"My favorite part is the stroller can be folded without removing the snack tray or parent console. ... We just keep all our stuff inside a bag in the storage basket. Grab that out and fold. No removing everything and reattaching every dang time."

"It's definitely the most compact jogging stroller (though it's not actually a compact stroller if you get what I mean). ... What makes it even better is that it stands on its own and pretty securely so. ... Not only was it still very large but you had to take off the wheels ... Who wants to do that every time and who wants to store such a beast? ... The Guava Roam kind of looks like a miracle solution given it’s the most compact and has some offroad capability. ... I don’t think there is any other offroad stroller on the market that is more compact (both folded and unfolded) than the Guava?"

"it folds up easily and doesn't take up much room in our hallway ... It's also easy and small enough to fold up when we're at a cafe or restaurant etc, it takes up about as much room as a large suitcase. ... We've also traveled with it."

"There's one feature I didn't think much of but really came to appreciate: the dial on the handle to lock and unlock the front wheel. ... I didn't think I would use it when I bought it but I do all the time. ... With other strollers you'd have to engage the brakes, walk to the front, do the thing, and then reverse. ... On the roam you can do it while you're walking - super handy."

"It doesn't get the A+ because of the weight, it's not a lightweight stroller (no jogging stroller is). ... Don't underestimate the weight though. I also said it's not the most important thing but as you're lifting it into and out of the car its significance suddenly increases 😉."

"Due to it's weight I would not call it a great travel system."

Maybe the guava roam? Folds up nicely intact and has good suspension for different terrains. We traded our uppababy for it and no regrets. Our kiddo is 19m and 25lbs, for reference.

Guava roam and babyzen yoyo (now stokke) are what we did and I’m happy with the combo. If we have another maybe we will eventually get a wagon but I couldn’t recommend the roam more!!

We have a babyzen yoyo2 and guava roam and they fit our needs nicely. They both fold pretty compact but the babyzen takes up almost no space so I’m happy having that as a travel option especially.

I was very similar to you and ended up with a Guava jogger+car seat attachment & the infant seat we went with was the Gracco Snugfit Snugride 35 & we just have multiple bases for our different cars. Originally I had a cheaper stroller that was car seat compatible but I didn’t like taking it for walks because it was creeky the moment you hit any bumpy terrain and don’t even get me started about my attempt taking it down some flat dirt trails. Ultimately I decided I wanted to go with something incredibly stable for my off road ventures because I knew that would give me peace of mind and translate well to all other surfaces as well. I’m SO happy with my Guava Roam and I love how I get to hike with my baby!

You can buy a stroller frame that's essentially a car seat holder on wheels for very cheap. There are lots of options.  For myself, I love the Guava stroller for easy travel and slightly more amenities. It comes with a car seat adapter for newborns. Honestly don't bother with the bassinet.

I had the exact same mindset as you and I have a Guava Roam as my only stroller! I use it daily with my 3 month old with the Chico car seat attachment. It’s the most compact of the major jogging strollers. It’s easy to fold up and doesn’t take up that much space. It fits in the trunk of my Subaru crosstrek, and I’ve heard other jogging strollers don’t fit in the back of smaller suvs without putting the seats down. The wheels are rubber so they can’t deflate. Recently we had a huge snowstorm and I was able to push it through some pretty thick slush and snow/mud when I needed too. I haven’t jogged with it yet but another feature I’ve heard people like is being able to lock the front wheel from the handlebar, which is important for jogging on rocky or uneven ground.

I really like the Guava Roam that we got. Airless tires, shocks, easy fold up, can go on trails, durable.

We had a cheap gracias one and I hated it wheels would get stuck all the time it was very frustrating. If you’re looking into higher end I bought the “guava roam” and love this thing. He’s almost 4 and I still stick him in there when I get the chance.

This is the one I wish I would have gotten. I got the guava roam with a car seat adapter. I love it now, but it sucked when I wanted to go on longer stroller walks but didnt want to leave my newborn in the carseat for too long.

Existing backpack until you know what you want out of a diaper bag. Chicco carseat Consistently great consumer report and safety ratings, great materials, great comfort, multiple 360 options (i don't have a 360 one so I can't speak to that but I have their keyfit 35 and just ordered a onefit max). I can say that unless you live in a spot with horrendous sidewalks, tons of gravel, are an intense runner, or plan to do lots of off roading with a stroller, the guava roam is unnecessary. I still love it, our sidewalks and roads are super crappy and i like beingnot on pavenmemt and its sooooo easy to maneuver, but I would have gotten a stroller with a bassinet attachment or full lay flat option if I could do it over again. Bassinet attachment would have saved my sanity in the first several months. I couldn't go on longer stroller walks because I didnt want my newborn in her carseat (with attachment for stroller) for too long. Serious cabin fever for a bit.

I'm a simp for our guava roam. Lighter weight, one hand fold, suspension, airless tires, 3 wheels. We live in an older neighborhood with rough sidewalks and also like to do gravel trails. It is perfect. Before 6 months, we put the baby carrier on it with an adapter and it handled our rough winter terrain just fine. I've also starter running with it and it's perfect.  Pricey but I got ours secondhand. Honestly, it often gets used multiple times a day and I would replace it at full price if I had to. My goal when I picked it was to remove barriers to getting myself out of the house and it definitely does.

