Cybex balios! It’s not terribly heavy or expensive but still on the heavier/more durable end. You can get a mostly flat recline so you don’t really need a bassinet for neighborhood walks unless you want one for your new newborn, and the included car seat options are great. The only negative is you need adapters to click the car seat in, vs the toddler seat but I just leave them in the trunk and it’s not a huge deal.
r/Mommit • stroller recommendations ->I highly recommend the Cybex Aton G and Cybex Balios. Anything Cybex honestly
r/BabyBumps • stroller + car seat recs? esp. Nuna or Doona - FTM feeling overwhelmed ->I have a Cybex Balios stroller and it's really one hand friendly. Even the buttons to push on each side to release the seat (to turn it around or take bassinet off to fold) are "memory buttons", so you can push one and then the other. The handlebar adjustment is one handed, fold is two steps but one hand. Highly recommend!
r/NewParents • One handed items?? ->Personally I would avoid anything cybex. https://youtu.be/IwwnewvzdrA?si=QqDj4IPeQOYYRvd5 I followed the stroller workshop on YouTube, and he is very much against the brand (I wish I had discovered him when I was pregnant with #1) When I was pregnant with my first, I initially wanted the Nuna Mixx, but went with the Cybex Balios - it was half the price, and the most similar. I was beyond disappointed. Everything he said about the stroller brand was true to my experience. The fold was horrible, and you could feel every weak point in the stroller. I eventually gave it away to a cousin. I will say, though, that it was still far better than a Gracco or Chicco stroller that some friends had. So either way, just my two cents. When I said by six months, I meant that at six months my kids were doing the teenage equivalent of saying “bye mom!” It was the 4-5mo range when their interest in the outside world really expanded, and they loved looking around the most. My daughter still liked to be worn in the carrier at that age, and I think it’s because she would be higher up and get to see things. My son wanted to be held (sadly he would bust out of the carriers) - if we tried putting him in the stroller, especially parent faced, he would start screaming until my husband would pick him up and hold him. He was almost able to sit independently at five months, and was running at 10 months. So depending on the personality of your baby, if they genuinely enjoy that face-to-face interaction, and it helps to keep them calm, then go for a parent facing option. For me, knowing that I want the smallest footprint to take up less room in either a hotel or in an already crowded house that I’d be staying at, the Butterfly would be the best bet. Also shooting for high-quality and the ability to resell, the butterfly also wins out of the options you presented. At the locations you are going, are there any family members there that might have a stroller you could borrow?
r/Buyingforbaby • The parent facing travel stroller issue ->I had the original Balios. If you look at the original one, he tears that thing a part. Just food for thought, because I was the same way - if your baby is a real miss independent (which mine were) - the parent facing will last sooooo short of a time. I remember trying EVERYTHING to get my son to stay in the bassinet of our Demi Grow - I freaking hunted that thing down on FB market place, because a true flat recline is best, at 2 months he should still be in a flat option, and by golly my tiny infant was going to nap in it like every other baby!! ….nope. He SCREAMED. I spent $250 for a stroller bassinet we used twice. He much preferred to be either held or I’d use the infant insert on the stroller seat, which he deemed somewhat acceptable. He’s near 3 now. He’ll sit in the stroller, but only when he’s tired or wants to play with his toys. How does your baby like things? What keeps the peace? Because when you are out and about, a screaming baby will lead to you throwing out your plans.
r/Buyingforbaby • The parent facing travel stroller issue ->We got the cybex balios 4 years ago, and have travelled with it to multiple European countries (we live in Europe too) & it is extremely good. Never any issue at all and our son sleeps like a rock as well (did not sleep well before the age of 1 but after that it has been amazing)
r/toddlers • Best Stroller for tall 2 year old for Europe/ cobblestone ->I have the TRVL lx and like it! I am finding it really convenient for quick trips like appts, taking public transport, going into stores, etc. I am both in an urban and suburban environment. It’s super lightweight, easy to use and maneuver, and fits in the trunk of our compact car. We have the pipa urbn car seat that pops right in. The only things to consider are it doesn’t have a parent facing option, is not compatible with a bassinet, and doesn’t fit in a plane overhead compartment. If I were to look again, I might consider the joolz aer because it’s a travel stroller but it has a bassinet attachment option and is overhead compartment compatible, though I haven’t tested it out in person. I originally was OK with just the TRVL but then realized I really wanted a stroller that has a bassinet attachment option. I ended up buying the cybex balios s lux with the bassinet attachment as well, and have been really enjoying it for outdoor walks. The bassinet has also come in handy as a place for the baby to sleep when we’re out. It’s full size but nowhere near as big as the vista which a lot of my friends have. I feel kind of crazy having two strollers but am happy that I will have options based on what activity we’re doing. The strollers on your list vary greatly so you might want to decide what is the best for your lifestyle. For example the TRVL is a small lightweight travel stroller and the gazelle is a full size stroller that can convert to a double.
