r/BabyBumps • Is it possible to have just one stroller?? ->Hey, thanks for this post. We've been waiting on the Bugaboo Butterfly as our son is about to outgrow his DOONA. I wasn't aware that the tariff pricing was coming today, or that the stroller was currently on sale at Target. Thanks to you I was able to snag one of the last forest green strollers for $399 today vs. nearly $600 tomorrow.
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly 2 coming May 22 ->Bugaboo butterfly. It’s only flaw is not going newborns but 5 monther you are sweet. I’ve done 14 days in Japan, 10+ domestic trips and now it’s our main pram doing 2-3k walks on the regular. It’s 2 years old and looking good Ooooorrrr Joolz aer+ which wasn’t an option when I got the bugaboo. Joolz aer+ is way better than the aer option when I was shopping aaaand it does newborn. It’s a little bit taller too which at 6foot the bugaboo does feel just a smidge lower in the handle.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram recommendations? ->Bugaboo butterfly has done over ten flights with us and has been our main pram for > 12 months. Our GIANT two year old is comfortable in it and happily naps on the go in it. Great sun coverage compared to most of the others.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Joolz Aer+ or Baby Jogger City Tour 2? (Or something else?) ->Yes! its great. also the butterfly and joolz aer +. we compared loads of the travel strollers and I ended up making a spreadsheet comparing loads of their features here [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O2edDzHo9esNYuj-PoHSwfKchGVli1PXpKP9CLlW9Ko/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O2edDzHo9esNYuj-PoHSwfKchGVli1PXpKP9CLlW9Ko/edit?usp=sharing) and to see if the fit in as carry on. Just check the airlines carry on allowance - there is info on that in the speadsheet too.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel stroller that fits in overhead compartment? [AB] ->You don’t neeeeed, but I won’t lie, they’re nice to have. We’ve gone through several: we have the big boujie one which was my first big pregnancy purchase. It converts to a double, and has a huge storage basket. We use this around the neighborhood. It got a lot of KM during mat leave and still does on our daily walks/trips to the park! We have the bugaboo butterfly for travel. It fits well in the car and is easy to lug around. We had a jogging stroller (hand me down) which would’ve been great for snow or running, but if I was out with the stroller, I had my dog who is not a runner 😅. If you have space and live in the suburbs and want to go on trails and runs, I think it’s totally worth it to have multiple strollers for different occasions. If you live in the city and are tight on space, I’d spring for a fancy travel stroller (namely joolz aer) for which you can purchase a bassinet and car seat adapters and use that as your workhorse. I emphasize fancy because the features, suspension, folding mechanism on the premium models will make things a lot more pleasant.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Do we really need multiple strollers ? [qc] ->We had a vista v2 and it was way too heavy, got a bugaboo butterfly and never looked back, that thing is so easy to use and light as a feather.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->We live in a fairly dense urban area, we prefer smaller cars and we're one and done. We got a travel stroller (bugaboo butterfly) and called it a day.
r/BabyBumps • Do most people have and use both a regular stroller AND a travel stroller? ->I love our bugaboo butterfly! We usually travel with Air Canada and it has always fit in the overhead. I use it as our every day stroller now because it is so light! The canopy is very big if baby wants to nap and it also reclines almost all the way flat.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Best travel stroller [ab] ->Team Butterfly. Have travelled with it extensively and I treat all my gear like deep fried trash and it’s practically brand new looking. Only beef is that it is still slightly reclined when fully upright.
