I got the evenflo shyft dualride, it's both infant carseat and stroller so i don't have to lug a stroller in the car the big thing for me was there's a lot more (and cheaper) stroller options once they're no longer an infant (~ 6 months) and so I didn't want to get tied down to the limited infant options
r/BabyBumps • Where to start with strollers and why is it so confusing! ->I have an evenflo dualshyft (doona) great for stores and doctors, very maneuverable. I didn't realize how she shouldn't be in car seat until shortly before birth, then decided I'd just baby wear on walks until she can sit up and use an umbrella stroller, I hate how bulky most stroller are. We have an uppababy with bassinet but it rarely leaves our house just neighborhood walks. I have seen other moms with the yoyo strollers and those look so nice and portable.
r/beyondthebump • Car seat + Stroller ->We are not tall people, but the Doona was way too short for myself (5’6”) and my husband (5’10”). We actually decided to go with the new Evenflo Shyft Dualride this go around since it’s our 3rd and we’re always on the move with the 2 older kids. The Evenflo Shyft is much taller and lighter than the Doona that we tested out. Before this baby, we rocked a Britax for our 1st and a Graco for our 2nd.
r/BabyBumps • Help me understand -- Is Donna worth it? ->We got the Evenflo Dualride Shyft new (thanks to an Amazon sale earlier this year, we got it for $300), which is a combo car seat/stroller and a Doona dupe. My cousin with 2 kids raved about it, so I went with that option figuring it would be our travel system for about a year. It was great for the newborn days when she was very light and all we had to do was pop her in the car seat, and then pop the wheels out for when we needed the stroller option. That was pretty much our primary stroller for the first 3 months since we are in the suburbs and have a car for most outings and trips. For just short walks, we just did baby wearing (Ergobaby Omni). Also for the first month or so I was so exhausted from delivery, sleep deprivation from staying up all night with the baby, and breastfeeding that I didn’t even want to leave the house, so a nicer stroller wasn’t needed. The Evenflo dualride works great as a travel system but not as an everyday stroller. At the 3 month mark, I started wanting to go on some longer walks, so I got a Mockingbird single to double stroller with an infant insert on Facebook marketplace for $100, which I use for neighborhood walks and to the grocery store. I then got a travel stroller for when she outgrows the Evenflo next year (baby is currently 4 months and she will no longer be able to fit in the Evenflo when she is 35 pounds). I ordered the Ingenuity 3D QuickClose stroller on Amazon for about $100 (it was on sale and I used a completion discountg. I haven’t used it on a trip yet but so far pleased with how easily it folds. I did do a bit of research into a travel stroller and I decided I would just go for a cheaper option in case it breaks during travel/gate check. I probably should have tried to get an Uppababy Minu on marketplace, but the nice ones were hard to come by or sold very quickly. We weren’t exactly on a strict budget, but I couldn’t stomach the idea of spending too much money on strollers. I am glad we started with the Evenflo, which worked great for the newborn days, and then had time to figure out what stroller features I really wanted. I would also highly recommend Facebook marketplace for strollers; so many are in good shape and if you end up not liking a stroller at least it’s not too much of a sunk cost.