I wonder if a Guava Roam can fit in your trunk, because the Uppababy Cruz didn’t fit nicely in our Mach E (it would go in horizontally but not vertically and I didn’t like that I couldn’t put groceries side by side with the stroller). They have a 60 day return policy, so you could order it and test it out!  It’s not the lightest stroller cause it’s a jogging one, but it handled cracks on the sidewalk and a bit of snow well here in Seattle

We love the Guava Roam. It’s our everyday stroller. Had it for over a year and have no regrets!! Love that it folds up easily in our hall closet. We use a lighter stroller for travel / the car.

The Guava doesn't have Hard Rubber tires, it has foam filled tires, they are quite soft and it has the best suspension of the three BY FAR Source - I rent strollers for a living.

We did and we are glad about it. Our only stroller is the Guava Roam. I had the same predicament as you, not wanting to own three strollers. After a lot of research we settled on the guava roam as the _only_ stroller. When folded it’s actually smaller than most any regular stroller.  Its big wheels and suspension make a great smooth ride that is easy to push anywhere, even sand. They sell attachments for tons of car seats, so it work fine until the baby is big enough to jog with. Jogging with a stroller isn’t that difficult, and it’s fun to do with your child.  I almost got a Doona for a ski trip but ended up figuring out how to pack the guava in the car. No regrets, having the big wheels feels unstoppable. It’s never difficult to move this stroller. And for airline travel— it’s doesn’t matter how large the stroller is for gate check anyway. And again— it’s actually more compact than full size strollers. And it has a good storage area too. I recommend it,

We've used the Guava roam for 16 months now. We like it a lot. Our criteria were very similar to yours. We wanted something that can handle trails and is also compact enough for everyday use. We did not want to buy two strollers ... And we haven't. It's definitely the most compact jogging stroller (though it's not actually a compact stroller if you get what I mean). What makes it even better is that it stands on its own and pretty securely so. We folded up/disassembled either a bob or a Thule in a store and we were immediately like "nope, that's ridiculous". Not only was it still very large but you had to take off the wheels ... Who wants to do that every time and who wants to store such a beast? However, something like a Thule spring was more compact than the roam obviously (we really liked the spring too). The folding is actually easy, I'd rate it A-. It looks clumsy on the video but after you've done it a few times you do it on auto pilot. It doesn't get the A+ because of the weight, it's not a lightweight stroller (no jogging stroller is). There's one feature I didn't think much of but really came to appreciate: the dial on the handle to lock and unlock the front wheel. I didn't think I would use it when I bought it but I do all the time. With other strollers you'd have to engage the brakes, walk to the front, do the thing, and then reverse. On the roam you can do it while you're walking - super handy. Due to it's weight I would not call it a great travel system. BUT I think it's the only jogging stroller that CAN be used as travel system.  We're currently not hiking as much on trails as we thought we would, so sometimes I still think about how lightweight that Thule spring was 😆. But we're moving soon to an area with more trails so the roam may still get to truly shine. As far as hiking goes, the roam does fantastic on gravel or dirt roads and can handle getting over some obstacles (roots, rocks) fine but obviously there is a limit. Narrow and really rough trails get annoying quickly.  If you're expecting to go down some very steep and long inclines you might start to think about that hand break the Thule glide has ... But we have not really missed it. In conclusion, we've had no issues with it at all.  I should add there is currently a voluntary recall happening (new ones are not affected) which is a bummer. We've never had any problems and they're sending us a brand new one (minus the back wheels) for free. It might hurt resale down the road though, some people freak if Google says a recall happened even if it's fixed.

I just leave it at gate check and don’t even put it in a bag. I’ve been on a few trips recently and it haa held up good so far. We have guava roam stroller and I love it but I think the only time I would bring that on vacation is if we would be hiking/running on uneven surfaces (which to my surprise has dramatically dropped off since having a baby - imagine that 😂)

I rarely see anyone mention the Guava Roam but this is our favorite (also own the Uppababy and a Wonderfold…). It is NOT light. But it folds easily and compact for a full size stroller, stands pretty well on its own folded, has great storage space, lays flat for naps, has a great canopy with a big view window, and is a comfortable jogger for actually running. It’s easy to steer one handed. You can get a rain cover for it that worked great for us in the park. My favorite part is the stroller can be folded without removing the snack tray or parent console. We just keep all our stuff inside a bag in the storage basket. Grab that out and fold. No removing everything and reattaching every dang time. Bonus points for having lots of built in pockets too. We flew with it (gate checked - does not fit in overheads) and it survived just fine and worked fantastic for a whole week at the parks.

I’ve recommended the Roam in my history. We’ve tried all kinds - Vista, Wonderfold, Butterfly, etc. Like everyone is saying, they all serve somewhat different purposes - Wonderfold is enormous so great for the zoo or multiples but a pain for a quick trip. Vista was great until about 1yo since it has so many options but after that it was a bit bulky and annoying to fold. Butterfly is good for a quick option but not at all on tougher terrain like gravel. Roam is the most versatile out of those we’ve tried - big and comfy, lots of storage, all terrain, folds pretty small for a full size stroller. It’s not light but is about the same as the vista while folding almost half the size. It’s not suitable for an infant but there is a car seat adapter and we mostly just used a carrier when she was really small as she preferred it to the carseat.

We've had the Guava for 2.5+ years now. We live in an apartment in an urban area and it folds up easily and doesn't take up much room in our hallway. It's also easy and small enough to fold up when we're at a cafe or restaurant etc, it takes up about as much room as a large suitcase. We use it ALL the time for long walks and runs and our kid still loves it. We did use the car seat attachment for the first few months and that was easy too. We've also traveled with it. Highly recommend!