r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz aer+ vs bugaboo butterfly ->Bugaboo fox or Thule. For travel definitely bugaboo butterfly
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->Uppababy Cruz and Vista are really smooth rides that can handle a variety of terrain and the strollers are quite durable. Nuna IME is not a smooth ride at all and has a low backboard so they can't fit children as tall as the Uppababies can. Depending on the walking you are doing, I like the Joolz Aer+ to keep in my car when we go places. We used the Uppababy exclusively the first 6 months and now use the Uppababy for neighborhood walks/going to the park and longer excursions, and the Joolz for day to day, in and out of the car stuff. Uppababy also has a HUGE basket. Oh I've just seen will be going on buses/subway. Get something like the Joolz Aer+, Yoyo, Bugaboo Butterfly. They are compact travel strollers that are good. Not as smooth of a ride as the Uppababy, alas, but they're all excellent. Joolz and Bugaboo are one hand folds which was important to me when choosing. Joolz has the larger basket but it's very much not grocery shopping sized. Many people love the Yoyo and it's the smallest but it felt dinky to me.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->Agreed on the head and neck control being more important than size. I had a very very tiny baby.. he was a 2.9lb preemie. We have the bugaboo butterfly. I had him in the stroller forward facing at 5 months old. Looking back at photos he was so ridiculously small but his head / neck control was great and I didn’t want him in the car seat attachment for long stroller rides. I had a friend who had a full term and much bigger baby. She had the yoyo and kept her son in the bassinet recliner side for much longer but her son had very weak head control at 6 months.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller for a small 6 month old recommendation? ->We have the bugaboo butterfly as our main stroller with the Nuna car seat. I’m really glad we didn’t go with a bulky stroller. I’m petite and live in a small apartment. It’s so easy to get in an out of the car and we travel alot. We liked the kick stand, it had a bigger basket than most in this category and the longest pull down for shade coverage. We did opt for a doona for the first 18 months for travel but now my son is almost two and we bring this stroller. If you fly a lot.. it’s worth it. We got ours 2nd hand and used it just for travel. The downsides - the wheels are good for everyday but have trouble rolling over train tracks and really bumpy areas. I also wished I had a bassinet style / lay down feature in the early days and the ability to reverse towards you which the yoyo zen is better for. In the beginning, I used the car seats for shorter walks and but moved to upright sitting reallly early.. probably earlier than most babies. We also mostly did baby wearing in the beginning. The basket is smaller than regular strollers so you can’t pack the world in there but it fits enough.
r/Buyingforbaby • Any parents using a Travel stroller for everyday use? ->You sound just like me! I am very petite and like to travel light. We live in a small apartment and travel a lot. I went to a stroller store to test everything out and the sales person convinced me I would have a hard time with a big stroller like the uppababy and we have been really happy with the bugaboo as our only stroller. I appreciate how easy it is to get in and out of the car and collapse. The downside is I can’t fit every last thing ever in it and the wheels are smaller so it’s not great for really bumpy sidewalks. I mostly carried my baby until he was about 5 months but if I didn’t he needed to be in the car seat. I turned him around without the car seat relatively early. The reason I went with the butterfly is because it had a bigger basket, longer shade and a kickstand. What I liked about the yoyo was the ability to have him lay down and face me. I don’t think you can go wrong with either!! What I do recommend is getting a stroller bag for the handle bar which gives you some extra room and a cup holder.
r/Buyingforbaby • Yoyo 3 stroller as the only stroller? ->You sound just like me! I am very petite and like to travel light. We live in a small apartment and travel a lot. r/Buyingforbaby • Yoyo 3 stroller as the only stroller? ->Bugaboo Butterfly! Hands down. We bought two of these for our twins and LOVE them. Took them on a 5 week trip to Italy & these things were absolute beasts. Now we use them at home really frequently. The one handed fold / unfold & large basket is unparalleled in my opinion.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel Stroller Recommendations [ON] ->I have the bugaboo butterfly and love it! My husband was on the fence because of the price but we travel a lot and he was impressed. It's so easy to maneuver in small spaces and it fits under tables in restaurants. The only gripe I have is that the upright position is too reclined My kid is getting older and likes to sit more upright. I'm looking into getting a small foam wedge to help him sit more upright.
r/beyondthebump • Travel Strollers - It Finally Happened ->I have the Bugaboo butterfly and love it. It's a travel stroller, so it folds down to carry-on size. I can open and close it one-handed. We got it from Pottery Barn, so if there's one in the city, you may be able to try it out in person. It's our only stroller, and has held up very well in the 3 months of our baby's life. Rides well on grass, sidewalks, and cobblestone, and we've taken it on the train easily (the T, in Boston. )
r/firsttimemom • which stroller is the lightest/easiest to carry around? ->I don’t have those, but the babyzen yoyo is really similar to the bugaboo butterfly, which I do own. It reclines pretty flat. I couldn’t use it with my baby until she was 5 months old. It just won’t work to put a newborn in the seat, they’re just too small and scrunched. Maybe a travel stroller will work with an infant bucket seat with adaptors?