r/NewParents • Stroller Recs ->I was between the Uppababy Vista v3, Nuna Demi Next, and Silver Cross Wave 3. There are no stores anywhere around me with the Silver Cross Wave 3. At Nordstrom’s we were able to compare the Vista and Demi Next and we both preferred the Vista. It felt lighter and smoother. The bassinet for the Vista also seemed lighter and more compact (not in a bad way, we liked it better) and seemed to have more features. It’s also much cheaper than the Nuna bassinet. We’re hoping to have two fairly close in age so how it works as a double was important to us. All the reviews I read said the maneuverability of the Demi Next is better with two because the weight is more centered BUT it’s at the cost of the basket underneath and the kid in the back can’t see anything. We ultimately went with the Silver Cross Wave 3 sight unseen. It seems huge but it’s very nice and seems smooth. It came with everything we would need for two and it’s one of two strollers that will allow the bassinet on top parent facing with a bigger kid at the front world facing. I’m not due until July so I haven’t used it outside of our living room. Our main use for a stroller is going to be walks around the neighborhood with our dogs so we wanted something with a bassinet we could use immediately. We plan to just keep it in the garage so size doesn’t really matter. It will fit in our car and be cumbersome if necessary but we don’t plan on doing that much. We also bought the Evenflo Shyft Dualride. It’s like the Doona but it came out after and reviews indicate it’s an improvement on some of the Doona complaints. The handle is a bit higher too. My husband is 6’6” and he agrees it’s low but still useable. It also has higher safety ratings than the Doona. I’m in the US but the Doona isn’t approved for use in Canada but the Shyft is and when I was looking into the Doona I was hesitant because of the safety ratings. So our plan is to use the Shyft for quick errands and doctors appointments until she outgrows it. We’re also likely going to buy the Uppababy Minu v3 to keep in the car for longer errands. It’s rated safe for infants so we don’t need a separate bassinet or a car seat that clicks in. Everyone I know has the Vista. I know one person with the Demi Next. We’re the only ones with the Wave 3. We’re all happy with our strollers so I would suggest just that when you do make a decision don’t second guess yourself.
r/BabyBumps • Stuck between Nuna and Uppababy ->We bought the Evenflo Shyft Dual Ride which, I believe, is Donna’s sole competitor on the market and we love it. It also has the ability to detach the wheels from the car seat which is helpful for carrying the baby to and from the car. It’s also cheaper than the Doona and you can regularly find it on sale. Have been using for 5 weeks now and have no regrets.
r/NewParents • Has anyone tried the Doona car seat/stroller? Is it really worth the hype? ->I have an uppababy vista v2, it came with a bassinet & stroller. I also have the car seat that can also lock into the stroller base! It was pricey but I honestly love it. The bottom has lots of space & it moves smoothly. My husband has the evenflo dualshyft - we use this one for quick trips and travel. It’s a car seat with (detachable) wheels that fold out from the bottom. These have worked pretty great for us!
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->I am shocked nobody has suggested OP look at the Evenflo shyft dualride. It is what we have and when compared to my friends Doona I think it is a way better alternative. The handle extends way higher and most importantly the base separates from the wheels which makes it lighter than the doona. We use it every day and love it. Can’t recommend it enough.
r/NewParents • Has anyone tried the Doona car seat/stroller? Is it really worth the hype? ->Check out the Evenflo dual ride. The handle goes taller and the wheels come off which makes it way lighter than the Doona when you need it to be. We absolutely love it.
r/BabyBumps • Stuck between Nuna and Uppababy ->Also check out the Evenflo Shyft Duelride. That’s what I use and it’s been great. Going on a trip in a few months and planning to take it on the plane, so can’t comment on that part yet but hopefully it works out!
r/NewParents • Has anyone tried the Doona car seat/stroller? Is it really worth the hype? ->I own too many strollers. I have the Evenflo Dualride Shyft, bugaboo butterfly, Uppababy Cruz, and Austlen Entourage. I pretty much only like using the Cruz. The Dualride was super convenient when she was lighter and smaller. We could take just the bucket inside and leave the wheels in the car. But it couldn’t really handle anything but smooth pavement or inside flooring. Even a brand new sidewalk crack or a pebble sent it rocking. The butterfly is what I’d take if we flew, but it also struggles on sidewalk cracks that aren’t perfect or a small divot. It also tips back if you try to hang any diaper bag on the handles and the basket is small. It also reclines more than we like now that she’s able to sit up. It sits in our car for if we are out and about and need a stroller. We also have a sling carrier, and if we were going over any real terrain, I’d reach for the carrier hands down. The Entourage was the stroller I got first thinking I’d want one that could convert to a double if I had another kid. That’s the only double stroller I’d want because it folds up with two seats, you don’t have to remove a seat like most others. But it is huge and weighs a ton. I like it plenty as long as I keep it open and ready to go, except that it *also* reclines too much. She wants to sit up and see the world. I am keeping it in case we do end up having another kid So we use the Cruz the most. It sits super upright. It has decent suspension (we got a used 2019 V1). I don’t like the folding mechanism but we leave it open and ready for our morning walk.
