"We’ve used it in a variety of seasons (snow, sunny, etc) and on a variety of terrains. We even used it at the pumpkin patch, which was all dirt paths, somewhat uneven surface, and a bunch of hills. It works great."

"We’ve taken it on a variety of terrains- even to the pumpkin patch (all dirt). It does great on sidewalks and paths/trails."

"The base can hold 50 lbs in addition to the seat so we love it for random curbside scavenge pickups on the walk home from the park🤪"

"And the seat was defective. It never locked into place."
"They said that their regional Cybex rep had to approve the return/exchange but they could never get a hold of them. ... On a few occasions I was told she would be in on a certain day and to come in. So we would plan a whole weekend day with the toddler in tow to return it. Each time they weren’t there and the store couldn’t take it. ... Eventually I complained enough and said I’m not leaving the store with this defective item again and I’m not leaving without my money back. This was after 4 months since the day of purchase and they finally issued a refund. ... Found out later that it had been recalled. It was a nightmare."
If you will be traveling frequently in cabs or other people's cars, the Shyft is what you want. I live in NYC and I can't tell you how many times I drooled over Doonas and Shyfts while out and about. They are just so convenient. If you won't be in that position, get the Gazelle. It is a dream of a stroller. It's a workhorse but it feels weightless to handle, and it has some of the most versatile configuration options out there. And it has so many pretty colorways - not a reason to buy it, but a really nice bonus!
+1 on Cybex Gazelle
Test drives. I was set on an uppababy vista due to research then I tried the Cybex gazelle in a store and it was all over from there. Comparing the two made it no comparison.
I have the cybex gazelle and that stroller can handle everything! It’s a tank and we love it.
We love our Cybex e gazelle but it’s v heavy, wouldn’t want to be taking it in and out of the car every day. It’s also huge so hard to fit in some small shops and cafes round here. Our friends have the bugaboo and really like it. We also have a joolz aer for quick appointments/holidays and it’s amazing, so light. If it wasn’t for the lack of storage space, we’d probably use this as our full time pram.
We're really liking our Cybex Gazelle. One of the selling points was that both seats have the same weight limit.
I have the Cybex Gazelle and LOVE it although we only have a 12 week old right now. We have the Cloud G car seat which might be what your friend has bc it can recline in the stroller (you can also get a bassinet attachment but this negates the 2 hour rule) but don’t need to with the car seat. I haven’t used the actual seat with it, but I really like the way you can do multiple configurations. I find it really easy to fold up and throw in my trunk. It also feels really nice and sturdy. I almost got the Mockingbird but it felt flimsy to me. The Gazelle is like the Mockingbirds more sophisticated sister. That being said, I wouldn’t really call it a travel stroller. It’s big and sometimes I accidentally bump into things or have a little trouble navigating around like clothes racks. And it’s not cheap. But those are the only issues I have with it.
Babies can’t be in the car seat for more than 2 hours so if you plan to be out and about for a long period then a bassinet could be a good idea. But it reality you’ll have to take them out to feed and change frequently enough that they really shouldn’t end up hitting that 2 hour mark unless they’re napping. Also, I have the Cybex Gazelle stroller and the Cloud G car seat-which reclines enough to simulate a bassinet and negating the 2 hour rule
Agreed on Cybex Gazelle!
I first narrowed it down by deciding I wanted a travel system. Had to fit in my vehicle so that narrowed things a bit. Also decided I wanted a stroller that can be a double in the future. That really narrowed things down. We went to West Coast Kids and they showed us the options. Thought about it, researched, and went back another day to purchase. We got the Cybex Gazelle stroller and Aton 2 car seat.
We absolutely love the Cybex gazelle. Ended up buying the Cybex Callisto car seat (also love) for our post-infant seat car seat because we trust the Cybex brand so much! We are also going to have 2 under 2 and love that the second adapters are built in and that we can still use the undercarriage even with the two seats. 10/10 recommend.
Cybex gazelle s folds very small with both seats on it. Really easy to manoeuvre, sturdy enough for cobbles, etc.