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller from birth ->I own too many strollers. I have the Evenflo Dualride Shyft, bugaboo butterfly, Uppababy Cruz, and Austlen Entourage. I pretty much only like using the Cruz. The Dualride was super convenient when she was lighter and smaller. We could take just the bucket inside and leave the wheels in the car. But it couldn’t really handle anything but smooth pavement or inside flooring. Even a brand new sidewalk crack or a pebble sent it rocking. The butterfly is what I’d take if we flew, but it also struggles on sidewalk cracks that aren’t perfect or a small divot. It also tips back if you try to hang any diaper bag on the handles and the basket is small. It also reclines more than we like now that she’s able to sit up. It sits in our car for if we are out and about and need a stroller. We also have a sling carrier, and if we were going over any real terrain, I’d reach for the carrier hands down. The Entourage was the stroller I got first thinking I’d want one that could convert to a double if I had another kid. That’s the only double stroller I’d want because it folds up with two seats, you don’t have to remove a seat like most others. But it is huge and weighs a ton. I like it plenty as long as I keep it open and ready to go, except that it *also* reclines too much. She wants to sit up and see the world. I am keeping it in case we do end up having another kid So we use the Cruz the most. It sits super upright. It has decent suspension (we got a used 2019 V1). I don’t like the folding mechanism but we leave it open and ready for our morning walk.
r/Buyingforbaby • Overwhelmed with stroller options! ->Bugaboo butterfly or Joolz Aer+. Personally we got the Joolz Aer+ international version as it has a flat recline. Used it for 3 months in Europe and was fantastic! Both are quite cheap retailing at around $600-700 depending on how much discount you get.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best carry on travel pram ->We also love our Butterfly. Thank you for sharing your experience with travelling on Jetstar with it!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • My experience with the Bugaboo Butterfly pram on Jetstar ->We hired the butterfly last year from Baboodle for a holiday to Toronto. We had to transit through Heathrow so wanted a pram we could take on board and keep with us from Manchester. We loved it! Super easy to put up and down and steered pretty well. We did get asked if it was the YoYo but I just said it has the same dimensions in case anyone challenged me on size.
r/UKParenting • Travel Stroller - Best Options / Real World Experiences? ->We hired the Bugaboo butterfly last year from Baboodle. It was about £60 to hire for the month but I think for some of the other prams you could hire for a shorter time. We really liked the butterfly
r/UKParenting • Best travel pushchair cabin approved? ->First time we went abroad we borrowed a cheap one and it was rubbish, my son hated it and I ended up carrying him in a carrier everywhere. We’ve subsequently used the buggy his grandparents have which has worked well. We also hired one from Baboodle for a trip to Canada. It was great - a brand new bugaboo butterfly - could come onboard, easy to fold, decent basket size and reclined well
r/UKParenting • Do I need a travel stroller, or will I be okay with my normal pram? ->We hired a bugaboo butterfly from Baboodle when we went to Canada with a transfer at Heathrow. Thoroughly recommend both Baboodle and the Butterfly. Think it was about £60 for a month. They do also have the YOYO and Joolz which you can hire for a shorter time. The stroller was brand new, delivery and return process was super easy!
r/UKParenting • Best cabin approved pushchair? ->I love my bugaboo butterfly, but it was pricey and I don't think it has a snack tray. My coworker loves his ergo baby metro. Both fit 2+yo toddler boys
r/toddlers • Travel stroller!! ->Bugaboo butterfly - wouldn’t dream of making it my primary stroller, but it’s tiny when folded so a huge plus when on planes or when sitting in a car boot next to giant suitcases
r/daddit • Hey dad, what kind of travel stroller do you use? ->I’m not sure if they’ve improved the folding mechanism between the 2 and 3, but the yoyo 2 is the biggest pain in the ass to fold. We travel a ton so we thought we wanted the yoyo, but the bugaboo butterfly and joolz aer+ were both so much easier. 1-button/hand close and very light!
