"we still use the bassinet attachment for day-long events (grad parties, weddings, picnics, etc.) because it makes diaper changes and naps so much easier."
"But since it converts into the toddler chair, it wasn’t a waste."
"bassinet that turns into a toddler seat"

"I actually did my first sit down in a coffee shop and enjoy an ice cream while she sleeps in the car seat-stroller (transferred and didn’t wake up) ever two weekends ago- it was bliss!!"
"But the infant bucket seat can be attached directly onto the stroller, which is so nice if baby fell asleep in the car seat and you need the stroller."
"I like that it has the pram mode for infants and that the car seat can click into it, but then it also can be used as a normal stroller"

"We went with the Graco pramette - cost us only $250 and has all the basics we needed (bassinet, car seat, toddler seat). ... If I eventually feel like I need to change to a different stroller, I’m not going to be mad at myself bc we only spent $250 on this first one. Much better than sinking $1k+ into a stroller!"
"I got the stroller, the infant bucket seat, and the car base for under 300 bucks."
"I regret getting rid of my Graco Modes because it was not only cheaper, but way more light weight than the bougie brands."

"Im 4'9 so being super small, it was important that I could easily lift the stroller into my suv too and I'm able to with ease."
"It’s a super light jogging stroller than you can open, close, and handle with one hand."
"Fits in my small ass trunk, and doesn’t take up the entire space either."

"My only serious complaint is that it takes up almost all of the trunk space in my subcompact car."
"The only real issue we had was the size of the stroller. It took up the entire tree trunk of my wifes SUV (albeit a smaller one)."

"I’ll share that I have the Graco Modes Pramette stroller, which advertises itself as a one hand stroller fold. I’ve truly never been able to collapse it without using a second hand to stabilize, and I certainly need both hands to unfold."
Graco Modes Trio Travel System - $200 Has car seat with base, bassinet that turns into a toddler seat. It has a faux leather handle and good underneath storage. drives super smooth and the stroller part folds up super easy.
Mines walking, but we still use our stroller daily. We have a Graco Modes pramette and a Graco ready2jet. The modes one is nicer, good for long walks and park outings, etc. The ready2jet is good for flying (it fits in Delta and American airlines overhead bins!) and just quick errands, cause it fits in the car better. If you have a big car, then a double would probably be a good idea, but if space in a limited commodity in your car, I'd hold off getting something giant until you need it. Plus strollers have a limited lifespan, I know my best friend had to replace theirs between #2 and #3, just cause the frame was giving out from the beatings #1 and #2 subjected that poor stroller to.
We have the Graco Modes pramette stroller and it’s served us well. The base also fit her infant car seat and we used that combo quite often while running errands when she still fit in it. Now that she’s bigger and sizes up to a bigger car seat, I also have a Kolcraft Cloud Sport stroller to keep in the trunk because it’s easier to open quickly and takes up less space.
My diaper bag came from Amazon. Some non-brand. I’ve seen it on just about every mom at the zoo, so it’s quite popular. I think it was ~$25. My bucket car seat is the Graco snugride snug fit 35 dlx. Using it on my second kid now with no complaints. It will also fit into the attachment on Graco strollers. I think it was around $130. My convertible car seat that they switch into when I get tired of carrying them in the bucket seat is the Graco slim fit 3in1. It was just under $200. My stroller for my first baby was the Graco modes pramette stroller. I think it was around $200 but it was a gift so not sure. Now that we have our second baby we have a Graco ready2grow Lx 2.0. It was on clearance for $170. Bucket car seat will also fit into it like the single stroller. As you can tell, we are loyal to Graco baby stuff.
So part of the problem is wanting a stroller that can add an extra seat AND is lightweight. Unfortunately, strollers that “grow” with the family are bigger and bulkier bc they eventually need to be able to sustain two kids. For me, we decided that lightweight and small was more of a priority. We cant guarantee that we’ll have another kid within the next couple years (you never know!), we might not be stroller people, the kids might not like riding in a stroller, who knows. Otherwise we had the same wish list as you. We went with the Graco pramette - cost us only $250 and has all the basics we needed (bassinet, car seat, toddler seat). If I eventually feel like I need to change to a different stroller, I’m not going to be mad at myself bc we only spent $250 on this first one. Much better than sinking $1k+ into a stroller! A rotating car seat is nice but they are not always compatible with travel systems. Our kid’s next car seat will be rotating, but this infant one is not.
That’s weird, when I flew with air Canada when my daughter was 4 months, we gate checked the car seat and stroller (graco modes pramette). I bought a padded bag for the car seat (cause you don’t know how they’ll handle it) I didn’t know this before that trip, it’s actually recommended to take the car seat on the plane and buy a seat for your under two, cause any type of hidden damage can happen with baggage handlers. If you think about what the manufacturers recommend replacing car seats, even in very minor accidents like when someone dings you in the parking lot. I had to buy a new infant car seat, when I was rear ended, even though the car seat and child weren’t in the car, just the base. There’s a Canadian FB group called SEATs for kids discussion group that have certified CPST that can answer all questions regarding car seats safety.
First time mom. We got the Graco modes Pramette. I like that it has the pram mode for infants and that the car seat can click into it, but then it also can be used as a normal stroller
I’ll share that I have the Graco Modes Pramette stroller, which advertises itself as a one hand stroller fold. I’ve truly never been able to collapse it without using a second hand to stabilize, and I certainly need both hands to unfold. Though perhaps others have been able to? Just sharing my experience so far!
That’s what we have. I really like it. My husband and I are both tall and it doesn’t feel like we’re hunched over on the handle or getting the car seat clicked in.
Hey, I too got the Graco 3-1! Confused my husband a lot to figure out what to use for what age and how