r/Buyingforbaby • Overwhelmed with stroller options! ->If you will be traveling frequently in cabs or other people's cars, the Shyft is what you want. I live in NYC and I can't tell you how many times I drooled over Doonas and Shyfts while out and about. They are just so convenient. If you won't be in that position, get the Gazelle. It is a dream of a stroller. It's a workhorse but it feels weightless to handle, and it has some of the most versatile configuration options out there. And it has so many pretty colorways - not a reason to buy it, but a really nice bonus!
r/NewParents • Our first baby is due early 2026. Which of the following shortlisted strollers should we go for? ->I love love love the Evenflo Shyft. The convenience is amazing. My baby is 6 months now and I'm dreading the day he outgrows it because I love it so much.
r/NewParents • Our first baby is due early 2026. Which of the following shortlisted strollers should we go for? ->You can install both the doona and the evenflo shyft (I personally think this design is better but to each their own) using just a seat belt for travel without the base.
r/BabyBumps • Stroller car seat for travelling ->I would not put much thought into the stroller and more into the safety of the car seat. Honestly mostly all strollers do the same thing. I went with the stroller that had the safest car seat attachment Once they were about 12 months old, I retired the original stroller to one that was much smaller and compatible 3. I had a version of the Evenflo
r/NewParents • Our first baby is due early 2026. Which of the following shortlisted strollers should we go for? ->I have the Evenflo Shyft. The downside to it is you must be diligent about resetting. I make sure I hear both clicks and check every. single. time. It is heavy, and post partum it was hard to lift. Now, I carry a 20lb baby all day, I can throw the carseat into my high suv with ease. The upside is it is fabulous to run and errand and not have to unstrap and move a cranky 8 month old into a stroller or carry my determined escape who constantly wants down. I would purchase it again. My husband has the pippa nuna light something. I do like it alot. It is well made and very nice. If I were going to carry my infant instead of strolling in the dualride, the light weight is worth the extra $$ for sure. I also have a $90 11lb travel stroller- amazing, fits under the seat or pink tags with no worries of breaking. I also have a delta children's jogging stroller. I thought it was so ridiculous when my husband registered for it, but I love it. It is so comfortable. Baby and I walk trails, parks, gravel roads, the yard and because of the giant rubber wheels and shocks he is always comfortable and we never get stuck. I am in the process of buying the next step up in carseat, but we have a long way before needed. When we travel we a safety 1st all stages we take with us.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->The evenflo shyft travel system !! 500$ and its great. Comes with the car seat and stroller with all the attachments. And the car seat swivels so its way easier to get baby in and out
r/BabyBumps • Overwhelmed by stroller options ->I don’t have the doona but I have the evenflo shyft. The evenflo is a bit taller, so it worked better for me and my husband. That being said, it can be very heavy. The wheels/base add a lot of extra weight and you feel it more as your baby grows. That being said, I can manage it pretty well. My daughter is 7.5 months old and weighs about 20 pounds now and I can still get the stroller in and out of the car without much difficulty. For what it is, I like the stroller. It’s been a good help for travel (I did a cross country flight with it when my daughter was 5 months old and it was great for getting her around the airport). I also like using it for quick errands and sometimes it comes in handy for situations where ramps aren’t available. These things are really pricey if you ask me though, and I can definitely see the weight as a potential problem for other users.
r/NewParents • Has anyone tried the Doona car seat/stroller? Is it really worth the hype? ->We got the Evenflo Shyft as well and love that it’s taller. And you can take the wheels off and pop the car seat into another stroller (with an adapter) if desired