r/Buyingforbaby • Yoyo 3 stroller as the only stroller? ->I very recently made this exact decision! They both seem like really nice strollers but I heard more from people who loved their butterfly. I like that the butterfly accommodates taller kids because I have a tall one year old. It also rubbed me the wrong way that you have to buy the footrest separately for the joolz aer+. I ended up finding a butterfly on Facebook marketplace for a good deal and I love it! I wish it could sit up a bit more (it’s still very slightly reclined when it’s all the way up) but it doesn’t seem to bother my toddler
r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz aer+ vs bugaboo butterfly ->I stalked Facebook marketplace for mine and love what I ended up with. Uppababy vista for neighborhood walks and walking to the grocery store, bugaboo butterfly to take with us when we go places or travel because the vista is kind of a tank, and a doona trike for short neighborhood walks
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->We have the butterfly and fox. I’d recommend taking it back, it’s great for travel (we have family abroad) but the wheels don’t cut it regularly for the city or at all in the countryside. Great for folding up in small coffee shops though!
r/NewParents • Bought Bugaboo Butterfly by mistake ->I have two strollers. The Graco modes travel system. Which worked well because it included the infant car seat for when he was a tiny baby. The undercarriage is also huge, so I use that for shopping. It’s also very durable. It was a gift, not my choice stroller, but has worked well for our needs. I keep that one in my car. We also got the Bugaboo butterfly for travel. I love it! We just used it for our first trip and it fit well in the overhead compartment of the airplane. My husband keeps this one at home or in his car. He works from home so he has the baby while I’m at work. Having two strollers seems like the way to go
r/Buyingforbaby • 2 Strollers?! ->Unfortunately there aren't going to be much that tick all the boxes of cheap, compact fold, sturdy for winter, lightweight, AND possibility of double. I actually ended up with 3 strollers (which I know is excessive). Bugaboo Butterfly (lightweight, compact, fits in my trunk, easy to push, easy to take in and out, great fast fold). Uppababy Cruz (everyday stroller, reversible, infant snugseat was great, but relatively heavy, cumbersome to lift and get in trunk, horrible in snow). And for this winter, the Thule Urban Glide 3 (huge, heavy, big wheels, *hopefully* easier to deal with on rougher terrain and in the winter). I was going to suggest the Veer Switchback system because it is one of the only jogging strollers I have seen that has a reversible seat. But it's mighty $$$. Honestly, I'd go into the store, try some out, and then find something used on FB Marketplace. You might be able to score a good deal on a Vista V2 because the V3 just came out.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Mid-Range Travel System Suggestions? [on] ->We replaced the minu which I hated with the bugaboo whatever small travel sized one is and love that. $140 for a playmat is wild. I think we had a $20 wal mart one. Agree with Chico car seat and now the cosco one. I forget the model but inexpensive
r/NewParents • Product Regrets: 3mos in! ->I’d actually recommend the open box bugaboo if you can fit it in your budget. I held off on it and bought a cheaper option thinking $400 for a travel pram was absurd but ended up buying the bugaboo when my other one broke. I use it almost every day the fold is fantastic the wheels/ drive is fantastic — one of my favorite purchases. If I could go back in time I’d just buy the butterfly and not have a full sized pram.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Any travel strollers strollers that do not contain harmful material and do not break the bank ? ->Once you get into the price range and brands you're looking at they're all very much the same. At that point it comes down to personal choice/fashion choice. I have the bugaboo :)
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller Choice is Overwhelming - would LOVE some guidance on a FTM stroller for urban areas [qc] ->We were given a hand-me-down (baby jogger) which is very appreciated. However if money was no issue, I would have gone bugaboo. The user design is just so good. And one hand folding/unfolding action is just so nice. When it’s a stroller and folded it also doesn’t take up much space which was key for us in the city.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • BEST STROLLER/BASSINET/CARSEAT COMBO FOR 1st TIME MOM IN TORONTO? [on] ->just spent a month researching. my takeaway: Nuna - loved this one the most (mixx or trvl xl) but all of the carseats/accesories make it extra pricey. my fav uber premium option uppababy- i found these all to be kind of rigid and too large. didn't like the vibe but its obvs popular mockingbird - decided on this one and so far love the balance of quality and price point. truly feels strong but also premium, while not being huge, and almost all the features feel obvious instead of buried silver cross - if you really want to go with the most premium it is indeed very nice. graco Modes nest - solid budget option. felt a little on the light/fragile side for me but if lightweight with versatility is important, this one isn't bad at all bugaboo - maybe the one i tried was a janky floor model but i didn't think it was smooth at all. nuna/mock crushed it
r/beyondthebump • Best stroller/travel system ->I just bought the Minu v3 today!! The local baby store had literally just gotten it in. We currently have the Nuna triv and wanted a travel stroller to keep in the car. I brought my 13 mo son and tried out the bugaboo, joolz and the minu V3. The minu was the best one out of all three. Easiest to fold up, has a flap on top to be able to see down to the baby, and easiest capability to expand the seat up/down. it was super helpful testing them out right beside each other!
r/beyondthebump • Uppababy Minu v3 Travel Stroller ->Personally, I’d gate check both for ease of access/peace of mind. Most airlines (at least in the US) allow you to gate check one car seat and one stroller. The Doona is your car seat, and the Bugaboo is your stroller. You shouldn’t have any issues.
r/beyondthebump • Traveling with strollers ->We have 2 strollers and 2 carseats. We have the Uppa Baby Vista V3. We went to a stroller store before we bought it and the guy was directing all city parents to the Uppa Baby and all suburban parents to the Nuna. He was absolutely right. We lived in NYC and the Uppa Baby had these big wheels that could navigate terrible uneven sidewalks without launching the kid out. The Nuna is equally a high-cost brand, but it doesn't take terrain and abuse like the Uppa Baby. When we travel or as our kid got older, we bought the Bugaboo Travel Stroller. We liked it because it could fit in the overhead compartment, could open with one hand, and the canopy didn't bang against your hands as you pushed it (which the Nuna travel did and annoyed me). Both those strollers are compatible with the Nuna Pipa Lite carseat which is hands down the best carseat on the market. It's so lightweight and yet sturdy. Remember, your kid packs on lbs quickly, so even the Doona becomes a serious pain to lift in and out of your car. When he aged out of the Pipa we got the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim and it's been awesome. Toddlers are messy, so I'm glad we went with an affordable convertible car seat option instead of the Nuna or a similar expensive brand.
r/BabyBumps • How did you choose a stroller and car seat? ->Joolz Aer+ is 10/10. I spent hours researching different ones. Bugaboo was my runner up. Avoid the Nuna Trvl, I had it and returned it, it has a hole in the seat structure and a very low back, which became uncomfortable as my child got bigger. Grew out of it before even turning one.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Can anyone recommend a relatively safe/nontoxic travel stroller you like and is suitable for every day use? ->We went to an infant safety class after getting our Nuna Pipa and at the class we used more affordable seats. Truthfully, the difference in quality was shocking. After feeling the sturdiness of the Nuna, I was really surprised by how cheap the others felt and I was really glad to have spent the extra money on the Nuna. We also have a Bugaboo stroller (which Nuna is compatible with) and not only is it also insanely sturdy, the suspension is insane and I can’t think of a reason to need any other stroller. We got the Nuna at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and the Bugaboo “barely used” (came like new) from GoodBuyGear, and I’m super pleased with both and am confident they’ll last a long time if we have more kids in the future.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->Check out GoodBuyGear. I got my Bugaboo practically new for half price. You may have to watch it for a while to wait for what you’re looking for, but when you come across a gem it’s a game changer! I don’t think Nuna works with Chicco or Graco, I’d just get the matching seat to those travel systems if those are the strollers you want. Otherwise I do think Nuna works with Maxi Cosi adapters, so maybe one of their strollers?
r/Buyingforbaby • Any suggestions for cheaper strollers that would work with a Nuna Pipa Aire or RX car seat? ->When I first moved here I thought it was silly seeing so many Cadillac sized strollers with big wheels- seems contradictory. But then I realized its the cobbles stones, albeit not so wide spread in Berlin, I’ve now traveled with a stroller to Copenhagen, Prague and Lisbon and the bigger the wheels the better really or else they get stuck between stones. Thats why in Berlin and CPH buggaboos are so popular. Also, easywalkers, joolz and joie.
r/berlin • Good stroller for Berlin? ->Strollers are like cars and not everything will fit everyone's lifestyle needs or budgets. The stroller I currently have would not work for someone who lives in the city in a small apartment, someone who takes public transit a lot or has a small car. I found it easier to make a list of things i didn't need/want in a stroller as someone who lives in the suburbs to narrow it down. An anecdotal example from late 2019: We bought our infant seat at babies r us for an insane discount (paid $60 for a +$200 bucket seat) so I didn't need a travel system. I live in the suburbs and sometimes the sidewalks aren't shoveled very well in the winter so a light stroller with little wheels wasn't going to work for me. I wanted my kids to be close in age so I only looked at strollers that could turn into doubles; uppababy, bugaboo, peg perego, and city select. I didn't like the configuration from single to double for the uppababy or city select for their bassinet attachments and the peg perego was impossible to find so we got the bugaboo. I was also able to talk to a customer who would come into the store that I worked at who bought the bugaboo for her twins and she raved about it but the only thing she didn't like was how wide it was because it made mall shopping difficult. I don't go to malls and the stroller fits through a standard doorway so the width was never really an issue for me but I can't walk side by side on the sidewalk with another mom pushing a stroller beside me 😅. If I was having my first baby in 2025 with the information that I have now, I would pick cybex gazelle or bugaboo kangaroo.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller Stress - Any Recommendations [CA] ->Uppababy minu 3! I tried the bugaboo, Joolz are, metro and hands down prefer minu 3. Overhead compatible, sturdy, big basket and full recline.
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller ->Loved our Maxi Cosi bassinet and rocker chair. Equally loved our Chicco KeyFit 35 and the snap in stroller frame. Once I went back to work, I gave the seat and stroller frame to my MIL since she takes care of him during the day. I then got the Chicco Fit360 and Bugaboo travel stroller—love those! Product regrets: baby bath tub, Burt’s Bees baby towels and sheets, wipe warmer, Honest bath products, Munchkin swinging chair, and Baby Brezza bottle washer Product loves: Angel Care bath seat (super useful with having a preemie), softer baby sheets from some random brand from Marshall’s/TJ Maxx, Dr. Browns drying tower, Mama Bear diapers (Amazon brand), Pillow Fort toddler towels, diaper genie, Nanit (was gifted)
r/NewParents • Product Regrets: 3mos in! ->Whatever fits in the car works. 17 years ago, the hype was Bugaboo. My boss, at the time, bought us one as a baby shower gift. 17 years ago, it was the most expensive stroller you could buy $1200. Now, I checked, they go up to $2200. Sure, it was fancy. And those parents who knew, knew. But it was a hassle. It was large and you needed a SUV to haul it around. I guess, it was solidly built because it lasted 2 kids and you could convert into bassinet/regular. If I had to do it again, I'd take the slimmest, smallest stroller I could get.
r/Parenting • Stroller Wagons Worth the Hype? ->6 flights in the last 2 months …. AC never had an issue. I have a bugaboo and most of the time I get asked if it’s a yoyo because “those fit in the overhead” I just say yes lol The last flight I took was fully booked, the agent at check in told me I didn’t need a tag if it fit overhead. The agent at boarding looked at me and the stroller, asked where my tag was, told her it was going overhead. Then she asked another agent, if she wanted me to gate check or overhead and she said because I didn’t have any other carry on to bring it onboard. So my guess is it totally depends on the flight load, and the gate agents.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Do WJ/AC allow travel strollers in overhead compartments? [ca] ->Honestly check Facebook marketplace. We got the Bugaboo travel stroller for like 100 dollars.
r/Buyingforbaby • Affordable & easy travel stroller ->Bugaboo and Yoyo for us, both hand-me-downs from friends with older kids. Both brands have parts, so that helped a lot. Don't bother with a new pram, just get one from a friend and wash everything, maybe even buy new liners.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->I have a baby and I’d say 70% of all moms I know have a Bugaboo and that’s what I see the most in the inner city as well. Cybex Priam is another one. Uppababy is not very popular here
r/berlin • Good stroller for Berlin? ->The bugaboo is much better than the uppababy. Galt baby used to have a location in Lincoln park & they would let you “test drive” strollers on the bumpy sidewalks outside the store. It immediately became clear that Bugaboo’s product was far superior when it came to shocks/ensuring a smooth ride.
r/AskChicago • Parents of Chicago - what strollers do you swear by for walking these bumpy sidewalks ? ->bugaboo is by far the best.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • BEST STROLLER/BASSINET/CARSEAT COMBO FOR 1st TIME MOM IN TORONTO? [on] ->
